It's funny because people so often cry about muh secret paladin muh cancer pirates etc, but in all honesty because of the huge card pool it's actually surprisingly easy to make a ton of different archetypes OP enough to be viable. Only restriction is having the cards of course.

I've been having a lot of fun with lots of paladin archetypes that simply don't work in Standard like Rallying Blade and Lightfused Stegadon decks.

Goddammit literally every fucking time I decide to try to post towards the end of a thread my post registers JUST after the new thread announcement, muh anxiety
>>
>>175753108

That's why we watch him tho. To be fair I'm glad this Wild tourney whatever-the-fuck thing is happening, Wild has the most possibilities for creativity in deck creation and coming up with new deck ideas is my favorite part of the game. Win or lose I do enjoy watching reynad come up with different ideas rather than faggots like firebat who just say fuck it and play quest rogue, wild version.

How do we fixed ranked?

Are you ok with the fact that there are people out there that can get legend even if they have something like a 51% win record because they have no lives and just dump hours on end to crank out games?

Myself starting out at rank 17 on May 1 would have to roughly play 3 hours a day to just barely get to legend on the last day based on an overall 55% win record, but I am not counting for win streaks helping out from 17-6

Thoughts?

i'd just play casual with something i have fun with, but if you want to be fast it's probably pirate warrior casual.

https://hsreplay.net/decks/

can give you oversight what is successful atm - pirate warrior and hunter decks out of cards most people have and around 2k dust

getting swash and arcane giants won't make a full miracle deck as sherazin is really powerful but should go a long way still

i dont like swash in quest rogue as it pulls patches and patches is much better with southsea when quest is done. many people run 2x vanish and i agree. then there would be a spot left to juggle with for mimic in pod in slower matchups or some removal for faster ones. there are many possible builds despite what ppl say. but firefly + igneous and coldlight + vanish always go hand in hand and should be considered

last month i started playing more seriously and used the list in pic to up my best ranking from 9 to 2, so take all i say with a grain of salt and make up your own mind i guess.

list features shuriken that gives additional 5/5 after quest, additional board before quest and doubles with razorpetal / backstab to lower the health of taunts to 5 or activate igneous if the opponent refuses to let it die already.

shiv is bad, FoK gives same damage over board, costs 1 mana more and draws a card as well - helps against aggro. it's possible to build something without the elementals, adding a mimic pod or two and go with bloodmage+backstab+ fok / evis. takes longer on average to complete quest but gives more survivability.

A 55% win record at rank 17 won't translate to a 55% win record at rank 2... I hit Legend last season and my win rate from ranks 18 through 10 was over 70%, and I hit 5 really quickly as well. Hearthstone should seriously have an entry price (lets say 20$, then give 20$ worth of packs to start up) so that people would shut the fuck up with the "f2p" part. Seriously, f2p is basically a demo-tier strategy, it is never expected that the player stays "free".

Trump is doing that right now. He's using the account he used to get on the arena leaderboard as his free to play account, and claims a player playing for about 2 months should have enough gold/dust to craft the decks he crafted and make it to legend

lmao how much hours is that? Like what, 1h per day? ~60h to maybe have a deck for legend? The average videogame doesn't even provide 60h of entertainment, imagine playing for ~60h before starting to be somewhat entertainment (or rather frustrated, because this is HS and HS is shit even at legend)
>>
>>175763554
my own f2p experience is from 9 to 2 last month and what i see is ppl misplaying more or less shit than i do rather than them winning because they have the better cards.

https://hsreplay.net/decks/CKuyzM6OQPzTLEeLnObxfh/#tab=overview

around 5k dust. reaching r5 first month you are able to craft a 59% WR deck a month or two later. if i just throw money at the game or blame others while playing shit i sure won't hit legend imho

>>175763698
yes, he was able to get so much dust in one month to craft a lyra deck, so where is the problem?
>>
>>175763947
I don't even know why players would think its okay to reach legend with a free, or rather, very basic deck. Then whats the point? Ho does the company make money? Of course its going to require a few cards and some good time, or money, investment. Its common sense.
>>

f2p guy here since release. Of course I made it to legend, but its shit and you really dont want to do the grind. Rank 5 is perfectly acceptable for the monthly rewards, beyond that is just frustration for nothing.

