I don't know why this post was deleted but alright.

So like there's a bunch of differences really. There are some really obvious major ones though that start to make her more like AC and more like a new character. First of all, she has AC airdash, which means her airdash height is higher than it was in #R, which makes IAD pressure impossible. In addition to this, her 6K has less hitstun so you can't 6K IAD j.P even on taller characters. 6K forces stand so this was a really good tool. The two of these combined makes her pressure game much weaker, much less scarier, her conversions are worse, her mixup is worse because this could force into a left/right crossup mixup via IAD burnkick/DP, etc. 2D also doesn't pop up as high, so using it as a launcher against light characters in combination with her shittier airdash is much harder if not outright impossible. These changes combined make it so that Jam is closer to her AC counterpart in that she cannot convert without resources or getting the proper hits, which very much hinders her damage output because now it's not just landing -A- hit, you need to land the right hit or spend the meter to make your hit not suck.

In Rev 2, IAD burnkick was nerfed so that it doesn't cross up anymore so that's fucking garbage. Xrd IAD DP has fuckall for hitstun so it doesn't convert into damage unless the opponent is crouching, which they would never fucking do if you're IAD'ing at them, so you're never going to convert off of IAD DP unless you charge a card, so that's effectively a tool lost. I say it's effectively a tool lost, because you're NEVER going to charge a card for DP because you NEED to charge a card for burnkick, because card powered burnkick allows you to extend combos and actually get damage and also gives you knockdowns, which Jam needs now, because her mixup is so shit that she needs to get the knockdown to do mixups because she lost all of them.

That got nerfed and also who gives a shit all you're doing is racking up RISC but you don't have any mixup. It still doesn't change the fact that all her tools got butchered and she needs to build resources to do fucking anything. When she has resources she can do plenty of damage, not as much as AC but more than #Reload, but damage isn't the problem.

Also, if you're going to argue with me about all of this let me go ahead and frame my argument for you. I'm not saying Rev 2 Jam is shit. Rev 1 Jam definitely was and even after the patch she was still bad. The jury is still out for Rev 2 Jam, some people are saying she's fine now competitively, and maybe she is. I'm framing my comparison on the design of Jam in Xrd is gimped and not fun, and even if she's viable I don't want to play this version of Jam because almost everything she has is situational and you need to babysit her just about because she's like AC where actually being able to do shit is a chore. You can't just play her, you need to build up all this shit, and then once you do you can finally do shit, but it's not as good as what other characters can do and she's not as oppressive and she doesn't have the mixup as other characters and she doesn't get the AC damage she used to so the reward for all of this shit isn't even as good and in general why the fuck would I play this character when I can play someone else who does all of this shit better?

I quit PSO2 years ago and every time I tried to go back to fightan or console in general other "good" MMOs that I was interested in start coming to the WEST. So I ended up staying with MMOs for a few more years. I was so addicted to MMOs I literally quit the FGC.

I haven't did enough testing with her, but i feel like she can press a button and microwalk up for another button like cammy can, and it creates a strong throw/hit mixup. Although i agree she isn't as good as a lot of other characters, i feel like she's a couple buffs away from being really, really good. Mu general issue with the game is more related to how everything feels like in a mudhole. Walkspeeds are generally slow except for a very limited bunch of characters, normals are stubby and slow, whiff punishing is limited to a limited selection of characters and in general it doesn't feel you're in control of the game.

Reducing the input lag down to something like 4f would be nice, but I fear that the game is designed to be like that "slow, stubby and laggy". The fact combos are so piss-easy is just the most obvious reason, but not the only one.

You'll be fighting the people you should be because of all the game knowledge you should have acquired by the amount of points you've earned. Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.
