Ok, good choice. I'm not gonna lie to you though, Kazumi is a pressure/poking character. She doesn't really have any gimmicks that will net you free wins. Her launchers are quite limited, too. Thankfully, she has a hopkick to help you with that.

Poke people with df1, d4, and 1,1 alot. You have to recognize when your opponent is pressing buttons to punish them.

Holy shit, eddy is ridiculously fast in terms of movement.
Is he fairly difficult? I already know everyone will hate me if I play him, don't really care about that

Yeah, Eddy has the best backdash in the game, so if you learn how to KBD with him, you can stay back pretty safely. His sidestep is completely garbage though, and it's pretty much the only reason why I don't use him.

Don't let shitters tell you he's dishonest, he got nerfed so fucking hard this game. You have to play solid to succeed with him now.

Kazumi matches the rest but she's not defensive. Check out Alisa if you haven't already. I played her in Tag 2 and moved onto Kazumi because I wanted a more offense oriented character.

A chicken is a way to reverse a parry.

For example, you can chicken out of Asuka's parry depending on what limb got parried. Let's say I do Heihachi's ff2, and Asuka parried it, I can chicken out of it by pressing f2+4 the moment I get parried.

However, If I did Heihachi's ff3 istead, I would have to press f1+3 instead.

Play more on the patient side but know when to apply pressure. Paul hits like a truck and your opponents will be uncomfortable because of this.
Dash into hopkick beats a lot of moves. It won't work all the time but it's good for catching people pushing too many buttons.
If you really get into him it's advise learning low parries. Those combined with his reversal make your defense very tight which is good because Paul can punish hard.
In the lower ranks, his crush move b1+2 is amazing. Throw in his command tackle if you see your opponent isn't very good at breaking grabs.

Finally, d1+2, his shoulder charge is very very quick.

if you get a life lead, they need to come to you, plain and simple. If they get a lead you need to break their defense with the grab options given to you and same well framed attacks. Getting a counter-hit with Alisa is easy because she can be very deceptive with her WS attacks. You can also use your insanely fast mid pressure attacks like f+4 and b+1, or some of your low options like the infamous d/b+3.

Nina is complicated because she has a large movelist and requires precise movement execution. She has many moves which can be canceled into sidestep, during sidestep she has a move (side step +1) which is a quick short range mid that can be cancelled isn't a forward or back sway by tapping forward. Sways can also be cancelled into sidesteps. If you properly cancel ss+1 you are literally at +8 on block (you can get some hits for free on hit I believe) and can use whatever sway move you want or immediately sidestep cancelninto your sidestep moves or even another ss+1. This requires a lot of practice and character familiarity. Also some people complain that her backdash is harder than other characters because they suck dick at tekken and don't properly use Korean backdash cancelling. Proper kbdc will never result in accidental qcb inputs. Also instant ws+1 combos are challenging (necessary to unlock ninas best combos and wall carries).

Asuka is a character that could do this, as she has poor punishment at i10 and a plethora of gimmicky crush moves which might get in the way of learning proper defense and punishment.

From the Nina's I've played against they can launch, do qcf+1 two or three times, tailspin, and send you across the map. Can't imagine why you'd really need to learn iws+1.

As an Eliza main, I should do the correct backdash cancel in order to avoid unwanted specials right? Or would the QCB shortcut work just fine?