Also, I would never recommend to play free for anyone starting today (or in the past months), the grind is NOTworth it.
>>
>>175763964
The average videogame also isn't free. Pay 60 bucks once and you can make a decent deck with the dust you get.

>>175764074
Most players cant even reach legend at all, why does anybody think that getting it with a f2p account should be an easy task?
>>
>>175763964
Are you seriously complaining that that's too many hours? As a free to play player in today's age, expect to get fucked. The fact that even at 2 months he is able to craft 3 budget decks should say something about accessibility. (Not 1, 3 decks)

Yep. Morons can't understand this. Like 2% of players are even playing at rank 5, and you need a pretty high win rate vs that field all the way through to Legend, which takes a long ass time.

If you can maintain a 55% winrate from rank 2, you're outskilling 99% of the HS playerbase.

Still... if you took an average rank 15 player and dropped them at rank 2, they'd sink like a stone with a 30ish % winrate.

I autoconceded to every Mage on the way to rank 5.

I'd rather have to win two games rather than play an entire game against that fucking abomination of a class. There isn't a single smidge of fun to be had in a match against Mage, all you do is bang your head against a wall of spells that can easily keep you from playing ANYTHING for 6+ turns, and once you finally are able to play it, it can keep it from attacking for 4 turns before finally bullshitting its way to a win with a 8 mana pyroblast.

How do you even manage to create such a fun-sucking class? It's impossible to outcancer it. Playing against it feels like being punished.

It has the same kind of shitty matchup spread like in MSG. Either decks you do fine against or straight up counter (slower paladins, burn mage, taunt warrior), or decks that straight up kick you in the dick (aggro druid, quest rogue, aggroshit in general).

Probably not the best choice for climbing because of its counterpick nature and the fack that the deck itself is also pretty slow.

Okay, so you got your ass kicked against a Freeze Mage? Let's see the possible counters:

>Pirate Warrior/Token Druid/Zoo Warlock shit on it with good draw (unless the Mage runs Volcanic Potion or discovers 4-mana Blizzard from Primordial Glyph)
>Anaconda/Jade Druid shits on it with pic. related + Feral Rage
>Midrange Hunter shits on it because it can place stuff on the board faster than the Mage can clear it + use hero power way too many times before the Mage can draw his deck
>Taunt Warrior shits on it because of all the armour
>Priest shits on it with Priest of The Feast after Alexstrazsa
>Paladin continually has board control and shits on it with well timed Ragnaros the Lightlord

Try playing it yourself a couple of times, the winrate is 55% AT BEST

For 60 bucks you shouldn't get one deck, you should get every single card in the game.

Having one deck in a card game is like having the first four minutes of a tutorial in a real game.

>Is this your first card game?

There is literally no valid reason why card games should be more expensive than other genres. If anything, they should be WAY cheaper than any other genre because they're way easier to program and design.

If Blizzard charged one dollar for 50 packs, it would be fairly close to sane pricing. Still a waste of money mind you, but at least you'd be wasting a modest amount of money instead of fucking fortunes that would buy you new cards and top-end PCs.
>>

Don't worry, that's the plan; except they'll milk for whatever it's worth.

Imagine good game design where you get to play class PVE missions to obtain the corresponding quests. Not like they don't know about it, adventures did exist.

They can't be bothered to actually work on the game, so inclusion doesn't matter. Just milk people already hooked as much as possible and shit out 400-500 new cards per year.

