literally what is the point? just take the plunge, me matey.
>>

Not pirating paradox dlc can get very expensive
>>
Is there something like the Fleet Builder tool in EUIV for Stellaris?

I swear to god I spent half my time just manually adding ships to queues.

I want to be able to just order 30 BB and 200 cruisers or something.

Also, any good mods that add ship variety? Not classes but actual models with working weapons?
>>
>>180436137
aye, but not pirating the main game doesn't make pirating the dlcs it any less illegal
>>
>>180436291
It's not about legality.
>>
>>180436291
oh I thought you meant "why not buy the whole thing" rather than "why not pirate the whole thing"

Yeah I think it's weird that people are so obsessed about getting their pirated dlc on their legit vanilla version.
I think it's for cheevos that I don't really care about.

Even if I have the vanilla version of a game, and I want to pirate the dlc I just get a seperate pirated version instead. Less stuff to manage.
>>
>>180436404
Oh, I see it's about the cheevos. I'll take that.
>>
>>180436492
I just wonder how that works with cheevos you can only get with the dlc, if you get one of those while you're on pirated dlc
>>

>>

Only solution I have for fleet building is adding stations to control groups.
>>
>>180436915
but even then you have to click a thousand times
>>
>>180437190
At least you have to move the mouse less, and you can make it quicker
>>
>>180436287
>Is there something like the Fleet Builder tool in EUIV for Stellaris?
No. But rest assured it'll be in a future DLC for $30 considering it's one of the most requested features the game has.

Way I worked around it is my first 8 or 9 planets all get assigned a number hotkey and over the course of the game they get built up with the dockyards and fleet academies.

I also like to ensure at least a couple have an army focus, with things like clone vats, military academy, slave processing.

It's a lot easier (and quicker to build) when you can just hotkey between planets and don't have to make multiple clicks just to build a single ship. You can queue up dozens of armies as well.
>>
>>180437190
Get something like NSC, which introduces ludicrously powerful ships you only need 2-3 of.

Never have to suffer carpal tunnel syndrome again.
>>
>>180437263
>considering it's one of the most requested features the game has.
Kinda of crazy.

I guess they've added the rally point since then?

>>180437226
>>180436915
Alright, so it doesn't exist yet. That's a damn shame.

So how about the first point? Additional ship models with working weapons?

Preferably original designs and not star trek
>>
>>180437190
get a macro that that left clicks like 10 times every time you press 5 on the numpad
>>
>>180437425
New Ship Classes, Realistic Ships and a few others do this. Some skins also exist, like 40k, if you're into that sort of thing.

How do you decide on a gameplan with the Horatio? They seem extremely dependent on the types of genes you gt to splice from minor populations around you, and finding these minor factions in general. You cant really take on the big empires early on since you do not have the production for it.

>>180440545
Tutorial does a very good job of explaining it. So does the manual. It is generated by a percentage of food production being diverted into military, trough certain improvements directly or by increasing said percentage, and by getting into bed with minors. You spend it to garrison and defendend planets as well as ships for invasion. Ships refill manpower based on a number of conditions - in short they refill best when stationed inside your sphere of influence, over a colonised system.

The first hero you get as the Vodyani is a guy who was regular person whose family was killed in the Vodyani invasion but his spirit was deemed worthy so he got put in a cloth. Why would any idependent species bring into existance a power known only for their godlike power? I mean someone being on the losing side of a galactic struggle might do so as an act of desperation, but otherwise no one would want to open a can of worms big enough to consume them, no matter how warm and fuzzy those worms appear to be.
>>
>>180452004
It depends on their convictions about the world. If they see them as religious entities, they would be more than glad to let them enter this world. If current Earth religions could open a portal that would allow their deities to manifest, none of the more theologically-motivated nations would bat an eye before allowing it.

Depends what ringworld you're thinking of.

A Stellaris ringworld would let you look at the sky, with a solid version of the milky way. If you jumped off you'd fall back on the ringworld unless you left the effective gravity well, in which case you're a spaceship and probably have some idea where you're going.

Mod recommendation:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=691008512

You provide a template for the mod then it fills all the slots on a planet based on your template. After making so many habitats and ringworlds, this mod is a god send.
>>
>>180454771
So you're a kumo?
>>
>>180454906
There's actually a separate section in the save file for the identity of a species, if that's the same any two species are the same even if they don't share a name or portrait, which I've used to separate humans by phenotype so the namelists aren't stupid.

So really they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.

