Nintendo just posted this on their official Twitter. I guess they're doing a quick synopsis on each character.

One thing seems off to me, though.

Are they implying that the Mario Kart Mario and the mainline game Mario are two different Marios, and that the first time the Mario Kart Mario appeared was in Super Mario Kart? Is that why there are so many different Marios in Mario Kart?

Wii U can actually get lobbies going because Wii U players actually post status updates in the thread. Switch players just join the lobby and never post any updates so lobbies stay at 2/12 for hours.

One of the things I don't like about the Switch. It's too minimalistic. They took all the things that was alright with the Wii U (the messaging, community, etc) and just omitted it entirely. It might be added to that phone app later, but going on my phone and signing in and all that junk is just repetitive. There's nothing you can do that has anything to do with the community other than see what your friends are playing and being able to post your screenshots on Twitter. Don't fix it if it isn't broken.

Strange sounds like they just went backwards with the online on Switch, and now they want people to pay for it. They had made so many leaps when it comes to online on the Wii U (being able to send friend requests via IDs, being able to message people,miiverse) and it just sounds like they threw all that out the window.

God I hope that's not for a long, long while.
Despite the amount of added content, Smash 4 really did just feel like Brawl HD.
I hope enough time is spend on Smash 5 to make it feel much more like an actual sequel, like Melee to 64, or Brawl to Melee.

Alternatively, just make Smash Deluxe like everyone expects Nintendo's lazy ass to do.
