So my ex got me into league, but his challenger friend carried me to diamond last season. Now I go into games with my diamond border and have virtually no skills outside of laning phase that would set me apart from a gold player. My entire champion pool is also only three champs.

How do I get good legitimately, and make diamond on my own this season? I used to watch hours of streams, and I played all the time, but I feel like my CS is never really where it should be, and oftentimes I wind up out of position and giving up a free kill or summoner.

So the thing is, if I'm in a lane alone I'll get all the cs pretty much 99.9% of the time. It's when I have to also poke and trade with an opponent that it starts to suffer. I main Lux and Ekko, or Poppy if I'm put in top lane. Trading with champs like Orianna or Syndra can be really hard in the early stages, especially since losing enough trades will mean you get zoned from the wave.

I have never had a smurf not place gold, and they usually end up in plat in <15 games. I feel like I try to make plays too much based off the team in higher Elo games rather than make plays on my own. Maybe it has to do with knowing there was someone I the game to rely on that made me develop a weird play style, but I'm in a situation where of the sidelines both lose and nobody is calling shots, I just sort of flounder and can't turn the game around. I have a very positive attitude, but now that Kat has become something I can't play anymore, I have a really hard time carrying games in high plat/low diamond even when I'm ahead.

i had a friend try it for one game with some other friends that had been playing for years, get flamed hardcore by the other team and uninstalled immediately.

players that have been playing for years dont really know how to teach the game because they dont understand that what is common knowledge to them isnt going to be known by a new player. i went through the same learning process.

Generally what you end up doing is just positioning so that the AoE will either push or not push the wave depending on where you want the wave to go, and just buying potions so your hp will outlast her mana bar.

It's not the fact that she's melee that is a problem but that there are so many more reilable and less risky tank supports that can engage a fight and not be in as much of deep shit if things go south. Even the matchups she's supposed to crush have many ways of dealing with her. Silver surfer e-grill jannas will not Q your E though, brainless lulu pickers will polymorph you instead of your ADC and the "I pick morgana to counter leona" autofilled "supports" will pop their 20s cooldown shield the moment you look at them so all you will have to do is all in the other player or wait the shield out.
In p5 and above you should never pick her before you know what the enemy support is and in d5 and above you can honestly only pick her into blitzcrank, everything else will fuck you in the ass unless they're autofilled OTPs or your jungler sets up a tent bot lane.
