NRS doesn't understand sound. All other fighting games started off in the arcade where good, catchy, appealing sound design was important to get people to move towards them. The same with poppy visuals.

king of fighters? killer instinct? either of those two will get you going. king of fighters is easier than people think. and killer instinct does have a fair amount of DLC but its managable. Also, its coming later this year to steam, and will no longer require windows 10.