Coming from any other card game the ability to pay 2 life to draw a card once per turn, at any time, should be insanely powerful.
But instead you're just left pulling 1/2's or things that require you to toss your hand or board to summon. Which I'd be, you know, okay with if it ever felt like discarding was a good thing.
Even the Lakkari Sacrifice takes SEVEN cards thrown away just to get a 5 mana card that gives 2 imps every end of turn. It needs to be easier to cycle cards. As it is you either can't force yourself to discard, or when you can they've killed your 1/3 that lets you draw back.
Magic and Yugioh both have nailed the "burn your own deck" theme more the once, why is it so hard for Blizzard to figure it out?

I'm the person you replied to. I guarantee you don't play neither Dota 2 nor CS:GO, just talk shit.

http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Patches

Look at the frequency with which the game is updated, and the bold "update" means a major game-play patch. Sometimes, they fix issues the following or even the same day it's raised on reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/51unsk/holy_shit_valve_acts_swiftly_suggested_on_reddit/

Not only the game gets continually updated, but players get new paid cosmetics and other content all the time. The world championship (TI7) will be held in August and players will have the option to get a lot of random shit for $10. Here's last years:

http://dota2.gamepedia.com/The_International_2016_Battle_Pass#Rewards_Chart

It has stats-recording, replay system, option to start playing from a certain point on a replay, tournament mode, other play modes, private lobbies online, private LAN lobbies, fresh-looking UI, colour-blind mode, in-game Twitch streaming, in-game spectating etc.

These are things Blizzard could implement, but don't. Also, they will never be able to make balance changes due to the game not being free and the outrage it will spark straight away:

>Buffs: "OMG, I FUCKING DUSTED MY BOLF RAMSHIELD, THAT'S NOT FUCKING FAIR, I WANT A REFUND!"
>Nerfs: "OMG, I JUST CRAFTED KAZAKUS, THAT'S NOT FUCKING FAIR, I WANT A REFUND!"

Because they can't make changes to old cards, and the meta must update with each expansions, they will simply shit out more and more OP cards to make the old ones unplayable.

So as someone who's played Dota 2 for 10 years and plays Hearthstone on my smartphone, your point is fucking garbage. Dota 2 is literally the best business model for any game to date, and you named it as an example for the opposite.

No, the card is bad as is, it might be better if the raptors just replaced your deck rather than just being in the deck itself or maybe give carnassa + the raptors charge, because as is what usually happens is you play carnassa, she gets frozen/poly/follow the rules'd, then you draw one raptor, draw a card, and you get an alley cat or some shit

DotA 2 hasn't been out for ten years senpai. DotA gets a major patch, ie serious meta changing, maaaaaaybe every sixth months. Everything else is slight balance tweaks. The new cosmetics are 99% produced by outside sources, not valve.

All that other shit you mentioned is material nobody who actually plays the game gives a shit about and the majority of that shit existed in DotA uno.

I'm not defending hearthstone or Blizzard in any way, they are more faggotish than valve, valves just doing catching up to being as lazy and Jewish as Blizzard.

Right so far, but I have a better proposal:

>The people with the lowest 3 win records get to do the sucking

It gets better:

It's definitely not the easiest deck to play, but I have been able to beat the aggro decks. One of the losses I do remember though was from a warrior who played like 2 minions and had all the weapons and weapon upgrades, just smacked me in the face over and over and I had no big Edwin plays or anything. It's also really had to make room for tech in this deck against certain classes since wild has people playing all sorts of shit. I've already taken it to rank 2 in wild this season though.

>DotA 2 hasn't been out for ten years senpai.
Meant to write "Dota", been playing since 5.84b, so from 2005.

>ie serious meta changing, maaaaaaybe every sixth months.
Literally, nothing wrong with that. It's a competitive e-sport and there are 3-4 major tournaments throughout the year. You can't simply shit out patches every month. At the same time, you can't create "perfection" and leave as it is (Starcraft is an example of boring perfection) because it gets boring and doesn't retain your audience long term.

>The new cosmetics are 99% produced by outside sources, not valve.
Good business model. Game is still free to play.

