I had the same issue, I ended up choosing Fuu because I use her in more parties, she's like an all-round support in every melee party while I only use Anzu in my yellow party. Just do D3-3 again and you can get both.

I use Anzu a lot, actually (with Sumi and support and Kasha or Ichimokuren she pulls good work) but yeah you're probably right. Fuu has more use.

It always feels silly when you 3-star the last stage but struggle with the ones before it.

I've not had super good luck in rolls, but this is probably my favorite so far. SSR Sonoko and my first purple SR Sekka so far, so I don't have to live in fear of yellow stages anymore, and another blue SR Sekka to power her up even more.

I'd pick Anzu since she's good for clearing paths and racking crits with right set up. R Fuu is a decent enough stat stick and you're more likely to upgrade her stats through gacha dupes anyway. Her ability also gives you more crit on ranking to 4. SR Fuu gives 50 damage reduction at the same rank for better tanking ability but in my experience I don't usually use Fuu to three star stages.

Was playing around with the new fairies I got via three starring NoWaYu 4 on Normal that I couldn't before with an SR Anzu/R Natsume that I sped up as much as I could.

The results:
- Three starred boss with ease as seen in pic in combo with SR Fuu's +20% crt leader ability and SR Yuuna's rank 5 DPS. Think I would have three starred it even without hissatsus and even then the gauge maxed out three times. Also, Yuuna's rank was 7 by the end of it and Anzu's was 8 by the time boss rolled out.
- Solo three starred halfheartedly one of the earlier stages on the front line without a useful leader ability and kept the rest out of action.

Was she this ridiculous in the novels?

SSR Wakaba's better in almost every spec, but if you only have her SR and really need melee support for red stages then you could boost her up. SR Wakaba requires a lot of micromanaging, even with Fuu she's pretty fragile so you need to keep her moving and attack enemies from the side to keep her from accumulating damage.

My lv 68 Karin solo'd the boss with 14s to spare after she and a friend Karin did their hissatsu. Try selecting another SSR Karin as your friend and have her jump in if one Karin isn't enough. Not sure what the rest of your formations look like but if you have ranged support and another red pair in addition to your SSR Karin + Fuu leaders that should be enough to 3* the level.

Despite being simple at first glance, the skill ceiling of this game is incredibly high. People are already showing kiting rechniques to stall damage or trigger suicide enemies, maximizing exp gain on multi color stages stages, etc. Too bad I am still being foiled by the slow skill slide.

Later on, it really feels like having at least one person with an "hits the entire lane" skill is extremely important. Those speedy Vertex either tear into your HP or hit the goal in moments, unless like, everyone had type advantage. You need to use a special to kill them otherwise. SR Yoshitsune + R Kawabotaru is a great combo for SSR Wakaba or SSR Tougou. I've seen a lot of SR Four Oni with SR Sekka to make up for her huge drop in SPD after her hissatsu.

Current meta is for 3-starring is crit. So you'll want characters with naturally high crit rates - like SR and SSR Fuus and both SR Sekkas - and characters with high attack rates - like SSR Karin and (I think) SSR Wakaba and SR Anzu. Crit-boosting characters like SSR Sonoko are also good.

Teams should generally have a leader that enhances these. Till recently, I had a deficit of ranged characters, which meant I defaulted to Karin (and still do regularly), but other options are there.

This is only a general rule - if you find you're failing a stage due to lack of health rather than damage, you may instead choose a leader that boosts HP as you build defensively.

Where leaders' skills are limited to certain colors (for instance Sonoko boosting only purple crits), you want to pair them with other units of that color as far as possible (so for instance, you might benefit from eventually swapping out team 2's Tougou for SR Sekka, all other things constant).

Additionally, the UI is misleading in that teammates' attack ratings do not directly add up; as far as we know, they simply act as multiple characters that share the space but attack independently in accordance with their own attack range and speed. So you want to pair your main characters with supports that share similar ranges.

(As a negative example, your SSR Tougou is paired with SSR Wakaba and SSR Fuu, who both cannot attack when Tougou is attacking from the back as she should be. Were you to pair her up with another ranged unit, her listed HP and attack rating would both decrease, but her damage output would actually increase since you now have 2 characters that can hit enemies instead of 1. Health doesn't really matter for ranged units anyway, since they ought not to be being hit.)

Strangers and friends see and use the leader of your first team. So if you've got a suboptimal setup there, people might be reluctant to add you.

