Distant Counter is an A skill, you don't need a weapon specifically for it. I guess you could argue Heavy Blade as a substitute for a killer weapon effect, but you'll want something with sky high attack first.

By the way, has anyone confirmed if Heavy Blade's effect stacks with Killer Weapons, they technically do different things after all(one lowers base cooldown, the other increases activation counter an extra point). I imagine meme teams with Minerva, Michalis or Elidgan can pull some stupid shit that way.

Outside of red colour-coded mages+dork mages being red almost automatically, blue and green are interchangable when it comes to new anima mages being added to FEH. Easy way to get Xavier: disarm all his subordinates with Tina's thief staff (repair with saphy). Alternatively, use sleep; the civilians can still talk to them. There's a lot of cool tricks that make FE5 manageable.

Aiming for a full roster in a first playthrough is a given, but once you've played a few times it's interesting to try other types of playthroughs.

I believe so, though I'm playing without growths.
When growths are enabled I swap scrolls around like crazy to maximize their effects rather than give them to one specific character.

Machuya is slightly outclassed by others (Shiva, Halvan) after the manter escape, and those "others" are superfluous themselves, but I like using her because she's cool and in FE5 basically any unit is usable.
