What a pointless endeavor. Weapon tierlist I get; there's so much overlap and 95% of weapons are all trying to do one of three things (single target, wide-range AoE, or narrow AoE). But when you have to put so many damn caveats in your tier list and still end up putting Ember Prime, one of the most widely-used and useful frames in the game for its extremely practical farming, in Low Tier- and granted you clarify the caveat of why she would belong there, being absolutely useless in sorties- butt at some point you have to ask yourself "who is this list FOR?"

I've said this before and I'll say it again: when you start the game, your biggest limiting factor is mods and endo. Your frame choice isn't nearly as important. A frame like Ember can annihilate starchart easily, but she's still going to be terrible for new players because they don't have the mods to make her good. That's why there is no point in making a frame guide towards "new-as-fuck-installed-the-game-last-week" new players.

The guide is intended for players who have progressed to the point that they have basic mods like Flow/SL/Intensify etc. and want to take that next step into sortie-level content.

The "next step" after getting the basics is is grinding relics to rotation C 1, using the relics in rotation A 1 (no one actually goes to C), tater alerts, farming endo (to rotation A 2), farming mods and resources (to rotation C 1) and raids. And there is a build guide for raids already.

Nowhere outside of sortie 2 and 3 missions that you can't rush through (MD, Def, Survival) will anyone ever fight enemies that are higher than level 50.

Your frame guide only tells me what frames to bring to mobile defense, survival and defense sortie 2 and 3 missions.

THE PURPOSE OF THE TIER LIST IS TO SHOW RELATIVE VIABILITY IN SORTIE-TIER CONTENT

That's it. That's literally all it does. HOWEVER, the tier list ALSO includes common meta builds for FARMING, such as NEKROS, HYDROID, SPEEDNOVA, BERE SETUPS, ETC.

The tier list DOES NOT RANK BASED ON FARMING, BECAUSE I ALREADY CHOSE A CRITERIA TO RANK IT ON (SORTIE-CONTENT). Adding extra criteria is only going to muddle things. Sortie-tier content was specifically chosen as the landmark because it's very specific and represents the closest we have to endgame content.

So how's Pandero versus Lex Prime? they seem to be comparable damagewise, at least straight damage. The split on Pandero seems a bit meh compared to lex's mostly puncture, but the crit differences look to possibly make up for it? Basically is Pandero a viable alternative to LexP?

Why do I know this? Because when the tier list was first created, it was exactly that - a usefulness tier list. It had Ember and Nekros in high tier because they were so good for farming, and Hydroid was also higher than he was now. You would not believe the amount of shit people gave me for putting ember and nekros in high tier (and this was Nekros before his rework, when he was legitimately awful). "Starchart missions are too trivial to tier" - that's not an argument I made up. It's an argument other people gave me that persuaded me to change the tier list to only grade based on sortie criteria.

People care more about pulling their own weight in sorties than farming Rubedo 10% faster. You may play the game as an autism mode skinner box farm simulator, but don't confuse your own playstyle for those of others.
