the expansions were 20$ each originally, 30$ for the pass, but that was later replaced with a single yearly large update the cost 40$.
cant say what theyll be doing for destiny 2 but we are starting back off with the expansions but we dont know how much content will be in them this time; we might get two smaller content updates or they might be big enough to each be a destiny 1 "large content update"
it is also possible that theyre small expansions with another large update next year followed by two more smaller update passes. essentially, we dont know what their plan for payed content will be moving forward.

tldr: small expansions were historically 20$, if you like they game then get them otherwise you risk falling behind depending on the content. season passes are always cheaper than buying individually

you can also play pvp, the weapon drop rate is pretty decent if that's where you're behind

You're not supposed to grind strikes anymore, that's the old method.

You can literally do any activity and it will get you up to 380, because that's the maximum Light that blue engrams drop at, and blue engrams drop from everything. There's no way that at 280 light you've finished every quest in the game, so go do those.

Endlessly grinding strikes is the least fun way to get to endgame. Don't let the efficiency autists tell you that's the only way to do it.

You can do strikes till 400 honestly. Make sure you constantly get your faction packages. Also, get the bounties from the Iron Temple when you can. Those give tons of rep as well. You can also get fuckin' hundreds of Legendary Marks so if you want you can buy some vendor pieces for a boost.

Why can't there just be an "LFG hiring board" in the central social area which just lists people who put their names up in two giant lists, one LF and one H, where people can sort by ping and pick whoever they want to group up with?
