Haven't played Destiny since Taken King was newish, is Rise of Iron worth picking up? I usually play strikes and farm for exotics most of the time because I don't have friends and can't find groups to raid with. Is it worth the $30 price point? My issue is most of the crucible content is locked behind the paywall and some of the vanguard stuff, especially the daily and weekly challenges. Does Rise of Iron add enough new shit to the game to justify a purchase?

I did. I even got a Praedyth's, which was the last weapon I needed from 390 VoG.
I tried to stick it out and do Atheon but we literally couldn't even get Time's Vengeance once, they were either molasses slow killing Oracles or dying to Sups. One dude literally couldn't figure out how to cleanse. Eventually, someone ragequit and that was it.

You can get like 200+ marks on the first day of reset, I'm pretty sure. And 15 marks per day from Crucible. So you might as well. It is piss easy to get to 400 now though. Blue engrams drop up to 385, I think, and Blue drops from LL350 strikes are up to 390. Faction rank ups can go up to 400. So if you wanna just rank up those. Xur sells stuff at 350 I think.

Well I actually had an image but captcha riped it off.
Either a physical location or a menu option where you set your desired activity, desired class, item level, etc... so people who don't fit that hard criteria can't even enter the party. And then a bunch of soft criteria you can set through checkboxes like clear out everything, speedrun, multiple runs, etc... so people know how you intend to do the activity.
And then there's always you yourself who can make the final decision.
Think of it as a more robust version of LFG. And people always go on that "Oh but there's a site" sure, there's a fucking site, but you have to stop your game switch to the PC, switch to the site, set your recruitment, wait for people to message you, etc... There are better ways for this.

Does it matter what weapon I'm using class wise? I'm a warlock and I'm mostly using a auto rifle and a sniper rifle. Sniper rifles seem to be a hunter thing but they seem OP for stuff like captains.

I noticed all of them have almost the same skill set early on. Grenades, some kind of double jump, melee and special. I thought I'd be more of a ability type as a warlock but it seems the best strategy is to run up to enemies and slap them in the face and full auto/sniper for bosses/elites.

Cooldowns are tied to the Intellect, Discipline and Strength stats on armor. Don't really worry about those until you're closer to max light. There's also not really a caster class nor is there a real tank class. Don't think of the classes in the traditional sense.

I have played enough SW Battlefront to know how easy the transition it is, if you are braindead enough to be in the open during the animation that is not Bungie's fault. Destiny already has this transition in as you said transformation supers but also in swords, TTK Crota's Soul mission which is full third person. Bungie has the resources for this, there is no doubt they could if they felt like it.

SW battlefront is not the game I think anyone wants to be emulating. Swords require no aiming on behalf of the wielder, and the crota's soul mission was entirely stealth based, with no shooting right up until the end. Over and over again it stated how Guardians wield the Traveler's light, in game, in grimoire cards, literally everywhere. Osiris and his followers still wield Light from the Traveler, as do the pacifist guardians Efrideet hails from, as do Sunbreakers. Yes, Sunbreakers wield the Traveler's light. They channel it into the solar variant, same way gunslingers and sunsingers do. They do not get their light from Sol.

Making it look and feel good is far different than just implementing the animations. The overall feel of the guns would be lost. Look at the examples you gave earlier, in SW battlefront, most of the guns feel the same.

If you read the grimoire cards about solar, arc and void light you'd see they are subtypes of light, similar as to how visible light can be split up into a spectrum. They ways you mention are to teach guardians how to channel that sort of light, as they are unused to it. It is still their own Light they are channeling, which, if you read the Guardians grimoire card, comes from the Traveler. Sunbreakes undergo a trial where the knowledge to wield solar Light as a titan is passed on, Ikora teacher the warlock how to use arc Light by having them expose themselves directly to it, and Nightstalkers pick up the mantle from Cayde's friend in the black garden through the guardian picking up the nightstalker's bowI guess? It's not exactly clear on that oneEither way, there's no "pure void energy" in the black garden.
