i need some help trying to decide what to do. i've made a pathfinder wander. I'm torn between a couple things.

First I can't decide if I should go ele wander with piscator's or go chaos and use an obliteration for the profound bloom it has for more map clear. Any advice?


second i'm torn between going life or low life. I have a 6link beast and only a 5 link shav's. I've never played a wander (or know anyone who has) to see if it's a good idea or bad idea.

I'd love to play trickster but I guess it's never going to be a thing unless I want to severely gimp my damage for no real reason. If the dots suck without a major investment from both the tree and the gear, and if you can just generate your power charges with skyforths, doesn't assassin lose quite a bit of its value unless you really do build around dots?

Yes. Poison does basically no damage to start, so you need to put a lot into it to make it worth using.
With enough currency you can make pretty much anything work, but stacking that crit is probably just the best way to make poison work now.

So I was comparing the Slayer ascendancy tree and the AoE gem, and gem is, frankly, underwhelming. I have to sacrifice a gem slot to get 49% AoE, when 2 Ascendancy points give me 30%(plus some other stuff), and if I'm using Starforge the AoE will be the same.

Using that setup with the new Brutality gem would give me 54% MORE physical damage, which is much better than abit of AoE.

I just feel like it's very unrewarding to spend resources on mitigating such a rare source of damage. I love tanky characters and defensive options in general, and it's exactly because of that that things like "x% reduced reflected damage taken" feel underwhelming when I could instead be upping my life/ES pool and getting nice big HP numbers.

Don't take my word for it since I am new, but the MoM RF SR build to me looks like HnK/DBZ style stuff with a beam attack that is you primary move, a bright styled aura that's so badass that it can affect others, and using your equivalent of ki to reduce damage done to you. Not to mention according to the betafags here, youtubers, and streamers, it's gonna be pretty strong in 3.0.

don't do the chaos recipe, it's a noob trap. if you want to make chaos grind maps quickly , vendor 6socket items you find, learn what are good/bad bases, pick them up and id them. and one of the best ways to make money in poe is by not spending it, don't waste a ton of currency rolling maps. one thing that probably doesn't apply to most people but for me at least is not buying mini upgrades because they are cheaper than an item i will equip and wear for the rest of the league.

They aren't redoing anything. The endgame is the same. No massive release of skills because BAAAAAW THATS TOO HARD. Nothing new on the support gems, no new mechanics, just le more damage. All they've done is model and animate few new bosses, a couple new enemies, and then recycled tile sets from maps that already exist to stick them on.

Yet we've seen an abhorrent amount of pushbacks and delays, case in point Legacy, the filler league that was only supposed to bridge to beta, was extended.

Like, where are these resources going? The fucking Pantheon where you can get a whopping 1% damage reduction of a specific element on certain days of the month when the sun is at a specific point in the sky and you have at least 3 bramblejacks in your stash?