Also, refer to the doc for translations.

To be honest, I'd consider the difficulty scaling of later stages a big issue. I have someone who's level 80 and two partners in the 60s. Even stages with type advantage give me trouble 3*ing. Except the event stages, because those are far easier than advertised.

Any normal stages, especially daily ones, which are near 50 difficulty or higher, feel like a borderline paywall you would need 4 flower SSRs for. And 50 isn't even close to max end right now. Imagining even higher is terrifying

It's hard for me to say, since my roster was somewhat different from yours, but if you're getting mobbed to death, that sounds like you're not outputting enough damage to kill the small enemies fast enough, never mind the boss.

In that case, I'd suggest either sticking SR Takashima and/or Natsume on someone who crits reliably in order to fill up your gauge faster and let you spam low cost skills (hopefully you've already leveled those up) to clear the field; or dropping Yuuna in favor of some ranged dps (perhaps Anzu?) and letting the two Karins tank (in this case, it might be better to refresh until you find a Karin with Fuu supporting).

Of course, that leaves the boss to be dealt with, but it's probably best to think of getting through the mobs first. That at least lets you 2-star the stage rather than explode entirely.

My usual bar-fillers are Karin+Takashima or Fuu+Takashima and this map puts the two together.
Anzu is an option, but my yellow fairy roster is shit and my best choice is R Kasha which gives +CRT when ascending except Anzu has trouble ascending.

Thinking of giving R Fuu to Karin and putting SR Fuu in the frontline along with Takashi- actually I can put Takashima in front and Fuu in the back, Fuu can crit from there anyways. I lose a fairy slot but my red fairies are better than my yellow ones anyways,

Firstly, you can save a bunch of money and udon if you don't level up random characters who you'll likely never use. With this roster you should be able to do enough hard mode/red daily levels with red T3 diamonds to unlock your SSR Karin another step. Prioritize that for the future whether or not you can manage that before the event ends.

Formation-wise, SR Tama + R Sekka or PR SR Sumi ranged support, SSR Karin and SR Fuu leaders, and SSR Yuuna and PR Sumi or SSR Itsuki. Keep Karin on your middle front block during the battle to receive any incoming vertex. Put Yuuna diagonally behind her on either side. Put the guest Karin diagonally behind Karin on the opposite end of Yuuna. Look for a Karin + Fuu combo to use. Keep Tama in the back and move her as you need to. Keep an eye out for potions and try to make sure the pairs who need them get them. The micromanaging will be key here, don't let any of the characters stand around in a row where vertex aren't incoming. Fire off all of the hissatsu you can on the boss once it arrives, the first two Karin's if possible. Then make sure Karin is right in front of the boss so she slices it up. Then focus on clearing mobs while one (or two) of your Karins keep cutting up the boss.

I picked a Lv. 82 friend Yuuna but in the end giving Karin R Fuu and pairing Takashima with SR Fuu did the trick.

Tamako's cheap special and ranged weapon helped keep the backline mostly clear and the crit galore from Takashima+Fuu and Karin+Fuu let me skip most of the bullshit and rush straight to the boss with a minute left in the timer. From there it was use some skills to prevent the back row from exploding while Karin wailed on the boss.

I level those I use. And I do plan on getting d8s for Karin, but that's wasn't gonna be for a few days and I wanted to clear the event now.

Going to test this now. In the interest of curiosity, I tried refreshing my Shinju blessings and regenning stamina with Botamochi.

Refreshing Shinju blessings brought it to 16 for a second, then back down to 7. I was at -1 and have a cap of 12. I should've been at 11.

With the Botamochi, I was at -24 energy. I used a 20 energy one. I was brought to -18

I hope installing on something else fixes this, or else my account is seriously fucked.

Yeah the clogged map is a problem, hence the yuuna friend to increase red HP, and my yuuna is paired with sonocchi too for HP boost. Yuuna special skill is the best for clearing the map too thanks to her radius.
Also note that I use R fuu for karin crit buff, while the one from earlier post is SR fuu, that was useless IMO.

I invested all my udon in the event Karin and 3*'d E6-5H with this setup + SSR Yuuna friend. Tama stunned the boss multiple times, which helped greatly, and her special was very useful too. Finished it with yuusha punch in the last 3 seconds.

Well, went from Bluestacks, to Nox, and everything works fine now. No clue what the hell happened with Bluestacks. Getting some choppy audio on Nox, but I'll live. Thanks for the suggestion.
