They're not that great. +atk is good on hector but -hp will turn some of his usually winnable matchups into losses. The boon/bane on Ryoma provides him no benefits, negative ones in fact since -def will make matchups against other red swords unfavorable towards him. Which defeats the purpose of running Ryoma since he's currently the best red sword.

You could patch them up with SI if you want but that requires a bit more investment into the characters. Otherwise, SI their skills to other units like Hector's DC or Ryoma's Hone Spd towards a buffer unit.

Moonbow scales with enemy defense. If you aren't killing them without a special, chances are they have decent defense.

Its generally better to guarantee the +10 from moonbow againdt a 30 defense enemy than leave it to how much damage you've taken.

Not to mention you'll need to take more than half your health for reprisal to match moonbow, which isn't just one or two fury activations. Also, getting hit just to increase reprisal damage sucks this meta because Wings of Mercy is extremely common. Thats why Desperation isn't as common anymore.

What's /feg's opinion on evolving units for their 4* skills in order to have a unit inherit?

Say for instance. I have 3 3* Gordin, 3 3* Palla, 3 3* Odin. Should I evolve these units to pass on their 4* skills? Or would that a waste of feathers and I should wait for 4* pulls of these characters?

Also say for instance. I want brave lance on my Effie. Should I evolve a 4* Cordelia just for that purpose or just have her inherit regular brave lance

I feel like a lot of the hate for Echoes comes from purists since it strays from what a Fire Emblem game "should" be like. It kinda feels like a traditional JRPG with dungeon crawling and a higher emphasis on stats, much like the original Gaiden.

2000 feathers is not a lot, but each week you get about 2000~2500 unless you are a whale from arena. If you save them you will easily save 10,000 feathers in month. 105 from the 15 per day in a week + 100 every monday

I just pulled two Takumi's on the hunt for Azura. One is +Spd/ -Res and the other is -Spd/+Res, which should I level and is he good enough to warrant swapping out my Eirika for him?
My current party is 5* Nowi, 5* Hana, 4* Nino and 4* Eirika and it works pretty well considering none of my characters are past 32 atm.

You're describing a situation to get into a position where reprisal may or may not outdamage moonbow. One fhat might not even have the oppurtunity to occur depending on the opponent team comp or how the ai positions units.

Moonbow is just the safer and more consistent choice. I'm not saying you can't make reprisal work. It's just that moonbow isn't just will never not be a solid choice simply because it damage scales depending on the enemy your fighting.

People don't realize that Gaiden was made when there wasn't such a thing as "what Fire Emblem should be." There was only one other game at the time. Like every other early Nintendo series, the devs experimented with the second game to see if it worked better but like all the other ones, people preferred the first game to the second so they went back to the original formula with the third.

Echoes is just staying true to what the game was. They could have made it like every other FE out there, but then it'd lose what made it Gaiden in the first place. It'd be like if they remade Zelda II but they just make it play like A Link to the Past instead. Sure it might be better to some people, but it wouldn't be Zelda II anymore and it'd also piss off the select number people who have grown to enjoy Zelda II since it's initial inception.

Fucking dancer's in the arena. They never behave in any pattern you can remotely predict. Sometimes they'll do nothing and not dance someone for a round, even when, factoring in dance, I left a person in range. it's not repraisal it's vengance. Vengance does 50% of HP more, repraisal does 30% of HP More.

But yeah as long as you agree both are viable it's fine. I would argue that fury 2 + moonbow/luna > fury 3 + repraisal/vengeance.

Having used fury 3 that damage accumulates very fast.

There's a difference between 6 (six) speed between the two. That's more than enough to have a LOT of additional units double on the -Speed one. That was actually kind of my plan as well. My current arena team is usually just roy, rein, dancer and bonus unit. I had intended to give TA to xander and have him be a roy on wheels, since xander kills pretty much every red and blue in the game I meet, and I dont even have hone cavalry for him yet (since nowi is the only notable thing I can recall living from him right now)

It would also save me having to 5* a nino to feed until later if i ever decide to go that route.

Although I only have a single 4* roy to feed, so one might have to just get a TA2.