>which I've used to separate humans by phenotype so the namelists aren't stupid.
That's nice.
Don't you get several different types of humans growing simultaneously then though?

I think I'd like the different phenotypes to grow as a single species, but have their own namelists. New pop gets a random phenotype, then leaders based on that pop gets that phenotypes
Not sure if that is moddable though. Maybe you'd have to make different species like you do, but make it so they can't grow, and then have the main human species that is of any phenotype grows instead, when a new pop is finally grown you have a trigger to replace it with one of the other phenotype species that is namelist sensitive.
>>
How do you fix the tiny portrait mod bug?

When someone "becoming" synthetic, the old pops should become refugees.

Yeah, it had simultaneous growth, which was a bit annoying, and it required a savegame edit to change things around so everyone got full citizenship day one. Still, the ability to settle specific planets with specific people and have that group grow was pretty neat, I only settled planets in equally spread batches, spread each people out in different directions, and pretended nations were both still around and arguing about how to divide everything up.

Short answer: mods.

Long answer: no restriction on building more than one megastructure at once, various -% build costs (by 2365 it was at -52%) from like 7-8 tradition trees and planet-unique -0.5% buildings, 18 or 19 frontier outposts of mining and research stations, and the first ringworld construction starting before 2300 and getting filled with nothing but mines until the next two or three were up.

Oh, and the 19-slot spaceport mod, being bordered in on both sides of the arm by passive Fallen Empires, and having my genocidal cockroach-robot neighbour use nothing but missiles in the first war all helped to let me not get my shit kicked in while I only had one planet.

They don't show up in every game, I'm pretty sure. Read the beginning of the guide.

Continued from last thread!
China has reached a burgeoning 2000 souls, shortly before 20000 BC! There are so many men that even Wu can't deal with all of them in a day anymore. China has recently discovered that goods can be traded for with other goods; jade and amber has been discovered in the vicinity and will surely aid future trading efforts.

One of them is a 1-year pupper who lives on an endless cycle of napping, playing until he can't move his jaw, and eating. Mischievous as hell but also really affectionate.

No you don't, not when the group is perhaps 10 people and you still 'speak' in gestures. Language in this case refers to a spoken language that isn't definitely something others will understand. Pointing and making violent movements isn't a 'language', it's body signals any other humans can understand. Also Language is literally one of the first two techs in the game so

>>
>>180469038
8, 3 fags formed an alliance and will win by score unless I get a third person in my alliance as well.
>>
>>180468961

Ring worlds are 4 25 slot gaia planets. They're borderline useless due to

>how late you get them
>how long they take to build
>how many ascension points they take
>how many minerals it takes to build

on top of that

>how long it takes 4 planets to fill 25 pops each
>how long it takes to fully upgrade 25 buildings, 4 times

Habitats are infinitely superior due to not having to deal with any of that bullshit.

Maybe you'd want a ringworld if you're starting to really lack other expansion options, not any good systems to colonize or put habitats.
Then a ringworld can be a good source of Food/Minerals, while your habitats get you energy/research.

Literal propaganda. He beat, kicked and screamed at the dog that hung out with his squad during a long winter deployment. Almost everyone else in that group died, but since they were known for housing that dog it was just assumed Hitler had loved the pupper too.

He later owned a few German Shepherds, though how much of that was nationalist posturing is anyone's guess.

In endless space 2, tech is a bit useless. Ether way: more industry is always the way to go forever always. having cool weapons and tech won't help you when you cant churn them out for a war.

the higher tech buildings tend to be bad, so low tech weapons and ships in large quantities usually works best.
>>
>>180470381
all of them you mong
You need the bottom for your science and colonization, the right for your economy and industry, the left for your ships, food, and approval
the top is just guns, which you just need to grab a few of every now and again
>>
>>180469835
Nope, Jewish camels hold supreme with

>Nah, you only want a ringworld if you want the RP of building a ring world, otherwise you're flat out better off with habitats.

>>
>>180471104
No you mog: the bottom isn't worth it. time you spend researching better research doesn't pay off until the game is already won or lost.

Go big fleets and industry early if you want to win. The game is usually over in one way or the other by turn 100

Comments like the one you are responding too aren't born of lies, but simply of people, like myself, who have given stellaris every chance to impress them and then abandoned it in disdain. Paradox than eventuall fixes this or that bugbear, like warscore in this case if you are to be believed, without fixing the core systematic failures of the game. Nothing wrong with correcting ignorance, but to act as if stellaris is a good game seems suspect to me. But than again, tastes vary.

