Go ahead and look through the vg archives and look at the bf4 bfg threads. They were barely maintained through shitposting and webms and it was even more cliquey and circlejerky than the discord is right now. Discussion of the actual game was almost nonexistant in comparison to threads today that 404 before they reach the post limit.

it was literally as bad as your average /vg/ mmo group posting. Most of them got scared away from BF1. What's left are people who actually cared about battlefield. I can understand missing bf3 threads, I miss them too. They were actually posting and being friendly to each other with the occasional marcus blogposting here and there. Discord is only one piece of the problem. Its the dying state of 4chan and a bunch of other factors affecting the usage of the internet.

You can't keep on dumpstering guy after guy with either of those like you can with the auto revolver.
I feel like Auto Revolver is the best all around revolver in the game, and am really glad that the medic (bae class) has it.

The only good thing the gasser has going for it is the range it 2HK at and the No3 is the fastest to draw of all the revolvers and is all class. But for the medic, the No3 is made obsolete by Auto Revolbae

Nivelle is definitely going to be the next Frontlines map, you can see from the distinct trench placements and sprawling NML that it has a very back-n-forth feel to it.

I used to play a lot of domination for non vehicle non weather games, and lots of battlepacks (-+5 games an hour was about 2/3 packs) but they doubled the tickets and they're now almost as long as conquest games.

I have no problem with infantry focused maps, it's just that they're all so poorly designed. Nivelle and Vaux are carousels of chasing the same flags repeatedly, Argonne is a literal straight line, and Verdun is maybe the worst designed multiplayer map I can think of.

Hey /bfg/ I have a stupid question for yall.

I played Hardline for about a month after release and greatly enjoyed it. I sold my xbox and just recently got a ps4. Im looking at starting to get some games for it.

I was considering getting BF1, but I played the beta and hated the fucking map and thought some of the small mechanics within the game itself were just stupid.

I was thinking of getting Hardline because I know I enjoyed it and its only $10. But I know BF1 has a decent fanbase and was wondering if it'd be worth shilling out the extra $30 for the game or just waiting for the new one.

Are the other maps actually fun? Is it more exciting/fun compared to hardline?

Would just like some input before I go to the store.

So is the key to unlocking shit to stop caring? I got one sabre piece the week after tsnp was released. I really wanted it, so I grinded for weeks trying to get battle packs and scraps. Got one of those new medals this week where you need to get 20 kills with 4 rarely used weapons.

I actually ended up liking the 12G Backbored and the Autoloading .25 Extended. The BAR Trench isn't as good as the Storm though, and the Gewehr 98 Infantry is probably the worst infantry rifle in the game.

To each their own I guess, though I don't find the reload to be all THAT slow. A lot of times I find myself being able to make those follow up shots at close to medium distance with either another G98 shot or a shot or two from the Mars. I will admit that it's not my favorite in CQC (and certain maps), I either go with the SMLE, M.95, or Martini-Henry Infantries, though I'll go G98 in almost any other situation. I rather enjoy going Infantry variant at longer ranges, unlike the other Scout Infantry variants.

My only hope as a supportfag is they bring the 1917 Burton LMR, with something like some normal variants and a variant that shoots incendiary ammo- increased damage to airplanes with the drawback of pointing yourself out. They'd be stupid not to, it was technically America's first assault rifle. I know it was rarely fielded and the double magazine reload would be weird to work out, but shit BF1 has a gun that we know only exists because of some pictures.

You have to nerf sniper classes into the ground in FPS games these days because if you don't, they are complete and utter game ruining cancer. Hell even with scouts being shit, it doesn't stop there being games where you have nothing but two teams of hillniggers shitting it up.

Also the "sweet spot" mechanic is pretty powerful if used right. The salt within your post tells me that you didn't, because when you do it's basically 1 hit kills all day.

The points are too evenly spaced between one another and the trenches allow for rapid movement between points without any massive risk to the player. Each team also seems to start the round within 30 seconds of the neutral point and starts in a massive clump. The squad spawn system always gives you the option to spawn beside a team mate as well.

Honestly though I have no idea what makes this map worse than the others. Maybe I just don't notice it as much but Nivelle feels like it has zero structure with how it plays out. Ijust play it on frontlines now.

standard issue rifles that are permanently zeroed to 50m should have been all kit weapons. the infantry variants for scouts would still be available and they would be able to be zeroed to 75, 150, 300 m like they currently are
