She's one of those heroes that's just annoying and unfun to play against like Samuro, Murky or TLV.

I feel like HoTS has good hero design overall, but some of these heroes that are near impossible to kill (Note: not saying they are unbeatable) and only exist just to fucking annoy the shit out of you.

Actually Valeera's role is killing people. High damage and no kills implies you were doing inconsequential healable damage.

Also deaths weigh heavily too so if she died twice and you died 3 times she automatically gets above you in the running (except extreme cases where someone has over 50% of a category done in a match singlehandedly i.e. used to get MVP all the time with Lucio before nerfs with no kills and some deaths because 50%+ damage taken healed.

Keep in mind, MVP grants no extra bonuses or anything, it's just for show.

After trying Mathael in Try mode, I gotta ask, is he as strong as he seems? He has no escape other than psssshing away to something else, and no other engage other than that, and all of his damage is loaded onto his passive, but its a REALLY good passive. It is his entire hero. It is most of his damage without his execution ult. He doesnt have any non-trait defensive abilities, but the ones he has seem good.
Seems strong. 10% hp damage every auto attack? He's like a fucking melee Lunara but without the mobility or range.

He's not that strong, he's basically AOE AP Illidan that does some %HP damage. Most people take the wrong build so it's hard to judge his power, but his winrate is high so who knows what will happen.

He doesn't replace Tychus because he's weaker up front and is melee so is vulnerable to shit that Tychus would not be as ranged. Odin is better than Tormented Souls because of the AOE, and Tychus' trait does 48% of anyone's HP+ in 4 seconds whereas it take Malthael 4 seconds to do 10%. Malthael has mad sustain in a fight, but Tychus has massive range on his as well as better mobility.

Fair point. Do you think theres a place for him in the game then? He seems good at what he does, but his abilities just do no damage. It seems like you could just build him for max sustain, max armor, soul ripping and death mark duration. Just hang around and be a nuisance, then drop a kill confirm execution on someone. Maybe the aoe death mark ult is better though for applying marks to everyone.
Its nice that not everyone that gets released is absurdly broken.

The problem I find with Malthael is even your own team won't know how Malthael works, so you will strike into their team and blow everything, stay alive for a good 8-12 seconds, take all of them to 40% hp, and then die before you team pulls their head out of their asses and engage.

Happens at least once per game since he's been out, and it's definitely not during those "Illidan style chasing them into oblivion" moments either, it's prime teamfights and the team just sits back motionless as I succ off 5 people and they revel in my fancy misty moves.

If you are playing vikings your team has no reason to sit around in lane because you are already getting all the xp. Encourage them to group up as 4 and go push/gank/do objectives

Good viking play is about sitting safely, soaking XP, picking up hearts, and collecting all the XP while your team roams as 4 to gank enemy soakers.
If your team is not getting ganks like clockwork they're not playing properly.
As a vikings player you really want to team-up with a tank player so you can tell your team to follow the tank, since your tank friend presumably knows that he needs to just keep roaming and not worry about minion waves or gates since that's what you're there for.

Yeah you actually just have to be in range when they die. Also applicable to heroes who aren't vikings. If you're low hp or otherwise losing your solo lane badly, instead of trying to hit the minions or enemy hero and possibly risk dying, just sit back at the edge of xp range and stay safe.

As a woman, growing up playing video games, I didn't even realize the effect of lack of options for female characters until recently when we started getting more playable women (not saying we have enough, but it's looking better). I didn't realize how much easier it is to relate to the character, how different the whole gaming experience can be. The same applies to films as well, as you mentioned Wonder Woman. I've read so many posts form women who broke into tears during the action sequences in the movie (I might or might not be one of those women). That's how depraved we've been of non-sexualized female heroes. Watching the movie was like putting glasses on for the first time - is this how good this is supposed to feel like? To feel represented?
And I'm a grown woman. If I feel this way, then I can't even begin to imagine how little girls looking for a role model feel.
This went on to be a bit of rant, but as an avid wow and hots player, I just want to thank Blizzard for the 'strong' (I don't really want to use that term, but for a lacks of a better word) and complex women present in game and in lore. But please, don't stop there. There's still work to be done.

Li Li can't heal outside of her ult.

In terms of warriors, that's already up to 6, and 5 of those can maintank (not Tyrael), so you really should be fine until something gets buffed or nerfed.

If you don't like Gryman, Falstad is nice. He's basically a slightly safer Valla with a global.

I feel conflicted about hero characterization in this game. On one hand, I feel like they really nailed and even improved on some heroes. Leoric is a great example - his character's voice, dialogue, and even the subtle shit like movement is all better than in Diablo 3. I actually tried out the D3 demo because of how well designed he is in hots, and was severely disappointed. Cho'gall has a real personality in hots instead of an ugly triangle that argues with itself. Alarak was always great but HotS just refines it all the more.

Morales on the contrary just feels bland. Would've been nicer if she displayed more hostility to aliens, or interacted with the other SC heroes better than what currently amounts to her saying "h-hey man." All the hots donut steels have a bit of blandness to them but she suffers from it the worst.
