I hate to use the term comfy but Tideytime is really excellent second monitor bullshit. He isn't irritating, he has a personality but it isn't too fucking annoying or subdued, even though he'll autistically play a single deck for 12 hours straight he at least toys around with it and doesn't just netdeck, he doesn't read and talk to chat constantly, plays the game well. Basically just first 2 and I only press on if I'm in a heavy Gwent playing mood but rarely hit the next tier. I actually played enough to get the 50 the other day but I think I've only hit the 50 powder once and that was open beta launch day.

It would've been tempting to press on right now since I'm at 85 ore after hitting the 75 ore tier (The rewards were really fucking grim today) and the full refunds will probably be dead tomorrow but I'm already sitting on around 31,000 scrap so it's not a huge deal. I'll feel foolish if my next keg has a premium nerfed legendary in it but otherwise I should live.

besides just playing sk, is ther anything that can hold up agaisnt standard axe weather and kambi variants?

ocvist is underated, its essentially like playing a spy but the trade ofs are, it takes time to work but also gives you power, worst case scenario it gets killed which means your opponent used resources on it anyway

Ciaran's really good. Locks in general are nice, he's fairly high point, and if you've got gigni he gets even better since you can force shit into a gigniable row.

Ocvist is solid but usually gets passed up for other silvers. You can occasionally get card advantage from him but generally speaking he just ends up eating a lock or removal. Which isn't too shabby. He's not terrible if you don't want to play squirrels or monsters.

Crones are obviously really solid, but it's worth considering if you've already got the witchers or not. If you've already got a set of 3 witchers I would say skip her. Crones are stronger yes, but by 3 fucking points and you're missing other silvers. If you haven't got a full witcher set already and if you want to play monsters she's not a bad choice. Obviously worthless by herself so you either need to cough up 400 scrap for the other two or wait until you unkeg another, so depends on your collection and amount of scrap.

I hate being new at card games. The only thing I can make is Budget Buff Dwarves since everything is mostly bronze. But even that isn't that great.

I tried out Xmen and Bears too but I can't seem to get it to work. I find that it's really slow to get started and I'll often get fucked by an opponent passing early on in Round 1.

The only upside is that I can get about 8 packs a week which is pretty generous in comparison to other card games.

I'm not having fun since the patch, I'm a SK player at heart but I hate netdecking and anything that's broken. The problem is that there is currently no viable SK deck apart from axemen (which I was already playing way before the patch), and with everyone being fucking faggot netdeckers, I need something on par to even stand a chance.

I used to hover around 2k but since playing spellatael I've gone up about 1k in 2 days. People play RegisHV against me, sure, but with my 10-power golds (Avallac'h, Aglais, Schirrú) I usually have enough points to win. This counters bears and weather monsters pretty hard.

Letho d-bomb calveit spies. It's got so many options, tools and answers and it's actually pretty difficult to play now because you don't run golems and don't have to brain dead autopilot calveit first move pulling out anything that just gives you tempo without thinking.

It's actually an incredibly fun deck with a lot of decisions. And because NG got nerfed mirror match ups are unlikely, you're pretty good against skellige, and Letho and Vilgefortz make every game feel different.

neither are necessary, but I do think Schirrú is a bit better than Aglais. when you play this deck you inevitably have a dead card in hand and Schirrú converts that to value. Aglais is always at last 10 points, but she enables you to do some crazy shit like play your opponent's scorch, decoy your shackled Avallac'h, or just a weather card.

Card advantage is important in every card game. It's just sort of part of the whole genre.

I don't think card advantage is a big deal, but tempo sure is. Decks that use one card to get 25-30 power are cancer, because if you can't match them they can pass and force you 2 cards down.

Nah, people are retarded netdeckers who underestimated SK. Since the only thing they knew about was morkvarg/hunter or QG, they thought nerfing that and changing the bear priority would kill the faction, so CDPR listened and buffed the bear by +2 instead of just 1, while people with braincells were already playing axemen.
NG is still the perfect counter to current meta SK but until some streamer decides to showcase that, people will stick to whatever is top 1, even if that doesn't mean shit when everyone is playing the same deck.

This is the Xmen and Bears list I slapped together. I don't have any better Silvers or Golds. I find that if my opponent passes early before I can get set up I just get fucked. I think I need the decent Silvers and Golds to give myself some early tempo.

That is the weakness of playing a 2 strength unit that will only get bigger. You need to plan on your opponent passing when you drop the axemen - or better yet, lure them into dropping units, frosting them THEN dropping axemen to ensure he already gets big.
Standard Geralt is 10 to 13 strength. Crach'ing out Morkvarg is 14 strength. Consider holding on to those to lure the opponent into thinking he can pass without you being able to take the turn with one card. If you have mork and they don't have you can afford to go the next round a card or two down.

That works both ways, no SK was dumb enough to play a freya while the bear was up, it's only a nerf to SK, because it lets you play vicos whenever you want and steal shit, which was what the bear used to be a counter to. No, the priority change is a nerf aimed directly at the old stregy of cockblocking 1 power cards like Vicos, and Freyas in a mirror match.