Games are very similar in the way they fundamentally work. RT with pause, /gsg/ roots, single player immersion focus, etc.

But if stellaris is form without substance, DW is substance without form. It looks ugly, lore is limited to a couple tidbits here and there, UI with a thousand and one option half of them only used by hardcore players who disable all automation and the game generally feels archaic. But gameplay wise it's further ahead of stellaris than stellaris is of tetris. The game uses mechanics, not fluff to let you expirience the simulation, there are private ships scuttling here and yon busy trying to make money, the spies fuck up every other important assignment because when they don't it gives you a huge advantage, a newly found derelict ship if repaired can be either used a flagship of your newborn navy or disassembled for advanced tech there in, not trough some event interaction, but by dragging it to nearest starport.

I hope this gives you general idea, because if I go into more detail we will be here all day.

Then I played civ 6. It's... not *terribad*, but there are quite a few things that feel a bit off, even if i can't pinpoint them.

I think I prefer this. It's a weird mix of Sophons, Vodyani and Cravers. You consume entire systems quickly and are forced to move your Ark ships. Also get bonuses for discovering systems with a large amount of anomalies. added Eternal war for -10 and also if you do go military ENFER goes skynet on everyone.

Growth is based on the population to food ratio

>10 pops
>+10 food per month

>10 pops
>+30 food / month
>+70% growth (example again)

Surplus food has to be equal to organic pops for the growth bonus to be noticeable. It becomes useless if you don't try to maintain that ratio, which is pointless because mines and power and science is more important than all the farm tiles you'd be using.

Why do people favor wormholes in stellaris so fucking much? You are stuck as fuck during early game (needs a fucking corridor to go everywhere), your surveying stalls, travel time increases with fleet size (although its good inside the empire) and every time you are on the offense you either need to build inside the other empires borders (the AI being the troll it is will just destroy it) or forced to perform two fucking jumps near the border to go to an adjacent system.

Sure its not as bad as hyperspace (it got nerfed really hard some time ago) but holy shit it drives me nuts!

I think wormhole should have a special station on either the second or third tier that allows for a jump from point A to point B no matter the distance (very expensive stations of both entrance and exit for about 200 - 300 minerals each). These would be limited to a max of two. It would serve as long range rapid deployment with a longer charge up time for matters of balance.

Hyperspace should be allowed to fuck off from the center of the system as before and it should be faster. A hell lot faster. Fuck! Even warp is faster now in all situations except if you jump to an adjacent instead of 2+.

Warp needs shit since its the best of the starting 3 as it is.

I dont think it compensates because you can always have some space ports near the periphery in order to reinforce to some war. It can become better later on once the radius increases but you lose both the early scouting and the free early exploration.

Been thinking something similar, but I have yet to play with wormhole so I am not sure exactly what it's like.

Wormhole is simple in its functioning. You can warp from a system with a station to anywhere within its radius or the opposite (from anywhere within its radius to where the station is).

Problem is you need to build the fucking stations wherever you go (corridors everywhere). Also for short distances you are forced to go back to the station and go to the destination afterwards, assuming theres no station at the destiny which sucks balls ass.

Also for wars you need to ensure redundancy (several stations at the border) and you might be forced to build some more inside their territory to go deeper.

It is good for traveling inside your own borders but you lose everything else.

Continuing from this~
Horatio World is now size 2, which puts it only slightly behind the smaller AI cities. Meanwhile our capital of Luoyang is rapidly running out of shit to build, and has started falling back on eating up all the Culture wonders for assignment. Theoretically speaking, I could and probably should be building another City-starter group, or sending hammers towards Horatio World in the form of Merchants (which are basically "build portable hammers at for two hammer each), but I really want to actually have a semi-competitive game instead of a steamroller so I'm holding back until one of my neighbors at least starts researching Tribalism. I've already scouted out future city-sites; while it'd be fucking funny to create a city on one of the two (!) other continents I've found at this point, it'd also probably be atrociously expensive in upkeep, indefensible, and just plain not worth it, so I'm sticking to nearby territories for now.
Also, since I turned Barbarian Cities on, I expect them to begin spawning soon.
You can see Luoyang about to hit Size 10 in the back over there; also, as you can see from the icon sitting over it, Luoyang is now a Holy City for Shamanism. This really doesn't mean much because Shamanism is shit-tier compared to Druidism, but I grabbed it anyway just to stop other people from gaining an independent religion. Luoyang shall be the Jerusalem of the world, times a hundred.

