You usually want to rotate two PAs.

Rising > Nova hits pretty much everything including any leftover mobs and is stronger than just spamming Rising. But its dps is lowered by using Nova in there.

Instead of Nova you can use Ride Slasher if you can get all 4 hits in, or Guilty Break if you don't mind PP (watch out to actually hit with it), or Over End if the boss is down for long enough.

Anyway using Sac Bite instead of GB for movement is definitely suboptimal and weird. It's more expensive,does less damage, and has less range.

Rising Edge is your standard boss DPS really. You can get a good bit more from Ride Slasher if you get all 4 hits in, and a whole lot more from Ignite Parrying but that's mostly it. And Twister Fall but it's even more situational than Ride Slasher.

My boss dps combo was gekka and sakura end type 0 and my mobbing was guren as always. All of my PAs that I use are level 17 on both Hu and Br as well. A basic step JA attack with Hu does almost as much as the guren finisher in a wider arc and I can use guilty break for movement / more killing. On top of that rising edge shits all over sakura end.

Mobbing should be Kanran, guren and Sakura Endo type 0, with KC mixed in. Bossing isn't about just Sakura>Gekka and repeat, it's also about maximizing KC hits with use of guren repeats and Hatou. Also, JG increases your damage output a fuckton.

I've been completely out of the loop for the past month due to real life, what's pso2g's opinions on the ep5 balance changes? If you want to vent about ep5 in general you can reply with that too if you like. On a related note, I've seen people elsewhere claim the force skill tree changes will make buying multiple trees a thing of the past but that still seems wildly inefficient since you would be missing flame charge and bolt save. Nice change for f2p players I guess.

Sega has realized nobody plays tech classes even when they introduced compounds and Summoner. Sega has actually realized that the only reason for tech popularity before was that most other classes were either useless or couldn't fit Force niches at all. That's barely a change without a Ragrants nerf, though that would make things even worse. Sure you can invest in every element now but you can't get Bolt PP Save and Flame S Charge to make casting every element worth it. That's the whole point. Lost of people mean a sliver of the the playerbase and Sega being mad that they can't fix it. Their modus operandi is simple and logical. The class is pretty much dead, fuck its corpse and hope it works. Worst case scenario some tryhards get mad and play something else because they can't stop tryharding. Best case scenario we have a fun class that can actually be used to attract players and less bitching about balance.

As it stands right now Ragrants is still going to be better than matching elements even with some mastery points in your side elements for most content. You don't have to sacrifice too much to get two elements in a tree now but it's not like there's content where that even matters. They would need to go absolutely wild with content having enemies from every element to make the skill tree changes actually be an upgrade. An "upgrade" where you still do piss damage compared to ep4.

This is literally the excuse I've heard from the three people I know who don't play Fo and a fourth person who took a year long break and doesn't play their Fo any more. Either fully commit to letting force get every element on a single tree without it being a garbage build that's sub optimal like what they're giving us or make rainbow palette a forgotten concept. The class being boring as sin is one thing, but people don't even get far enough to complain about that since Force is one of the most annoying classes in the game to gear and mandates three skill trees minimum to get anywhere close to optimized.
