Warrior in PvP is basically what people play when they imagine a DPS with an inflated health pool. What actually happens is you get someone trying to be a DPS and they're lacking all the actual benefits actual DPS jobs have. Warrior has the special downside of actually being shut down by all three healers, several DPS and PLD and doesn't even have Raw Destruction since it's a tank

You could 100% do all the battle + gathering before Stormblood. The problem is with crafters since you ideally will do 15-50 from leves and that's like 60+ leves ea class so you wont have enough. You'll have like 350 to work with assuming you're at 100 rn and you also ideally use leves for min/bot leveling to 50..

Dude same, I've tanked since Wrath of the Lich King @ WoW and i recently switched to FFXIV to play with my friends, but i just can't to take the step outside of tanking myself.
My only level 60 classes are PLD & WAR, which is why i decided to level up a DPS.

It feels a little slow, but i'm sure i could get used to it. I've had to try out my combos in floor 51 potd alone a few times, just to get a preview of that lategame, but it's kind of hard when i have yet to unlock the actual job. Heh.

Tanking is THE best thing about this game for me. It feels so good, so right! No queue times, you pop in and do your roulettes. Learning dungeons and then doing better pulling is easy but rewarding; raids work in such a way that you're actually rewarded for managing your cooldowns and focusing on dps.

Yoshi could remove all the jobs from the game (for me to play with), except for Drk and I would still love playing, because of how much I enjoy that job; if you don't like Drk there's War which is everyone's favorite and Pld has nice aesthetics, I guess.

Um, I don't know for sure, but I'm 100% certain that I like Drk animations more. Some of the skills feel extremely satisfying to use/apply, they look great and transition very well from one to another. Also it's easy to see what a Drk is using if you know the skills, which means that the effects are mostly all well designed and distinct, whilst managing to hold a common color palette and "theme".

Only talk in game, never on third party chats. Agree on both sides to terms and who will give up their goods first. Both agree with one another in chat to report the other to a GM if they are cheated. Both agree to be banned and to have the chat logs used against them in court of Yoshi if they exploit the trade agreement. Seller acknowledges that he is not flipping the property and has had the property for an extended time. Buyer acknowledges that he believes the property is worth the price. Highest level dungeon for healing and tanks, POTD to top off levels.

For DPS I just POTD until I get to a level where armor looks good for glam, so 50. Then I run dungeons.

Is gil useful for anything other than glams and houses in this game? I was considering leveling a DoH or two to earn some gil, but I find crafting to be tedious and boring. Am I missing out on much if I just pass on that whole aspect of the game?

I guess you could buy super expensive crafted gear when a patch hits, or expensive food/potions.
But other than that you won't miss out at anything.

Story Quest > Dungeon > Story Quest > Dungeon > Story Quest > Primal (Single boss fight) > Story Quest > Dungeon.

You do this about 800 times until you get to max level then you gotta grind out old dungeons again to earn enough secondary currency to buy near-endgame gear. THEN you can do raids and shit for actual endgame gear.

This will be about a month or two in depending on how much time you put into the game.

You can share Tank stuff between other tanks all the way to max level (Unless its a class specific piece that's like "Paladin" only)
Same with Magic DPS, ranged DPS, and healers.

You can share melee DPS stuff with other physical DPS and ranged classes until you hit level 50. At which point this branches off into class specific crap like NIN/MNK/DRG only

Thanks for the replies. I'm always amazed when I see people with all DoHs at max level. PotD is what gets me through grinding to 60 for other classes, but I just can't imagine having to craft my way to 60. Guess there's a reason MB prices are so high then, eh?

The end of 2.5.5 is pretty good. Some of the stuff before 2.5.0 is good, especially the stuff dealing directly with Garlemald and Gaius van Baelsar. Unfortunately, most of the Gaius cutscenes can only be seen once.
