It seems a pretty common trend people forget to use their fortify ability for towers, at both high and low level play. Is this intentional?

Seriously, why couldn't valve change up the hero designs a bit more? You've got not one, not two, but THREE fucking troll/orc/whatever shaman guys, multiple generic bonemenz, countless characters with 'shadow' in the name, etc. etc. New characters are obviously a bit better then that, but it kind of sucks that the old characters are a bit locked into their identity and can't be changed to something more diverse and interesting.

You can turn off pathing using a console command. It forces your hero to try and move in a straight line to where you click, and they stop if something is in the way. The new build is early-mid game oriented, technically the +25 damage is so shit that even if you're rushing BF you still get the magic damage.

Build is Veil into Maelstrom into either Blink or BoT (whichever you need), afterwards you go for either Octarine or even Radiance (don't go Rad). If you think the game is gonna go for very long, like 60+ minutes long, then you can go for BF instead and switch for a physical damage build.

This guy didn't mention Blade Mail but it's pretty commonly picked up too instead of or with the Maelstrom, which btw isn't something you need every game, but if you do get it try to get the full Mjollnir sooner rather than later, it actually makes a huge difference for clearing creep waves with Sleight and Veil.

Your actual core item that you need 100% of the time is Boots of Travel, and you should prioritise that over Veil if you're having a poor game, in which case you may just wanna get an Aquila.

Some other underrated items on him are Eul's, Lotus Orb, and Shiva's Guard. Combined with his move speed talent, Eul's makes him extremely fast, and your move speed directly increases the speed of your remnants. Lotus Orb is another option to purge yourself and works really well with Flame Guard, Blade Mail, and shit like that. Much for the same reasons, Shiva's is awesome too because you can so easily apply the active, and armour on Ember is really strong, especially stacked with that +armour talent at level 20.
