You know when you spew this toxic shit around, it *surprisingly* doesn't actually help anything. It actually makes the situation worse. Providing constructive and positive posts would go a long way. Remember, monkey see monkey do, when you do something, odds are someone else will follow suite. So when you shit all over your nest, the next person will probably shit all over it too. But when you do something constructive and help the general, the next person will probably want to help out as well.

This is a self fulfilling cycle.

If you want a better general, it starts with (YOU).

When someone else does something shitty, you have to resist fighting fire with fire, it's tempting I know but it goes no where. You have to instead point out they are being unreasonable and provide a constructive alternative to their behavior - the second part is the most important part, providing guidance and structure for them to improve on, anyone can be a critic but providing good and quality information for that criticism can have a profound effect.

Remember, change starts with (YOU).

Don't be lazy and hope some single amazing person will materialize out of nothing and will come and fix everything magically. It won't happen, to fix a community, you have to work like a community.

I'm not asking you to turn into some gay reddit hug box. I'm not asking you to pretend to be something you're not. I'm just asking that before you post, ask yourself a question. Does this help anyone? Is this a constructive post? Am I doing my part in the community? If you answered no to anyone of those you probably should revise your post or course of action.

Remember, /mcg/ is a community. It only works if ALL of us are working together. No lone actors, everyone. Think, and stay positive.

The thing is, most people in this general hate the game, the community and what has become of it, yet are unwilling to do as much as lift a finger to try and steer the community - yes, even /mcg/ itself - in a positive direction. This is why people who like the game and enjoy it eventually stop posting here and move to various Discords or IRCs, then the threads start dying before hitting the post limit on even weekends.

Going by the crashlog someone posted last thread, the problem is most likely happening because of a simple typo (the mod is looking for "registory" instead of "registry"). You could try Google Translating your way into posting a bug report in the Japanese forums, they allow guest posting so you wouldn't put up a shamefur dispray in front of nippojin-sama-tachi.

I originally wanted to just do a map for the pack, but more lately I've been considering trying to make it terrain gen friendly. Can I use some structure mod to make say jungle biomes spawn a bunch of giant toxic tree schematics?r recurrent complex?

As far as pack progress, I finally have this week off work, so I really want to get everything unified this week. Mainly because the new immersive engineering updates are fucking COOL. Gotta make some textures still to match pixel perfection more closely, config Platforms 1.10 to work with my custom metal blocks and minetweak a fuck load of stuff. Quark got some nice new updates as well, though most are useless to me. The cave crystals retextured however make Very nice ancient computer screens buried in the depths of the blame inspired substrate canyons (they even glow faintly).

I'm camping until tomorrow or I'd post screens now.

I would go with a map only, it would be more tedious to setup reccurent complex structures since they tend to clash with the enviroment and such and its more work to set it up correctly and that it blends nicely. Just do the map and then build an ice wall or a metal wall.

step 1: make the machine needed (probably a modified alembic or matrix) and stick it next to a fitting circular structure (empty cobblestone sphere, stone sphere with dirt lining, arcane stone sphere with glass lining)
step 2: pump that shit up full of salis mundus, praecanto, vitreum and primal(s) (more diff primals= more flux?)
Step 3: wait or crack it open if you like bad things happening (aka: explosions and flux everywhere)
Step 4: Open and harvest! (with some/little/barely flux left inside
T1 would make poor crystal bearing stone (didn't know they used to be a thing, but they should drop 0~2 crystals), T2 would make the usual stones and T3 would directly make clusters (possibly mixed clusters if all primals are thrown in)
i don't claim it is balanced, but it sounds fun to me
and yeah, bigger geodes give more investments, more baking time but also more rewards (fid a way to make one big geode more worth to make than 10 small ones?)
T1 should be the "well, it's that or exploring 5K blocks, so..." tier, T2 should feel fair and T3 should make you feel like all that setup was worth it, i guess.

How are peoples experiences with Lord of the Craft? I've heard some sperg there, but I like roleplay and wanted some thoughts. Could be good, but would prefer some opinions before I do anything.

First, I mainly use twitter channels which post architecture or castles in particular, because you get a constant flow of different styles and themes on your page.

Second, Old-school lego builds can be great if they're not overcomplicated with greeble, but focus on good form and colour palette.

Third, More recently I got a Pinterest account, which is a goldmine if you're looking for the more detailed or technical material.

Finally, from my own experience, I advice against looking at other Minecraft builders or Youtubers for inspiration, because often you end up with either building generic skyrim houses or copying their style.

from what i see in the config (and remember):
cave fishers (bug like horror?), flesh crawler (undead spider-like horror), depth crab, dogu (some kind of golem), enderpod (kind of like these larva thing from half life?), giant files, gazers (flying eyes of fuck you), ghosts (has overworld and nether variants), influence creepers, juvenile blazes (mini blazes that are less dangerous but spawn a bit everywhere in the nether), kasya (not a good luck cat), swordia (sword elemental? that charges you, really cool)
really, just make an instance and throw some spawn eggs aroud,you won't be disapointed

I wouldn't make that the end goal of my castle. First start off with a floorplan containing all of the neccesary elements: Gatehouse, curtain walls, towers, donjon, stables, etc...
The castle will look interesting once you'll be able to fit all these together. Smaller structures or ornaments can be added when the majority is finished.

