I had no problem giving Paradox money for the game or when they made real expansions eg. Heir to the throne and Art of war. But i'm not going to support a company nickle and diming consumers.

The expansions in pre CK2 games were extremely expansive refining and re balancing major structures in the game. Now they charge 2 bucks to add the ability to tell your allies in a war to not be retarded and actually give you you're own war goals.

I was watching the dude who makes the Meou and taxes mod and while I've never played it the amount of work and dedication I saw in the 20 minutes of that stream is more than in all the dev diaries and work I've seen paradox do in half a decade.

Instead of adding more and more bloat into their games, why in the fuck is India in CK2?, they need to go back to the drawing board and seriously work out how best to actually make fun yet historical simulations that capture the spirit of guiding a nation through the ages. Instead I'm sure they'll put out more meme expansions like Monk's and Mystics to let us summon Satan and make more halfhearted poorly planned games like stellaris while squeezing their customers for as much cash as possible.

So guys. I am a pleb at HOI 3 I would love to be good at the game but the tutorials don't really help me. I got all the dlc's. Have tried to play as Chile so I would be safe from axis allies and communists when the war breaks out but eventually my resources went red again I think for oil and I had a tough time trying to understand how it works.

Among other things you could have in fighting later with the Basques or Catalonians. It's all very buggy and unfinished and I usually play a game with it to see what breaks next.

The game applied a "Great Depression" modifier on me when I started. It sets my army unit build times to 3000, but doesn't modify the build time for my airforce or navy.
The first levels of Strategic bombers (STRAT-14 through STRAT-21) have a build time of only 74 days as opposed to the rest, which have a build time of 300 days. Clearly the best course of action is to pump out hundreds of strategic bombers and then upgrade them into B-25s.

The capital and the areas around it are governed by you. Other areas are divided into regions that are governed by appointed governors. You can replace these governors at will if they are taking to much cut of the taxes or refusing to provide troops but it costs legitamacy. There's also a court faction that will demand certain areas revoked or vassals aressted, if you don't give into their demands then they could plot a coup, create a pretedner, or otherwise undermine your legitimacy. Areas farther from your capital gain autonomy faster and are more likely to stop sending taxes or providing troops. You can create a secondary capital with a strong enough ruler but it will have a large start up cost and take a chunk out of your mana.

Hopefully then you'd have a more realistic scenario where under a strong emperor China is an absolute behemoth that can effectively level it's huge population, wealth, and learning to dominate. But under weaker emperors the periphery will begin splitting off, tributaries will stop paying up, and hordes will feel comfortable encroaching further into your heartlands. Eventually leading to a complete collapse while everyone tries and restore the throne.
