I'm really cofused. I've done what I thought was all quests in Darkshore a few times and I don't remember that one where you go up to the ruins where all the nelfs are and you attack all those trolls. Is that only for certain races or classes or something?

Similarly, I remember in Elywynn Forest because sent on quests sort of N/NW of Goldshire, with bandits in a house with like a vineyard around it or something, though that doesn't seem to be there anymore. I don't remember that being so long ago it was pre-Cata.

It's this weird political thing that Blizzard have. Originally the orcs were meant to be cartoonishly evil, no nuance, just good old fashioned motherfuckers. Their flag in WC was even clearly meant to invoke the swastika. It's red with a white circle in the middle, with a black icon in the circle.

So then as we know, they later retconned it to be demon blood - even though it's still kind of hard to justify drinking demon blood in order to get more powerful as an innocent thing to do. Thing is, orcs clearly are meant to be evil. I mean in general fantasy terms. It's like writing a fantasy setting with demons, you kind of can't get away from their inherent evilness even if you try to be PC or original with it.

It really hit me when trying to level an orc. I got to Ashenvale or wherever it was and the general narrative was "These elves, who have lived here for 10,000 years and more, are annoying us because as we try to destroy this ancient forest, they annoyingly try to defend their ancestral home - how fucking dare they! Kill them all". At that point I knew I just wasn't a Horde player.
