That's not how the graphics work in that game, different animations have different model attachments and hand adjusted shaders, just the story mode model is probably not even half the work done yet.

As for the uniqueness I'm pretty sure the argument was about gameplay uniqueness since the dude was pointing out how Ed is expected to play not how he looks. If you are trying to argue GG characters don't play vastly differently from each other you seriously haven't any idea what you're mumbling about, part of GG's charm (and difficulty) is how every matchup plays so differently.

Just came from playing Soul Calibur 2 HD and I have been talking over with my friend about how has this series evolved throughout the years.

In my humble opinion, the Soul series has devolved into another casual 3D fighter with barely any depth in story or gameplay.
Since SCIV, the gameplay has been riddled with gimmicks and lost focus from the actual fast paced combat previous entries had.

That Capcom are pushing the balance and direction of the game to cater to the spectator more than the player. The game was obviously designed to allow newer players an easier time to getting halfway decent, but they lost that part of the market with the terrible launch and subsequent issues that still plague the game to this day. Combos where you are on the ground and the opponent is kept in a floaty, low gravity state while bouncing up and down from ground attacks is not the general combo structure at all in GG except for Ramlethal. Once the opponent's feet leave the ground (they don't in a lot of combos) you either have to jump and continue the combo midair or utilize a wallsplat move in the corner (if you have one) otherwise the opponent is most likely going to drop to the ground shorty after or worse tech out.

The main reason I continue to play fighting games is because I can get a bunch in, in a short amount of time. This isn't the case with sfv, which is why this would be my biggest issue.

I haven't played in months, but it always felt like I was waiting and the chances of rollback on my end had to be ~1/5. Which turns a 5-10 minute wait between playing an actual match into double that. I'm really just waiting on this mythical "improved net code" patch before I hop back in.