If I can offer some personal practical tips for the layout:
* Every building needs an entrance (with a gatehouse in this case), so the space at your front door is just as important.
* I'd start off with a "mini-keep" that just contains a large stairwell. You can connect the main keep or other facilities like towers and bridges from there.
* Since you're in a desert biome, you're in no need for sloped roofs, you can use a variety of battlements or domes to top the buildings.

I was off. On Beyond I get 200+. Turning off mipmap, fancy graphics, etc. makes it average around 250fps. It still hits 300+ at moments. In smaller custom 1.10+ packs I do average 300+ though.

Still, 1.7.10 packs run significantly better for me. With RTG I can sustain 400-500fps on 1.7.10. McJty and other modders in that faggot circlejerk are the ones with good computers apparently. Or they're (consciously or subconsciously) lying about 1.10+'s fps boost.

So it seems like it's working, insofar as Poor Copper from Railcraft spawning around Copper from Forestry. Right, so essentia enters at the buffer, and I've labelled the containers based on their suction priority.
The labelled jar at 1 has a suction of 64, and essentia will go there first. If it is not full, it will pull from 2/3/4 until it is.
The reservoirs at 2/3 are the bulk storage, and have a suction of 24 each, but because of their placement, they fill in order. Anything that doesn't go into 1 will go into 2, then to 3 if 2 is full
The restricted tubes on 4 will cut the suction from 32 to 8, making it lowest priority

Essentia Locus from Automagy. I thought it was mentioned in the instructional pic, but it might not be. Add in the essentia funnel from Witching Gadgets and you'll never have to fuck with alchemy bullshit ever again. Also, the Dislocation foci from Thaumic Tinkerer lets you move the reservoirs around like jars. Pretty handy when you need to move a reservoir from the main rig to a centrifuge.

I hate how this is still a thing. It's like an exploit that nobody's bothered to patch. I don't mind so much using lava buckets as a good but impractical furnace fuel but pic related just looks like an old joke.

Does anyone know the best way to balance it all? I'm thinking of disabling portable tanks and ender tanks forcing the use of unstackable buckets or a rail system carrying fluid carts. Maybe outright disabling lava from generating any power at all or maybe gimping lava to be much less efficient than coal and better used for furnaces. Any other ideas?

AAACTUALLY Aluminum looks pgood with the Toxic Jungle modpack Worked Aluminum blocks.

Still dunno how I feel about the treated wood, I would really like to use the spruce wood of PixPerf as treated wood. Its just so classy and perfect for ship decks, workshops and all. Plus my ''world'' will have all renamed woods and crops for a more alien world feel, AND I'm using one wood type (probs birch) as the toxic jungle wood anyway, so I'm losing a texture there.

I'm just worried the few wooden multiblocks (worktable) will look weird.

Don't set your min and max yo the same value. In fact, I don't bother setting the min value at all.

The way you have it set, the game will continue to use all your memory until it hits the max, then freeze, and it will do this in around 30 second cycles. Watch the memory with F3 enabled and you can see it.

Yeah, Unidict does that. The weird thing is that I never had problems with world gen in the past and had used Extra Biomes XL (or BoP) and RTG in many other packs that I made in the past. I mainly wanted to fuck around with magic mods and Reika stuff in this modpack because I always kept away from Reika mods in the past. Now I'm bored enough to try it. The only things that I can think of that affect world gen a lot from Reika would be Chromaticraft and Geostrata. But I don't think that they really do much different from other similar mods in terms of world gen. When I use Opis I get upwards of 2,000 to 3,000 chunks loaded at once if I generate a lot of terrain and around 800 when just generating a little on the edge so I think that part of the problem is that some mod is running out of control in terms of chunk generation. However, I'm at work for the day and can't give a proper modlist but most other mods in the pack are things that I have already used a lot in the past with no issues. In either case, the hit to performance is annoying at best and crashes at worst. If no terrain is being generated, the tps is perfect and I have no other issues.

Haven't played chromaticraft but I'm mostly sure, due to one anon posting an entire playthrough of it in the thread, it has some specific rules and mechanics to how it generates its worldgen, similar to the twilight forest, one of the biggest TPS killers in all of modded minecraft.

I haven't played Minecraft since pistons were added, but ever since the announcement of the cross-platform compatibility, I've been itching to play it again. Since I always used to play vanilla and I doubt the same will hold my interest too long, I'd like to pick up a bunch of mods to get a fresh and different experience out of it. What packs do you recommend?
Looking back at when I played the game, I enjoyed the survival aspect, although I wasn't too keen on the combat - I'd rather build defense mechanisms than click on zombies. Most of the time I was building bases, and messing around with redstone.
Are there any mods that compliment that sort of playstyle?
Also, are there any good mods that add NPCs you can order around to do chores? I'd love to have a strategy managment element like that in the game.

Theres competitive PVP and its quite interesting

My mod pack, I've been using it for nearly 3 years now. Please rate, recommend mods and suggest tweaks. I'm thinking about removing Crayfish furniture mod but eh. MCA too but I quite like having random humans to mojang (((villagers))). AE2 is another mod I'm considering letting go since I have logistics pipes but I'm not quite sure how to make a favourite world cope with such a change. I've also been reading a few comments here that Minefactory Reloaded is MAWPC, it's a fun mod I like using so what are its main critiques?
