Nerf skill based heroes like Invoker (patch for new players and noobs like you)

Add two runes and bounties, because it's too hard for noobs to keep focus on the river (patch for new players and noobs like you)

Add a timer for the stun duration so you don't have learn spells by heart (patch for new players and noobs like you)

Add a visual with the exact numbers of the damage you're taking, so you don't have to learn how much damage each attack/spell does to you (patch for new players and noobs like you)

Add shrines, so you can regen health and avoid learning to bottle-crow (patch for new players and noobs like you)

And so on...

Yet, there was a huge problem about foreigners queuing on western servers, since DAY 1 of the beta.... and it got fixed... in 2017!

We can see where Valve puts its priorities:

Making the game casual and attracting as many players as possible, to sell more stuff. Easy model, and they're not even hiding it.

It doesn't happen in LoL because lol doesn't have the character diversity to have heroes peak at different timings.
Dota demands you to be consistent, you can't pick an early game dominator and just win. You need to play to the relative strengths of the hero.
If you pick QoP, dominate the early game and then proceed to feed multiple times, you deserve to lose. The hero's strengths were played, and you failed to execute on what makes her strong.
Different line ups have different timings.
Comeback mechanics allow for both early and late game heroes to be viable.
This is because if you execute early properly, you win. If you play late game and minimise your early game losses, you win.
You'd understand this if you weren't a third world retard who didn't understand the first thing about the game he plays.

Gold League of Legends player here...

Started Dota 2 not long ago, because I was told a patch made it closer to League and even more casual, so I went on Steam and installed it.

Verdict?

Game is great. Non-existant learning curve. Easy to be good at. Graphics are way better than LoL. Plus you can watch pros play, directly in the game, which is a great plus.

I highly recommend it if you like games that don't need a lot of practice to be good.

By the way, which hero should I play? I really love the Sniper hobbit.

Dota 2 got way way more casual than League ever was, and here's why.

League always had more players than Dota 2, so Valve had to find a way to attract more players and potentially steal some from LoL. How to do that?

Quite simple. You make the game more casual and accessible, so when people start playing it they are actually getting kills and they feel like they are good. This makes them like the game and stick with it.

No sane person would ditch LoL to go in Dota 2 if you end up getting wrecked every single game, because it takes months of learning and practicing. That was the situation in the early beta days, but the last patches made the game wayyy too much accessible to noobs.

Just played Dota 2 for a few days, after seeing that a big tournament was going on like a week or two ago.

Game is pretty fun and easy. You don't get pennalised if you miss a few last-hits, like it was before. You can just chill and have a great time.

It's easier and more accessible for new players than LoL... Which is a good thing IMO. More casual = more players = shorter wait time to find matches.

What's everyone favorite hero? I personally like the Scorpion one, he is sick as fuck and quite tanky.

The most interesting heroes are Invoker, Shadow Fiend and Storm Spirit. But you need to practice in single player first before ruining people's game online lol. They are hard to play, especially Invo.

Glad to see that League players love the game. It's true that Dota 2 is way more accessible than a few years ago, but it's still fun.
