They've mentioned before that they wanted to make their main games themselves inhouse before, but it seems like they are getting some help with the mobile games from their chinese branch. They've been ready and happy to do crossovers and partnerships with anyone who wants to and they have, most notably with DOA (Mai/Costumes) and Gran Blue Fantasy (SS characters). In regards to Metal Slug specifically nothing is set in stone, but a clue might be their partnership with Studio Roquovan. Now that I think about it not much else has been announced about that partnership. I wonder what it's all about.

I hope they make a PC version, not because of the masterrace or what ever, but because the chinks are seemingly the ones who put the most eyeballs/interest on the game yet very few of them have PS4s and for other fans where a PS4 costs a kidney. Compare the 7k from NCR to the 56k from a chink tournament from a little over a week ago and both events were of similar player turnout. It was something similar for the WCS. How do you play Garou properly on PC ? The XBLA version is neat but I don't possess a 360.
Last time I played it on my computer (which is great one) with FBA (included in fightcade pack) there was plenty of framedrops and it wasn't great at all.
Is there a better neogeo/mame emulator than the other ones ? Did I configure it wrong ? Because the game was arcade perfect and fluid on Xbox 360, it should be great on PC too.

here is a gamepro protip that people should realize

fightcade is not a requirement to have "touched a game" in the kof franchise, same goes for whatever other fighting games be it vampsav, motw (or "garou" as people seem to call it) or whatnot

several of these games are available in ps2 format which didn't have netplay (that i know of), or wii virtual console or that orochi saga, not to mention there's also a samsho collection that has 1-6 on wii and ps2, and games like motw are available via psn (i think) and dreamcast, and several older kofs had saturn ports (which i own)

an example i'll use: i have played 2k2 on fightcade a few times (among some other titles) but i have never played 98 on it, does that mean i have never touched 98? no, because i have it in several other forms, including the dreamcast port

btw i don't mind playing vs people in 2k2 since i don't play it much and need to get reacquainted with it, if you don't (or can't) play xiv online for whatever reason that isn't relevant to me

Solely based on those snippets, I may be able to see where he's coming from. If his preferred games only have qcf x2 attack or variants of those as super moves, then trying to do qcf,hcb+attack or the reverse of it can be unnatural at first. Back in 95 I thought you had to hit all the arrows one by one as opposed to a smooth two-swing motion to do Iori's Maiden Masher but of course, that changed in time.

Also, his remark about throws reminded me of something. I'm sure SNK has done two-button-input throws. From what I can easily remember, in SVC Chaos where whiffing one makes you lose meter, Last Blade 2 (f or b+C+D. Also maybe Battle Coliseum had the same motion too, as A+B was for emergency movement IIRC), I'm sure SSVS had it for the position switch too. And lastly, KOF XII had A+C and B+D as whiffable throws,

The loss of projectile?

KoF96 deemphasized their use across the board to prevent the frequent sight in 94 and 95 of people use tossing projectiles and having them dodged in place - rolls as a moving dodge were the other side of that measure.

It kinda made sense to have those changes affect the protagonist too, and they even worked that into the story, through a backstory defeat at Goenitz's hands.

Still, at least every once in a while they bring that style back, between alternate Kyo in 97, Kyo clone in 99, Kusanagi in 2002 and 2003, and default Kyo in XII and XIII.

Personally, I rather liked XI Kyo, best of both worlds.

I mean SNK has been more than happy to do crossovers and collaborations with different companies they just might let Harada do it under the right conditions. Shun does have too many accessories, but they wanted to appeal to young people (and the female audience) and I think it works. I'm fine with the green hair and the jacket is cool. SNK always creates the best jackets btw, the only exception is XIV Kyo jacket, I can't get used to it because it looks too ugly to me and I hope they get rid of it in the next game.

Anyway, I personally would change some small things like taking off the headphones and fixing his pants, but overall I think his design fits well in KOF. Also, his "full chuuni mode" color palette is the best, you know which one I'm talking about.