>All that other shit you mentioned is material nobody who actually plays the game gives a shit about
People evidently give a shit about compendiums if valve manages to raise $80mil on compendium related purchases. And I'd like those features in hearthstone. No interesting modes (just Tavern Brawls, that even that is being taken away), no replays, no tournament mode, no stats tracking.

>valves just doing catching up to being as lazy and Jewish as Blizzard.
They've done mistakes in the past, like Team Fortress 2 (FPS MOBA got taken over by Overwatch, since they never released TF3), but Dota 2 is still shitting on most other online multiplayer games on one aspect. It's genuinely free to play.

Back in the day, I was really looking forward to completing a set and it intrigued me more. Now, I simply don't give a shit. I don't mind other people having nice hats, but if it bothers someone they can disable hats altogether.

From game-play perspective, I don't really enjoy it (still play it) - it makes me more salty than relaxed. But ever since I started playing HS my appreciation for that game increased 1000%. That's why I sound like a shill, HS is just greedy.

I don't understand how anyone with a 3 digit IQ can spend enormous amounts of time and energy into become a hearthstone professional. Yeh, I know there's a lot of skill in the game, and I will defend that, but the ceiling is so low that when it comes to strong player vs strong player it really is 90+% luck. Also the commentators are so annoying; I'm able to tell by turn 3 in most of these games who's going to win and they keep assplaining all the possible "outs" that the losing side ca play. This would be fine if the "outs" actually led to a potential victory, but in most cases they extend the game a turn or two and lead to the exact same checkmate situation.

I dunno, just feels like one of the worst possible things to dedicate your life to, lol. There are lots of esports where the better player will win nearly every time... dunno why you wouldn't play one of those.

Not an argument, shitdump.
>>
>>175800653

There is. You've never finished rank 1 legend; you've never done well in a tournament, you've never even hit legend most likely. You don't know anything about the skill gradient because you're a dumb shieldbearer.

That said, the skill caps out quicker than probably any other esport or competetive venture so you end up with hundreds of evenly matched players who can all win a major event, with their games coming down to basically draw rng and other random effects.

As for shieldbearers like you, there's a reason some players consistently climb to legend with 70% winrates and you've never touched 5.
>>
>>175800653
There's enough skill involved to be bad, not enough to be really good.
>>
>>175800765

It's totally an argument. You told me that I said something I didn't say, and I explained to you that, in fact, I never said it. I even helped you understand why you might have made the mistake in the first place, and gave advice on how to avoid making it again in the future.

What are you talking about? That wasn't me.
>>
>>175800875

There's enough skill to be quite good overall, but there's not enough skill for any one player to be dominant.

The other two competetive games I follow are SSBM and Chess, and in both cases there are CLEARLY top players who are simply better than everybody else. They don't win every single event, but the number of people who are capable of winning a major event is well below 20 for both games. In HS the number is probably in the hundreds, and it's pretty lame.

Decent game, decently challenging and skill intensive (to a point), really low ceiling, godawful esport.
>>
>>175800826
>You've never finished rank 1 legend; you've never done well in a tournament, you've never even hit legend most likely

Give me 4000 packs so I can craft every HS card and we can talk.
>>
>>175801093

Why would we talk? You've clearly never actually been to rank 15 or lower have you? After a point every single opponent you face has a full top meta deck. Having "all the cards" isn't functionally different from having "enough" cards to craft a tier 1 or tier 2 deck and running with it. Card quality isn't the difference maker between a rank 15 (the ladder rank) and rank 1 LEGEND, finish. Don't be retarded.

Card quality does matter a lot, btw. If you have bad cards or incomplete decks the furthest you're clearly going to be hindered. That doesn't mean that building a good deck will make you a rank 1 legend player, lol.

Even with those 2 stipulations, you could save dupe legendaries for your friends who need them instead of downgrading to an epic. You're hyperbolizing your point, making it moot. No one but 3 people will end up being rank 1 legend at the end of the month, and no one but a handful would have held the spot at any point. So it doesn't just take skill to get to rank 1 Legend, it also takes RNG.

When you make a point about skill, you have to give an example about something you can RELIABLY reach, like rank 5.

