Regular Cannon is way better, really. Going for the Church Cannon really limits available weaponry with the Blt requirement. Any Str build is almost guaranteed to have the Cannon, though.
It's also a blast to use, sometimes literally.

What's that one skill/arcane build an anon here invented that supposedly outamages quality builds by way of using nourishing gems on siderite weapons?

Sounds like a meme. The siderite weapons have poor base Arc so it would be better to prioritze the Physical aspect over Arc. Burial Blade would get more out of 25 Str than 30 Arc, and I don't think the Arc is affected by modifiers. As for BoM, it won't get anything from Str but very little from Arc even with Nourishing gems. And split damage isn't great in these games compared to Pure unless the secondary damage is high/gets buffs. Might as well go 50/50 if you're doing 50/30 Skl/Arc.

25/50/6 Str/Skl/Arc BB with full 27.2% is 649 AR, 10/50/30 BB with full Nourishings (2 Rom Radials + Amy Triangle w/ +15 secondaries) is 648 AR while a good chunk of the damage is not affected by modifiers.

Being able to use Tools is a perk but I'd honestly go 50 Arc if I wanted to use em effectively. You can fit 40/50/50 Vit/Skl/Arc without going over BL120 easily.

I tried 50 skl/arc on a mule I have with top tier nourishing gems. It's not a meme at that level. Blade of mercy dash attacks do about 450 damage which is higher than 50 skl with tempering. It gets about 590 AR and burial blade gets 670. Plus you have tools. You haven't lived until you caught someone with ex gloves into your transform attack then R2'd for the finish.

I don't think the blood imbibing makes you a real vileblood, it's probably more of an honorary thing in addition to Annalise getting desperate. Vilebloods seem too hoity toity to just let anyone be one officially, otherwise she wouldn't constantly force you to bow to her like an outsider, she'd treat you like an equal.
It's similar to our real world royalty system. Royalty was originally a distinction between the poor and the rich, but nowadays it's more about heritage than anything else. There are plenty of rich people in the world now that aren't considered royalty at all, like Bill Gates.

I was thinking about the lore the other day and something really got my almonds firing though. So Laurence ran off from Burgertown and founded the church, and from the church split the choir and mensis. But when we see Yarhargul and Mensis, they're fucking HUGE. Yarhargul itself looks almost Yharnam sized. It makes me wonder if the hidden village existed prior to Laurence and co creating mensis. Also who even lives in yarhargul? In Yharnam we see the citizens as they devolve into beasts, in hemwick we see the crazy witch bitches come at us with torches n shit, but Yarhargul doesn't seem to have any citizens aside from the bell ladies left.
