All it has in its advantage is one more point on frontal and side armor and a bit more autonomy. Does this make a huge difference or something? What am I missing? Is Eugen retarded?

The gun is more important than the ATGM.
If a UM shoots a BU, it will do 1.5 damage. The BU will do 2 in return. That's 5 shots to kill versus 7. UM has to get below max range to have a chance. The ATGM lets UM have a chance specifically against BU, but the job of such expensive tanks is to oppress everything else, and UM's lower armor makes it worse at that too.