Your point:
>You can't reach legend 1 with just cards, you need skill also.
You need cards, skill AND rng.

My correction:
>There are plenty of net-decks at rank 13, but they struggle to reach rank 5 because they are shit. It takes cards + skill (but not necessarily RNG) to reliably reach rank 5.

>>175802596

>When you make a point about skill, you have to give an example about something you can RELIABLY reach, like rank 5.

You can hit rank 5 with a sub 50% winrate against players in rank 6. It requires some skill as well, but hitting rank 1 legend requires MUCH more.

Did you know... and I'm just gonna throw this out there for you to ponder in your retard brain but uh... if you hit rank 1 legend it means you also:

>hit rank 5
>hit rank 4
>hit rank 3
>and so on...

! So, yeh, if you can get all the way to Legend, climb from 8000 legend to a point where you're IN THE RUNNING for a rank 1 finish (say, top 100), you are SIGNIFICANTLY better than dumpster Legend, and unbelievably better than rank 5.

>>There are plenty of net-decks at rank 13, but they struggle to reach rank 5 because they are shit. It takes cards + skill (but not necessarily RNG) to reliably reach rank 5.

Okay... but it ALWAYS takes more skill to hit rank 1 Legend. I just used rank 1 Legend as an example because it's the most difficult ladder finish possible.

>Fair enough, but Legend 1 player is not necessarily less able than than legend 3, 5, 8 or 20 (the spot changes all the time, after all)

Sure, but I've hit legend several times and I've never even touched triple digits... the difference between dumpster and DOUBLE DIGIT LEGEND is enormous, and it comes down to skill.

You're so fucking retarded, it hurts my head. I'll break it down, so you can fucking understand.

He claims:
>I lack cards to reach a higher rank. Give me cards, and I'll improve significantly, since this game takes no skill.

Your counter:
>Actually, you can't reach Legend 1 with just cards. You also need skill, which you may or may not have, but you probably don't since Legend 1 requires TOP NOTCH skill.

And that's a moot example because someone can say:
>Actually, you can't reach Legend 1 with just cards + skill. You also need luck, which you may or may not get, but you probably won't since Legend 1 requires TOP NOTCH luck.

I don't have a problem with anything else you said, so I won't address it. My point is that to strengthen your argument about skill is to give an example that depends reliably on skill with average RNG. What you could have said:

>Top 20 Legend
>Top 99 Legend
>Top 200 Legend
>Top 8000 Legend
>Rank 1
>Rank 3
>Rank 5

All of which can be reached RELIABLY. But keep holding onto "rank 1 legend" like some blind hobo for a stick. Ctrl + F it, you mentioned it like 3-4 times and it's a bad example. Fucking hell.

This is actually just sad...

You need THE MOST skill to hit rank 1 legend, hence using it as an example as a rank which requires skill. You don't need more skill to hit 5, that makes no sense at all. There is no single ladder rank that requires MORE skill than rank 1 legend, though I'll admit that 1 through 100 legend probably require equal skill.

There are players who consistently finish in the top 100, and they are the most skilled players. Of them it comes down to good luck which of them hit rank 1, but it's not relevant to the point I'm trying to make: that skill exists in Hearthstone and it determines your rank finish more than card quality.

>My point is that to strengthen your argument about skill is to give an example that depends reliably on skill with average RNG. What you could have said:

Why are you so stupid? Are you arguing that rank 20 legend requires more skill than rank 1 legend? Rank 1 legend requires the exact same skill necessary to hit rank 20 legend, but in addition you also need to be quite lucky. So what?

I'm sure you won't understand my argument because you're very stupid...but Christ man, it bothers me that I share a planet with people like you, and that you no doubt apply this retarded level of logical thinking to all the decisions you make in your day to day life.

Pokemon TCG Online is actually pretty damn good about this. You can browse trades that are up, look for specific things or put up your own trade. You can trade one card for another card, several cards or even packs, the whole value is determined by the community, basically.

