They've increased the amount of environmental kill areas. It feels like they've doubled the amount indoors. Not sure how much has changed outdoors. Doubt it matters much outdoors, too much distance to cover.

How 2 fix

The new patch seems to have added a bug where attacking Jason while he has someone grabbed can cause him to fly off into space and die. You don't get the 500exp bonus but the match ends and Jason is displayed as dead in the endgame tally screen.

Which console? On PS4 quick play lobbies can be hit or miss, sometimes you get a good lobby with lots of mics, other times it's dead quiet.

But private lobbies are usually pretty good, very few people without mics. If you use the community group you can find private lobbies pretty quick. It came in handy at launch when server's were total shit.
