And Hollywood execs are stupid, so they think if they get a PG rating nobody will show up because it'll seem too "family friendly" and not "edgy" enough. So you get instances where they write a safe uninspired summer action movie plot, add in just enough sex and violence to get the PG-13 movie, and call it a day.

Unless the entire premise is a satirical take on the Sonic series as a whole, the only things you said that would really belong in a Sonic movie would be swearing and death (both very sporadic and limited to certain characters).