The only problem with this is that the game is basically just to promote the actual physical game, so you can't trade cards acquired with ingame gold, only cards you got from packs from codes present in physical packs (or bought through ebay or whatever) or packs you won from ingame tournaments that you use tickets for.

Too bad I don't really enjoy playing the actual game on the pc and the client is kinda trash.

Third party here.

You don't actually have any arguments. You just repeat the same shit over and over again. Every time someone counters your argument, you respond with some variation of "lol you're retarded...", and then you repeat the same shit again. Then you go on about how you're smarter than them or whatever other coping mechanism. The whole thing comes off as very childish.

You never actually add anything new to the discussion, you just continue to repeat "Hearthstone takes skill because the same people finish top 100 every season" trope. The reason you see the same people in top 100 is because they play more than anyone else. The difference between a dumpster and a top 100 is time invested and nothing more.

I don't think anyone has argued that Hearthstone truly takes zero skill; rather, the argument throughout the thread was that the level is skill was so baseline and accessible that any dipshit could make Legend (and they do) if they just put the time in. Once you have achieved that base line level of skill, the rest is a matter of time invested.

This logic extends to top 100, but the situation is muddied by deck selection and counter queuing. You can regularly listen to streamers complaining that your standing in ranks 1-100 is largely a matter of luck when everyone is making the final grind on the last day of the season. The person who makes rank 1 legend mid-season is rarely the person who finishes rank 1 due to the chaotic nature of the ladder system, which further dethrones top 100 legend as a metric of player skill. Rank 1 legend is awarded to the person who was willing to throw the most dice at the right time of day, so it literally means fuck all in terms of skill.

tl;dr fuck you.
>>
>>175805724
>You need THE MOST skill to hit rank 1 legend
>though I'll admit that 1 through 100 legend probably require equal skill.
This is the problem. Even if you have "THE MOST skill" as the top legend players do, you can't reliably hit rank 1 Legend.

>skill exists in Hearthstone and it determines your rank finish more than card quality.
True. But you can have full collection, play without mistakes, have meta awareness and still be unable to reliably reach Legend 1, I am just repeating myself.

>Rank 1 legend requires the exact same skill necessary to hit rank 20 legend, but in addition you also need to be quite lucky.
YES, YES, YES, DING DING DING!!!! WINNER!!!

>So what?
It weakens you argument since this statement is false:
>If you have card quality + perfect skill, you can finish rank 1.
His argument was:
>Hearthstone doesn't take skill.
And your response was:
>There is. You've never finished rank 1 legend; (you've never done well in a tournament, you've never even hit legend most likely.)
My response was to the first point.

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED AT RANK 1 DOES NOT MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE SKILL. THEREFORE, THAT POINT IS MOOT.

I won't insult you, but you're frustrating to deal with and your father was probably a homosexual donkey.
>>
>>175805724
>You need THE MOST skill to hit rank 1 legend
Except multiple streamers who have reached rank 1 themselves said otherwise.
>>
>>175808108

>This is the problem. Even if you have "THE MOST skill" as the top legend players do, you can't reliably hit rank 1 Legend.

The initial argument was that card quality essentially determined your rank finish. I countered this by citing the highest possible rank finish and explaining that achieving this requires more than simple card quality, it requires an enormous level of skill. Your reeponse to my argument was to say:

>NO, NO, IT REQUIRES THE ENORMOUS SKILL, AND THE CARD QUALITY, AND AN ADDITIONAL LUCK FACTOR BECAUSE ONLY THREE PEOPLE CAN REACH IT EACH SEASON

So your point doesn't actually contest anything I said about skill, now does it? Rank 1 legend requires, in addition to enormous skill, a final layer of RNG because, as you've pointed out, the amount of people at any given time who have the skill to hit rank 1 legend far exceeds the number who actually do (always 3).

>True. But you can have full collection, play without mistakes, have meta awareness and still be unable to reliably reach Legend 1, I am just repeating myself.

>JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED AT RANK 1 DOES NOT MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE SKILL. THEREFORE, THAT POINT IS MOOT.

Ah, I think I see where you're struggling to understand my position. You're interpreting my statement as requiring someone to hit rank 1 legend before they could be said to have demonstrated skill. I didn't mean to imply that, and I don't think my wording implies that, in all honesty. I simply took the highest possible ladder finish achievable and announced that it requires skill.beyond card quality. If it also requires an additional level of RNG that's totally beside the point, it's still the most difficult ladder position to achieve.
>>
>>175808243

Fuck meeeeeeee

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkiiiiing stuuuuuuupid peeeeeeeeeeople

Rank 1 legend is the LADDER FINISH which requires the MOST SKILL. Are you telling me that rank 2 legend requires MORE SKILL than rank 1 legend? It can require equal skill, but not more. I'm not saying the most skilled person ALWAYS hits rank 1 legend; I'm saying that, out of all the ladder finishes obtainable, rank 1 legend is demonstrably the most difficult

Fuuuuuuuuck, I'm gonna stop responding soon because daaaaaaaaamn ya'll are some retards.
>>
>>175809035
>rank 1 legend is demonstrably the most difficult
No. Rank 100 upwards is 100% down to luck. HS at the very highest ladder is down to luck and ability to play HS for prolonged hours and not make mistakes. That is all. Someone who queued aggro into quest mage isn't more skillfully at the top you moron.
>>
>>175808087

Christ I hate that everyone is so dumb, but okay... I'll go again.

I never said that rank 1 legend requires more skill than rank 50 legend. I said that rank 1 legend is an example of the highest possible ladder finish and that it's achievable only through skill which has little bearing on card quality.

>the argument throughout the thread was that the level is skill was so baseline and accessible that any dipshit could make Legend (and they do) if they just put the time in. Once you have achieved that base line level of skill, the rest is a matter of time invested.

I'm not sure where the argument about "getting to Legend" has been in this thread, but I haven't participated in it, so I'm not sure why you're bringing this up.

>"Hearthstone takes skill because the same people finish top 100 every season" trope. The reason you see the same people in top 100 is because they play more than anyone else. The difference between a dumpster and a top 100 is time invested and nothing more.

You're completely wrong. I'm a dumpster legend and I'm not even in the same universe as the people who finish top 100 every season. The fact that you're making this claim tells me that you know quite literally nothing about the game, and I doubt you've hit Legend at all, to be honest. So I don't see how you're an authority on HS, lol. You're an idiot.
>>
>>175809197

You're still not listening. You're not capable of understanding because you're stupid, so this is my last post directed at you.

>rank 100-1 legend will be filled, at any given time, by people who are all roughly the same skill level
>who finishes rank 1 will thus be determined by factors beyond skill; who gets good matchups, who gets good draws, who gets good RNG
>that being said, there is no single ladder finish that demonstrates a higher skill than rank 1 legend
>this is not to say that hitting rank 1 legend PROVES that the person who did so is playing better than rank 2 legend, it's only demonstrably clear that NO RANK BELOW RANK 1 LEGEND can be proven to be MORE DIFFICULT than rank 1

Do you understand? I chose rank 1 as an example because it is the obvious pinnacle. You can't point to any other rank and demonstrate that it's more difficult than rank 1. Hence my choosing it as an obvious example of a rank which requires skill to achieve. Some of the ranks below 1 can demonstrate EQUAL skill, but no rank finishes can demonstrate MORE SKILL.
>>
>>175808108
>>175808243
>>175809197
>>175809284
>>175809535

Basically, here's the crux of the issue before I stop humoring you tards:

>no rank finish can demonstrates MORE skill than rank 1 (though many could be said to be equal), so it makes perfect sense to use a rank 1 finish as an example of a ladder target that requires THE MOST skill. Hitting rank 20 legend, or rank 10, or rank 2, may require just as much skill as rank 1, but it CAN'T require MORE.
>>
>>175809535
Wrong you moron. The line is so blurred from top 100 onwards, that is it 100% luck at that point. You can point to top 100 and say yes that takes skill but you can't point to legend 1 and says that takes skills. Even the people who reached legend 1 says it is more down to luck of the game and luck of the matchmaking. Jesus christ you are so fucking stupid.
>>
>>175809721

