Gaiden had a good concept for a story, but was limited by being on the NES.

Echoes has basically taken that concept and made it into a really solid story with quite a lot of characterisation similar to the GBA supports I want to say.

Also adding new characters, Memory Fragments to look back at certain events, and then there's DLC which will highlight the Deliverance before Alm took the helm of the group.. I think that's what some of the DLC is for anyway.

I think it's exactly because the class variety is ass that only having one type of special promotion for females and one for males or something giving one to each class is better.

Like in Fates every magic girl has to become a Witch if you were to have enough seals, but with this, if you wanted to say make Faye physical, you'd have the option between Geirolul and Mach, or if you went magic you can go Morgana or Titania, gives you more variety. It is kind of weird they have them all separate though instead of in packs.

I'm gonna give you heads up on two things, now having completed Infantry/Armored/Cavalry/Flying team "no deaths x15"

1) You can manipulate the 10th Stratum's team before selecting by fighting the Starting Stratum or do an Arena battle. This is more a reminder. Just do it until you see colors and numbers of units your team can take if your team isn't OP.

2) The 10th Stratum knows. It knows EVERYTHING and it is out to FUCK YOU UP. It knows to have 2 Reinhardts in play and to never pick a map that benefits your cav team. It's a little dirtbag that rigs its own RNG to give itself the ultimate "fuck you" units from it's little pre-selected tiles and to put them on the map to single out and kill just one of your units because IT KNOWS you're trying to complete a quest...and that if any of your units die, you don't get a tally mark. The 10th Stratum knows.

Actually, you're completely wrong! That is my PERSONAL favorite-best-possible-outcome-Titania! As long as you give her the HP +2 Sacred Scroll (essential), having the +Spd Boon is amazing, absolutely amazing.

Distant Counter is great on her with both QR or Vantage.
Never teach her Warding Blow; Darting Blow 3 and HP +5 are better A-Skills. Darting Blow 3 lets her start doubling like crazy and she will always double if being Honed.
Quick Riposte will act as Defense Darting Blow. Only use Vantage if you have Distant Counter.

Ninian is basically on every team that isn't a meme, so she got to 2k fast. Olivia usually pairs up right next to her, sometimes two Olivias, when training the Bronzes and Silvers. So she's not far behind. The others are part of my Arena teams or been grinding up their levels/SP.

Sorry, I've mislead you. I mean I was initially unlucky with rolls, though when the princes banner came out I managed to roll a Reinhardt rolling for Ephraim. After that I just decided I'd stick with cavalry. I'm fortunate enough to have him as my centerpiece, I was using him, Jagen, Gunter and a Stahl for a long time, but I've now got Xander. I did end up putting some money in, because I wanted my favourite lord, Celice. I'm happy with my cavalry team, but if I can slot in better units, I will.

I had a feeling the HP Seal would be useful... I didn't get Titania in a Reroll until after the Seals event ended, I'll eventually patch it up I suppose, either with Merges (with luck) or more Seals.

Well, the #1 thing I spend stamina on is quests that give out orbs as rewards.

After that, Training Tower. The game lets you save 5 teams.
Team 1 = Arena Defense Team
Team 2 = Gold training team.
Team 3 = Silver training team.
Team 4 = Bronze training team.
Team 5 is my Arena Offense team.

Then I prioritize who gets leveled and why.

1) Train any new Gold to level 40 ASAP in Team 2.
2) Train any new Bronze to level 20 ASAP in Teams 3&4. If Team 2 can't tackle any at its level (bad matchups, not enough stamina), select either Team 3 or 4.
3) If no more Golds, Team 2 becomes another Bronze.
4) If no more Bronzes below level 20, train "future-useable" Silver up to level 40.
5) If no more Golds or Silvers to train up to level 40 (ALL silvers, even multiple, they will be merged or promoted-merged at some point), grind SP.

Sounds like a lot of thinking, but it's not. Takes like 2 seconds to pick the next low-level shitter. It's just logic. I might prioritize a quick bit of SP grinding on a unit if I've finally gotten some piece of fodder that had the skill(s) I was looking to pass off so that the inheritor has enough to learn it.

It really doesn't take much patience. They hit level 20 in about 5 battles or about 15 Stamina. Just have the shitter, a buffer, a dancer (or two) and a healer and they clear each map in 2 rounds. Takes, like, 4 minutes, tops. All the bronzes are ready to be promoted to Silver if any have a skill that might ever become useful in the future or has a start on their own personal SP grind for if you teach them a billion skills, promote, grind more and then merge. I've got a Cecilia just like that and she has basically every skill because of it.

Just beat Echoes on Hard, my second run. i absolutely loved the game but deep down it's still Gaiden, and I fucking hate Gaiden. I understand why IS was so keen on being faithful to the original, but honestly, if they touched the maps, added different objectives and stuff, it would easily be one of the best FE games.

That doesn't mean I hate it or anything though, despite liking pretty much all FE games except Gaiden, I was happy that it got remade and it's nice to have the "classic FE" feeling again. Here's to more good remakes in the future, and more FE.
