It's a fun game that has a lot of content in it. That being said, it depends on how much time you put into it. The sequel is going to come out in September and after that nobody will play anymore, so you will probably have trouble doing raids and stuff then.

The only content you need other people for is Raids really, I'm sure that even after the end for a little while at least you'll find other people to matchmake strikes with.

People won't bother with Destiny 1 when 2 drops. Pretty much everyone who plays it at this point is addicted to it and will get the new fix.

There is a lot of single player content in the complete edition now which would tide you over BUT (and I think most will agree) what'll keep you interested in the game is the weekly events (Nightfalls, Raids, etc) which are team based and will most likely plummet in popularity in Destiny 1.

You could blast through it all in that time really, yeah. It's at the point where people know what they're doing so you can easily be taken through the end game content. Levelling up characters doesn't take too long to get to that stage (you need to be at/near the highest light level) but collecting gear/weapons and unlocking subclass abilities will take longer (especially if you're interested in using all three classes).

You won't need to buy currency at this point - to tell you the truth I'm not 100% sure what spending money can get you at the moment bar emotes (it's possible you can use it to buy Silver Dust which can be used to modify the appearance of weapons but I may be wrong). Essentially, you're paying $35 for vanilla and three expansions and additional content boosts worth of campaign stories.

There are four raids which reset weekly (completing those gives you loot and armour drop chances) and Nightfall strikes (which reset weekly with drop chances).

Alligning yourself with a faction and levelling them up gives you drops, as does completing PVP and PVE quests every week.

If you get the game just ask around on here for help with the story to help get you levelled up quickly and then people can take you into the end game content. What system are you on?

The Hive are without leadership until Oryx's sisters turn up. As far as we know, we've killed all the Ascendant Hive in our solar system. So they are basically just running around being bad guys for now. In addition, Oryx's wyrm escaped his body and flew off to God knows where.

And then we have the Great Worms, which are the biggest bads we know of, so there's your long lasting villain. I expect that we will kill them in a raid in D3 or something.

The Fallen are also without leadership but it seems likely that the House of Kings is going to try something. That'll almost certainly be a plot point of D2. Also, there's indications that Variks is going to kill Petra in a bloody coup and try to make himself Kell of Kells, but it's just foreshadowing right now.

The Vex are still a mystery in a lot of ways. We've stopped them from overtaking Venus and causing a timeline convergence via Atheon, but they're still up to no good on Mercury and Mars. We just don't know what they'll do next.

The Darkness is just a name for the race of immortal cosmic Azathoths with the power to warp reality simply by existing, so don't worry about it.

The Cabal Emperor, in the end, is just a big dude with a big army. I can't see him being a main antagonist of the entire series. As long as the Great Worms are out there, they'll be a threat. Eventually they will lure another species to the core of Fundament and start their conquest of all life in the universe all over again, so we should probably kill them. They are by far the biggest threat we face, because they directly represent the Darkness.

Part of me expects D3 to involve bringing the Traveler to somewhere else far away in our galaxy and causing another Syzygy to destroy Fundament and end the threat of a galactic space parasite once and for all, because that's basically what the crux of the Halo trilogy was. But really, we don't know what will happen with the Great Worms in the end.

I am officially retiring from the game today. Got the game this Christmas. Anything sci-fi I love and enjoyed the game.

Its just the raids turn into a 50/50 chance if its a good experience or some peer pressure event where some guy playing a kids game death shames you.

Overall the experiance is fun but the game but they needs an option to join a game with only inexperianced raider. Yeah, I know they have LFG but its all (100%), lvl 400 titan, #be experianced, #knowwhattodo. If you are lucky enough to join a chill raid team they just rush through it.
