I mean on one hand this means one less team who theoretically knows what they're doing to fight against for a slot, but it also means we get to face another wildcard that might have bizarre meme tictacs.

So what happened?
Well, Hitbox got bought out by this Californian company called Azubu. Now, on paper this looks really bad. A quick look at the Terms of Service for Smashcast reveals the following sections:

We'll roll with whatever happens going forward. Hitbox was great to us giving us quality options when we weren't a partenered stream and being generally receptive to us despite 4chan being a bit of a pariah on most other parts of the net. I don't like the new design changes with the exception of theatre mode coming back and I hope they listen to feedback and adjust accordingly.

If they ban us for whatever reason we move on to another site like we did when Twitch kicked us out, we've got a bit of a plan regarding backups already and we're going to keep trying our best to be ready for anything to keep the Cup doing what it does.
