spoilerific speculation on elite specs.


Warrior = Spellbreaker: Dagger based, but defensive duelist type.

Guardian = Firebrand: Condition damage spec for Guardians. More burning, Wells, and likely bleeding.

Revenant = Renegade: Some say condition, I say more nuanced and unique. Comes with some form of bow, could be shortbow, could be long. Gains and F2, F3, and F4 skill. F3 is aoe. I would imagine this to be a means of "summoning" Legends to act as complementary buffs perhaps. Legend is Kalla Scorchrazor. In life she gathered armies from all three legions, and led a rebellion, I could easily see this spec revolve around spirits and summoning things.

Thief = Deadeye, long-range dps spec. Gains a rifle, PvE might change to allow for people to spread out and not have their damage turn to shit. Or not. Could be good for pvp. Also seems to indicate some support for condition damage.

Ranger = Spiritbeast. Dagger Main-hand. Can only imagine what this actually does. Likely a mix of raw dps options, but could also be a pseudo "petless" ranger. Channeling similar magics to the Norn Spirit forms, Rangers can fuse with their pets becoming ferocious beasts.

Engineer = Holosmith. Sword mainhand. Yeah, kinda blindsided me on this one. Looks to be a support/healing oriented spec.

Elementalist = ???. Sword mainhand maybe? Not sure. Could use generally anything for some role diversity except healing. Tempest does that well enough.

Mesmer = Mirage. Mesmer needs some love in regards to its damage. This however looks like another defensive spec. Could be wrong anyways.

Necromancer = Scourge. Really hoping for support. If it's more conditions then fucking fix Reaper. If it's condi/support then seraph stats here we go.

It's more of an anti-magic thing, so I'm guessing it will have more to do with absorbing and being immune to certain magic attacks. Would be neat to see a variation of adrenaline but where you are absorbing your enemies attacks.

Anyways the enchantment by Monk Griffons in the first game was annoying as fuck. Rendered most of your party's skills useless if they were literally by definition to be a spell instead of a skill.

fractals is still a great way to make money and you should be comfortable with them before really diving into raids imo
and easiest to raid with will always be the class you know most about, they're all pretty much relatively even in use, there's no class that I feel is next level difficult in raids or what have you but revs are probably universally disliked in raids due to being mediocre

gearing for raids isn't that intense at all, ascended gear isn't mandatory. the most crucial part is just finding a group willing to teach and be patient, whether that's a guild or just complete randos.

Easiest to play in raids? Mesmer/chronomancer is a good choice. It's hard to be really good at but you're not expected to do high dps or complicated rotations just to be accepted, and you're pretty durable.
As far as DPS goes, warrior is also very easy to be acceptable at and you're very tanky with no defensive gear or traits.

Overall though, Ranger/druid. You can be a mediocre druid healer and people will
still want you. You can basically auto attack as a condition ranger and get 20k+ dps.
It's not the easiest profession to do a great job at, but theyre in such a good place right now that you can cheese your way into a group that will carry you.
