The biggest change I want from him is to be able to post his LMG on certain objects. That way his legs get protected. So you either have the option to place the turret anywhere in the room OR be able to post it on waist high/ vault able objects.

Do you think this addition would be to overpowered? Right now in a game all about mobility and where headshots are king, Tachanka is in a bad situation. He is still vulnerable to grenades and stuff. Unless you spend the resources like Jaeger's gadget. Still Cap's bolts can still fuck him over. If you add this though I would remove his access to the shield so that he would need to rely on other operators to bring a shield. Like they did with Thermite by removing his nades and breaching charges.

It is this kind of "nerf" that I advocate with Glaz. Remove his smokes so that he has to rely on others.

Overall what do you guys think on some of these points?

Simply allowing Tachanka to rapidly move around and redeploy his LMG would improve him above his current status of being a joke pick.

I feel like having to improvise on spawns makes the game more interesting. Instead of defaulting to perfect strategies you have set up for individual objectives, you either have to come up with strategies that work on the majority of objectives or atleast a certain number of ones you would likely be set to spawn on.

Since the Attackers don't know which possible defense sites you may end up on, you and them are making decisions on counter picks based on pure mindgames, instead of "Well they are probably on basement so let's build our attack team like this"

I enjoy this level of unpredictability, except on maps like Favella (Top Floor) or Yacht (Bridge) where bad spawns can just utterly fuck you completely, since they are almost impossible to defend with a perfect set up anyways

Knives are cool and all but there's no way to incorporate that without it being dumb as fuck. 1 knife to kill would be super unrealistic and not fit at all considering people can survive shotgun blasts at close range, and a realistic damage model with a knife would mean youd have to throw 15 to get a kill.

I had a 3 stack of these gorillas with 300 ping that spawn rushed like complete faggots and were just raping our team with peeks that nobody could see before it was too late. Somehow we were keeping even at 3-3 then one of them used some exploit that froze the game in the operator selection screen and told us to abandon. Nobody did, then 15 minutes later we played super aggressive and won 5-4.

I think the best way to balance this stuff is that if the objective if being taken/bomb being defused, it should be fair game for defenders to move outside. This way they can actually defend their objective without giving their position away completely. It would also stop the spots like Packaging on Favela and Front Door on Consulate from being so hard to defend.

During an actual fight however no it's not important, you just shoot to kill.