... you're hopeless. You actually do not have basic reading comprehension.
>>
>>175809712
You can be more skillful and finish lower because you got fucked by RNG or queued into the wrong matchup moron.
>>
>>175809721

>You can point to top 100 and say yes that takes skill but you can't point to legend 1 and says that takes skills

If top 100 takes skill then top 1 BY NECESSITY takes AT LEAST equal skill.

Fuck me... you guys need to go back to school and invest in some critical thinking, reading comprehension. and logic education. This is really sad.
>>
>>175809721
Not him but you are a fucking retard. You are probably the same guy from last thread and earlier in this thread that stated that hearthstone took no skill at all.

Now look at where you are, backed into a corner arguing some fringe specificity about skill that you are STILL wrong about.

While Cave Rogue isn't a broken deck, I predict that it will have a slightly higher winrate at Legend this week- well actually maybe about the same because the meta is less so specifically targeting it now but late season is aggro central for fitting games in. It's still a top tier deck. Anything that is over 48% and some change is a more than viable deck for legend climbing, and there are more than enough decks that fit that criteria right now. People should just fucking play what they want, it's all similar right now.

I still don't understand why Secret Mage hasn't blown up yet, it's a really fucking good deck that takes the spot of old Tempo Mage as a viable fast Mage deck, it's ____fun, and it even runs breast waifu. You don't quite have all the tools to win every single game like Gunter Mage, but you snowball so often that it doesn't matter and there are definitely still comeback mechanics if you're smart.

I'm the original dude that started this whole shit and the one you replied to in this post.

>You're interpreting my statement as requiring someone to hit rank 1 legend before they could be said to have demonstrated skill.
Yes, let's agree on this.

>I didn't mean to imply that, and I don't think my wording implies that, in all honesty.
You mentioned it 4 times, that's why I thought it did. I'm not saying you mean it, I'm just saying it's pointing to that implicitly.

>I simply took the highest possible ladder finish achievable and announced that it requires skill.
I found this to be bad etiquette since you could have picked a much more appropriate one with a lower bar. Let's look at the strength of those statements.

>You're not a good runner, you can't even outrun Usain Bolt.
>You're not a good runner, you can't even qualify for the Olimpycs.
>You're not a good runner, you can't even win a local town competition.
>You're not a good runner, you can't even outrun a 3-year old child.
>You're not a good runner, you can't even outrun a snail.
>You're not a good runner, you're disabled from the waist down.
The lower you go, the stronger the point. The top point is barely saying anything because it applies 7.437 billion, so it naturally applies to some random person.

Anyway, a lot of faggots started replying, and I'll end it at this. I got a random drop Aya which I didn't have, so I'm pretty happy I'll be able to try Jade shaman now.
>>

>You're not a good runner, you can't even outrun Usain Bolt.

>You're not a good runner, you can't even win a local town competition.
>You're not a good runner, you can't even outrun a 3-year old child.
>You're not a good runner, you can't even outrun a snail.
>You're not a good runner, you're disabled from the waist down.

Except this isn't right, a more appropriate analogy would be:

Person A - Running requires NO skill, give me the best shoes and I'll show you

Me - lol, sure dude, get the best shoes and outrun Usain Bolt, running requires a lot of conditioning, skill, and technique

You - ACTUALLY AT TOP LEVEL EVERYONE IS SO CLOSE IN TRAINING AND CONDITIONING THAT THE TOP FINISHER ONLY WINS ON GENETICS RNG, YOU SHOULD PICK A LOWER TARGET BECAUSE NOBODY CAN BE THE BEST RUNNER WITHOUT GOOD RUNNING GENETICS REEEEE

See why you sounded stupid all thread?
