if you're patient you can get sliske essence for ~7m each, the rest pretty much buys at ge price, meaning it's around 16m to refine legs
add in the ~2.7m worth of charges to augment it and you've spent a bit under 19m to get 4 comps
looks like it would still be more expensive to refine the body, so i was wrong on that account
i think sliskean ess was cheaper the last time i ground out some illujankan comps, so using the refined body was cheaper than just the body

That's what I was referring to, yes. I think using the same monsters is sufficient to call it a precedent, even if the mechanics were different. I've noticed them re-using assets and content more frequently, so I wouldn't be surprised if they took that a bit further. To make it more like how it was in TWW, they could so something like reskin the Araxxor map so that it appears to happen somewhere else and maybe change a few mechanics to mix it up a bit.

Is this a good strategy for an exp vs cost balanced path to 99 farming? It's in a sort of weird approximate form assuming that I only do one run a day (which I will likely not), so ignore that aspect of it.

I never see anyone talk about farming in these threads.

The biggest problem I have at rippers is the time it takes for my character to actually move after a ripper dies. I've tried spam clicking, carefully clicking after it dies, clicking on drops, and clicking on other rippers to get out of the way. The only thing that seems to work is clicking on other rippers or surging. Sometimes this isn't viable if I'm in front of a wall or there are no rippers in a good spot. Other attempts at this just had me dragged back into the death animation as I was running to the new ripper and it moved. I end up losing a lot of HP that I shouldn't because the game simply cannot respond properly.

That is a problem likely caused by channeled abilities. Jmods know it exists and claim to be working on a fix, but they likely forgot about it.

If you have sign of the porter IV and strong combat you might be able to kill blue/black dragons and send the hides back for possibly more.

Bring a familiar with food and like 20 porters they can bank 20 hides each so you can get 400 hides per bank (never calculated the method my self but I do this for slayer)

Also if you have a bone crusher that would be free prayer exp

they really aren't all that difficult once you've killed a few and get used to their patterns. wyverns are only tough because they tend to hit like trucks regardless of what you do, and you have to worry about that stupid freeze mechanic while you're killing them

the only elite mob that can actually kill you are ripper demons, but the instant kill mechanic is easy as hell to avoid. most of the time they die way before they even get a chance to do the jump. you heal everything else back with vamp scrimshaw.

wyverns do a lot of damage, but they dont hit high/often enough to combo you out. you just have to eat a bit of food (god forbid you have to ACTUALLY eat food while fighting...)

you heal everything back from mammoths with a vamp scrimshaw, no problems there.

pray mage and avoid the tornado against camels and they hardly do any damage either.

It's always been near a mountain, so it makes sense for it to be hilly. If you look at the old version, there were hills, just behind the buildings. Now they're incorporated into the village. There aren't enough buildings in the first place for planning/orientation to be relevant. They're all just facing the road.
