Korekiyo is definitely not rich, true. He's probably pretty frugal in his travels.
Maki is likely among the poorer ones though her job keeps her from being in as much of a bad state as Ouma, granted he's a weird case in that it seems his ragged outfit was intentionally made to cultivate an evil image so I'd guess he fended a lot for himself from a young age but he might not have fared too badly after forming DICE, probably stealing just enough to make do.

Yeah, I really liked Maki's arc because while generic, she was well written. But my problem with her is that she only had relation to Kaito and Ouma, and that's only because of her role in chapter 5 and so she has development as a major survivor. It makes a good character like her feel more like a plot device and get overshadowed. Yeah, Korekiyo was fantastic as a villain. there was a lot of foreshadowing to his tulpa backstory and by the time it came, he was so over the top that I couldn't help but enjoy myself. It was a perfect mix between me hating him and loving him. is execution was by far the most satisfying death in the series for me.

I admit Iruma was more of a plot device than Maki, and Maki's not objectively a plot device but she felt such with her relationships, since she seems to only have those relationships since Chapter 5 has got to happen somehow. She spends the entirety of Chapter 3 investigating with Saihara and playing off of him but the two barely had any chemistry(Although, the weight line was pretty amusing)which just proves how poorly her relationships were handled.
Yeah, Korekiyo's incredibly intelligent and his lectures and calm demeanor give off an unsettling, yet pleasant vibe around him, which just makes his chapter 3 reveal all the greater. He's probably the only downright evil DR antagonist that I like(Unless if Angie counts)

Yeah, besides her inventions, I'd actually call Miu the joke character of the game. Don't get me wrong, she's my favorite V3 girl but Kodaka said he wrote her to be hated and it shows. Besides Kiibo (and arguably Ouma, but that's basically entirely regulated to a flashback and the assumption that it was happening out of sight), she forms no relationships with any of the rest of the cast and her extremely crude manner means that literally everyone reacts in pretty much the same way to her instead of her having individualized relationships. Not only did she get no development (besides falling into despair and panic), but she doesn't even get the possibility of getting it before being axed like Tenko or Hoshi. Her inventions make more of an impact then she does, and that's just said.
V3 kind of had a problem with using a good chunk of the girl cast as plot fodder with little character development or relationships- Angie, Miu and Kirumi all fall into that trap, and arguably Kaede as well.

Yeah, Ouma had a lot of dynamic with characters, even if a lot of them were similar. Funny because aside from Monaca and Munakata, Ouma is the only rival to have proper character relationships. Komaeda had Hajime and kinda Chiaki, Kazuichi and Mikan while Togami had a dynamic with Celestia, Fujisaki, Naegi and Kirigiri. I agree with the survivors there. Their arcs were way too similar an that bugged me even if I like all three individually.

I'd actually say that even though on the whole his relationships were antagonistic, most of his connections to the cast were pretty distinct relationships. His interactions with Miu, Korekiyo, Kaito, Maki, Saihara, Gonta and Himiko are all very distinct from each other.I like him better than Komaeda for that reason, and for the fact that he sees the consequences of his actions. He comes across as a more multifaceted character instead of HOPE HOPE HOPE oh wait fuck you DESPAIR DESPAIR DESPAIR to everyone in the cast sans Hinata.

I'd say Tenko has much more of an effect on himiko's development and she definitely comes to value her more after she died then Sonia ever did for Souda. But yeah, it's not this tragic love that Tumblr thinks it is.
Like Saihara's memory of Kaede the memory of Tenko becomes idolized in Himiko's mind and that makes their actual relationship seem better than what it really was.

Trust me, I'm well aware of the perils of saying anything on Tumblr. I also have issues with Ouma and Saihara for that reason, Ouma is certainly quite interested with Saihara but him using 'daisuki' in chapter 4 is honestly not proof of love especially as in bonus mode he say he wouldn't go so far as to throw away who he really is just to become friends if you pick the wrong answer.
Are people really just that deluded? With Juzo's case he was pretty obviously gay especially given his dedication to Munakata, while characters like Ouma and Himiko don't ever show signs of being definitely gay.