I am now researching doggo training. Doggo training lets me build doggos, but that's not why I'm researching it - Canine Domestication is a prerequisite for all the other animal domestication technologies, and as I have a Goat Herd and a Bison herd in my capital, this is may be enough for me to milk the goats and later produce cheese and stuff out of them. Also, because Horses spawn out of Horse resources, which there are quite a few of on my continent, I can begin building Horse herds by taming horses when I'm done with this research.

You'd be surprised, that is our current understanding. Taming horses and herds supposedly started out when we got wolves to work together with us (not literal domestication yet) and herd the animals with us. It would be too late. As it is, hyperdrive is slower than warp right at the start. You can test this in the console by starting a non iron mode game.

In the console:

>"ai"
>"research_technologies"
>build warp ship
>"add_ship 'shipname'" -- this spawns a ship of that type in the place of the cursor
>build hyperdrive ship
>"add_ship 'shipname'"

Console commands are between " " here for better clarification but ingame you just type the command without them. Unpause and race. Warp always wins, except, sometimes, when the destination is really close (one jump).

I did for both. The reason it seems that they dont hunt is EVERYWHERE close to me is devoid of animal life so I keep pushing out then when I get to AI areas they have doomstacks of animals everywhere. One had a doomstack of 9 horses next to him. Best find I've had in the game and got me a ton of stuff.

I just bought cities skylines, and are there any must have mods in order to make a better playing experience?
>>
>>180538185
Not really. Just remember that people are fucking retarded and self-centered, and won't bother considering another way to go to work than the shortest road, even if it's completely blocked.

And /cbg/ is on topic, OP is just a faggot who took the tages out to force his shitty edition.

civ 6, I have 2 settlers(captured) but I do not know what to do with them since I already have 9 cities and didn't intend to expand more. Should I get rid of them or is more=better in civ 6?

>>
@180539284

>>
>>180539171
Been a long fucking while since I played Civ 6 but I remember that because of how luxuries would affect 4 up to 4 cities at once (6 if Aztecs) you'd want your city count to be a multiple of 4.

I could be completely wrong because as I said, it has been a long fucking time since I played it.
>>
>>180539171
Civ 6 is more the merrier kinda game so long as you can keep amenities and housing adequate. Just plop couple more cities.

>>180539503
I think that was a common misconception and luxuries affected ONLY 4 cities per luxury, not 4 per instance of luxury. But it has probably been changed since.

Have base Endless Legend, all of the expansions are like $10 now, worth picking them up and getting back into the game?
>>
>>180540324
Yes. They solved pretty much all issues game has, unless you fundamentally disagree with the core mechanics such as fidsi, combat, quests or city building, there is very little to dislike about fully updated game.

After playing ES2 for a fair bit went back to it and DotE myself because I realised how much I missed them.

>>
>>180545287
Ringworlds aren't that good just because they take an eternity to build, are expensive as fuck and you have to fill out the entire planet. Habitats are more efficient. I would opt for the Galactic contender at this point because it's only a matter of time before you have to fight an FE and the other perks are obsolete at this point.

>>180546354
>If you're on the fence
It's more that I've been avoiding any info on it for a while now. Trying to keep myself relatively unspoiled is nice, but that means I won't know how's it progressing.
Either way, sounds like it's headed in the right direction, at the very least. Does MP work fine? I usually play with a friend.

You are better off letting planets get infested then killing them after so they can't be recolonized

Yeah I noticed it was gone, but since I don't play EL I did not speak out because I don't know if it was removed for being bad or not

Add /cbg/ and /rtsg/ and /wgg/ too. Faggots keep removing those from the OP.

To be frank both wikis are dead, but that one has more useful data in my experience and if with this new interest in the endless series with ES2 release anons want to learn or contribute it's only good for all involved if both remain on display.

>From space the planet seems typical of many an advanced civilization's--large-scale infrastructure, dense urban/industrial areas, cultivated wildernesses--except for one anomaly: the complete absence of a comms spectrum at any wavelengths. Planetside, the truth becomes shockingly clear. MU3R74 is a ghost world, terraformed for future inhabitants who never arrived. The corroding shells of Sowers, the self-replicating robotic workers tasked with making planets habitable for the Virtual Endless, litter the world. What befell the Sowers is unclear. Machine plague? Mass suicide? Whatever it is, the outcome looks like a silent apocalypse.
