Sy here. I started that story in September and then dropped it. It stayed unfinished on my Pastebin since. However, at some point in February my Pastebin for whatever reason decided to set all my pastes to Public and I had to fix that. It also wouldn't have been the only unfinished story that people might have seen there during that time. I don't remember when in February this was, and I don't know how long my pastes were like that for.

I finally went back and started working on the story near the end of March, and when I posted it at the beginning of this month is when it was actually done. This is also why if you look at my list of OCfaggotry the story is listed at the bottom of the writefaggotry section. It's genuinely a newer story than the greentext. Were I to finish the other unfinished story I currently have on my Pastebin, it would be a similar deal where the created date is old. Hell, the other unfinished story's created date is even older actually. Although I guess in the future I could avoid something like this happening by just deleting and remaking the story.

The book can be kind of referential, because elements of it ended up in other games. Twisted Ones' basic synopsis of "killer robots being sent out from somewhere" might be part of FNAF 6, for instance.

Actually, people's expectations for 2 weren't that high. It was mostly just that it'd be a sequel that built upon the first game. The prequel nature was a twist decided upon during development, as opposed to being planned from the start. This also contributes to it's more patchwork feeling.

Fireden's down at the moment, but Weaver deconstructed why 2 wasn't as good as the first game in a series of posts examining the game. It's inherently flawed, as the breakneck speed of the gameplay relies a lot on trial and error RNG. It's not like the first game, where being inches away from death was only if you fucked up and let the robots get too close. It abandoned tension and atmosphere for a more in-your-face approach, which also reflects in the character designs, which abandoned the uncanny, subdued nature of the original game for the scary monsters vibe. The Alien siren was pretty neat on paper, but was overused to the point of becoming background noises.

The Puppet was received poorly beyond just the mechanic because he wasn't a part of the original game's story, but was retrofitted to be a part of it anyways, for the sake of an explanation. Making things messy. People also thought he took away from the mystery of the original by being a pretty pointless explanation that contradicted himself. If he's there to explain why kids possess animatronics, then why is he a kid possessing an animatronic? The series was better off without him, keeping the dead kids to a nice and tidy number.

The "Bite of 87" bit is referential to that being the main focus of the game. Going off of the FNAF 1 cutscenes and the presence of "mike" in the files, Scott had a different plan for the game before he changed it into a prequel, that used the "Bite of 87" as it's plot twist. This kind of writing, with non-commitment to the story and pulling mulligans, is what screwed things up. Writing two games about a Bite for the "gotchya!" plot twist moments echoes of M Night Shyamalan.

There should be some expectancy of quality, right? Alien, Hellraiser, Halloween, and dozens of other movies in the same genre as FNAF all showed that you can make a good sequel to a horror story. Also when you go into the past of a story there are bound to be more characters and some that effect the story. Also because if you look at the shape of Ennard's ears and how long their nose pokes out, it looks a little mousey, to me at least. I like the idea of Ennard being the base and adding onto itself, and the base being a skittering mouse sniffing for robot souls to assimilate is a fun creepy-cute mental image that matches the overall design of the SL bots pretty well for me.

Hurts my eyes a lot to play. 100%'d with all achievements for both chapters. Bendy's design overall is a bit on the weak side, looks too contemporary to feel like an actual product of the 30s like Felix or Mickey, great sound design and genuinely good use of the rare jumpscare. Cult side-story comes dangerously close to harming the overall product, feels unnecessary and like a desperate 'lore' grab. The puzzles and gameplay are extremely weak so far, all it has going for it is atmosphere. Luckily that atmosphere is strong as Hell, but I don't know if it'll be enough to keep my attention for five full chapters. Gore. Normally I'm more in favor with more subtle means of making something "scary", but now I think they need a visible and visceral reason to be a threat. We know intellectually that they are threats because we know that they kill the guard. And we knew this in a more visceral as well as we have seen bits of gore to support this like losing in the first game, and the height of this was of course Springtrap.

But since then that element has been lacking. We know that the kid from 4 got bit, and we know that Eggs gets scooped, but this knowledge does not scare us as effectively without seeing these things for ourselves, nothing more than some pixelated robot vomit. Sure, Nightmare has some big scary teeth that we can imagine doing a lot of damage if they ever bit down on us, but we don't actually see that. Sure we can imagine the scooping process and come up with some pretty gruesome imagery based on what Scott tells us, and I normally prefer things being left up to our imagination rather than being bombarded with gore, but for a while now "up to your imagination" is all we've had.

Really it is the animatronics that we have seen most "gore" from, and while this may help the "sympathize with the sad ghost kids who have never done anything wrong" narrative the series seems to have taken, it doesn't add to the fear of bodily harm that the player should feel.

Alternatively, go with one of the many "when you die you become an animatronic or some other piece of Fazbear property" ideas that have been thrown around here. Then the robot brutality might mean something more, because then, as with gorey game over screens, the player can connect that to what will happen if they lose.

I don't know, just a thought. The animatronics feel like an "all bark no bite" sort of thing when we never see those teeth or suits in action. The puppet and some animatronics like Toy Bonnie are in more need of that because they don't even appear threatening.

Yeah, some brutality might go a long way towards giving them some weight as a threat again.
Springtrap's (former? current?) status as a horror movie monster should not be forgotten. He was an insane killer, out for your blood. But this was only ever inferred from his moaning, and the disappearance of your co-worker. Having hints of the aftermath of Phone Dude's death on Night 3 might've helped strengthen the atmosphere, as you start the night, start flipping the cameras, and whoa, what's up with this blood trail? Where's Foxy's hook? It might have gone a way towards making him memorable. It's a horror franchise, there isn't any need to pull punches, especially when doing so results in Purple failing to kill any children in an adaptation.

The transformation idea might work well, as it gives more of a prominent threat to the player. Outlining that there might be worse things than death awaiting the character has a particular menace and edge to it that a quick murder lacks.

tl;dr- gore might be good horror, as would be getting a little creative.

More like shoe leather than swiss cheese, but i digress. It really depends on who's inside of the suit, though. If it's Michael, then yes. If it's William or anybody else with an internal organ system, then it'd probably have a sickly sweet liquid core like Japanese bubblegum or jelly doughnuts. I would think that the blood inside him has congealed into a brownish paste.
