DT2-2 is supposed to have a similar amount of skits as DT2, but maybe they are harder to trigger this time round.

If your goal is just to get to the end, it's not hard.

The combat system is complex and interesting but not very deep (just a lot of simple elements layered on top of each other).

Elements, which are central to damage calculation, are color coded. Status effects/super moves are visual, so the battle log isn't important. Equipment can be managed by selecting the ones that give you most (+) signs. Advancing the story is as simple as following a symbol on a map. Everything can be reset eventually, meaning no builds are permanently fuckup-able. Most classes can't be used "wrong".

The biggest thing you'll likely miss is Coven skills and effects, since there are a lot of them and make a significant difference. All that means is that you'll probably play on normal instead of hard.
