I love the feeling of starting a new character in DS3. The start of DS3 has a DeS-tier feeling of starting a journey into the unknown and I just fucking love the atmosphere of Cemetary of Ash, the clash of nature, ruins and the absolutely massive High Wall rising in front of you.

If only it would be possible to physically scale the High Wall or get from Lothric Castle to Firelink Shrine. They could've made an entire level out of a road / outpost leading to the entrance of the high wall and let you enjoy a scenic elevator ride up to the top.

You can't really blame your losses on your build or weapon every single time unless you're using a great wooden hammer or something.

I would honestly suggest practicing at Pontiff's. Arenas are a bit more tryhard in my opinion. Plus you are unembered so fights don't last as long, meaning you have fewer opportunities to learn and improve.

Just focus on the basic like spacing, dodging, roll catching, etc...

I can understand not liking Farron Keep and RoS - though I admit I do enjoy RoS quite a bit - but I don't understand how people don't like Undead Settlement. That place is the bomb. Though I agree completely with High Wall + Castle being the best atmospherically overall. Hell I only wish you could go all the way to Twin Princes without killing the other Lords of Cinder since I love Grand Archives aside from the Crystal Sage being an annoying piece of shit for the first half of it. The idea of being able to do Highwall - Settlement - Sacrifices - Cathedral - Castle - Archives every time I make a new character sounds so good since I love each of those places so much. Shit is fantastic.

I looked it up. It wasn't BBS, but I can see why you would think so. The Demon's Souls wiki has the portrait character that wields the weapon in question wearing Selen's armor on its BBS page.

Selen, as a matter of fact, uses a sword called Blind. It's a curved sword with properties similar to the Large Sword of Moonlight.

There's no precise DaS3 equivalent, but the closest physical counterpart is probably the Harald Curved Sword. Very nice design.

What is the best use of the Sunlight Spear?
It seems to me that lightening arrow takes the cake for ranged attacks, since it's fast and cost efficient, and in melee lightening stake is better since it has a small AoE that helps getting players that roll around you.
The only good use for sunlight spear I can think of is when you're 100% sure the player will attack you head on without rolling, and has a slow enough weapon not to roll away once he sees you casting it, so that you can trade with him.
Thoughts? Tips?

I think of it as a digimon tamers kind of thing. souls can be divided in fragments and be consumed, and the person will reincarnate/revive unless their whole soul is absorbed, just like how digimon revive after dying unless another digimon consumes their data. the only problem with the stats is that it doesn't tell you the average level of the HUMAN players, it only gives you the average level of ALL players (someone should contact the guy behind the site to get them to fix that)

Oolacile is a mix of level 60-80 players (hollowed) and a few SL120-130 (human) players that pull the average up, so if you actually stay at SL90 there you won't get much action.

DS2 is worth it, just not full price. You're right to wait for a sale, or ask to borrow a steam copy from a friend to play through once.

But you HAVE to do the following:

1. Turn the default brightness down to ZERO. As low as you can go.
2. Light a torch every time you rest at a bonfire. Every single area in the game benefits (and has mechanics/gimmicks) built around the torch mechanic. Not using a torch is missing out on half of the level.
3. Stay under 50% equip load. Otherwise the game is going to feel super sluggish.
4. Don't return to the bonfire when you're out of estus/spells, use lifegems and herbs and keep going.

Do all that and it makes the game a lot better. It was not intended to be played like DS1 was.

Bosses in Souls are designed to first be Imposing and overwhelming but ultimately "fair", they have a limited amounts of moves carefully designed to leave openings, the games are also designed to be beaten by a lot of different people.

This is how it's designed: First encounter > Die > Second encounter > Adapt(or die again) and continues until you adapt and play by THEIR rules.

Obviously if you adapt during the first encounter you can easily beat the bosses.
