they are all fine except phase shift. Lately because of the challenge I've had entire maps covered in pulse blade. That level of radar can piss me off. But you can still fight those morons at least.

The main reason I hate phase is that it slows the game down insufferably and encourages people to play badly. Bad players can use it to avoid dying for a while, but who cares - they aren't winning that way, and if they had any fucking sense in them they would use it for attacking. 6 seconds of being entirely harmless to the entire enemy team, lol. If they all do it at once they have guaranteed their loss in any mode besides pvp or live fire.

It's not like phase shitters are even getting the drop on me. I just grapple 30 feet into the air and shoot them from above, and they half the gall to call grapple 'cheap.' If there's a ceiling, lol, satchels everywhere.

i'd like for there to be higher TTK, but that'd either make single shot/charge to kill weapons (kraber, cold war barrage, epg direct hit, charge rifle) useless if they needed 2/3 shots or incredibly strong if they only needed 1 and everything else in the game took 2/3 times as long. if you were decent you'd be able to line up a kraber shot before anyone could kill you with a rifle every time.

what about stuff like the DMR? are headshots still an instant kill? do you need 6 full bodyshots to kill? how is that fair? almost any weapon in the game could blow you apart in the time it take you to land that

If that's the only other option, then of course mouse is the clear choice. But wow is that a shitty choice. I turn off aim assist on my game just to be an elitist

For one thing, I've always hated having to be sitting down, hunched over, pecking at a flat keyboard. I actually play standing up, with the controller if you can believe it. Kind of the same philosophy as why you'd use a standing desk, I feel like long periods of having my ass planted in a chair wear down my concentration and breathing, etc. standing up playing titanfall gives you a sense of gravity that adds to the crisp feel of the game's movement.

Speaking of the "gravity" effect, the free-spinning trackball mode on the pad + the gyro impart a feeling of freedom that's hard to describe without trying it (especially if you've only ever diddled twin dildos to aim on a console, or been using the all-mighty and ancient and frankly dated keyboard + mouse combination to PC game for the last >3 decades). Basically your aim is "falling" in every direction, so to speak, constantly, which prompts you to grab the reins and seize control of it. I personally think it makes for a more immersive overall experience since it feels more true-to-life: it's literally using hardware to take the maximum full advantage of the straight up amazing movement system in software that Respawn's created.

Don't get me wrong btw, I'm not trying to call The Mouse an old-timer who doesn't understand this new generation; I have respect for my elder, I mean there's a reason it's remained the sole piece of hardware used for all PC gaming and held over conslows' heads by the LE PC MASTER RACE XDDDD crowd. But I also think there aren't many games like Titanfall that have so incredibly fucking NAILED the mechanics of movement, not to mention all general gameplay otherwise, and the steam controller I swear makes it a different ball game altogether.

I do think it has the potential to surpass mouse accuracy especially with the sheer volume of software updates Valve keeps making, but that's even beside the point. I tried playing with kb+m for a while because I sucked bad at first with the controller, and while I was a bit better, it was nowhere near as fun. Seriously at the end of the day, even if I was worse with the controller I'd pick it over smashing a keyboard to run & jump because it feels so much more RIGHT on the controller. Also those back paddles hnnnngg

there's no way the speed and accuracy of just the thumb is going to beat all the fingers, elbow, shoulder, and really the whole upper body. I don't have any problem with the steam controller, but it was simply a better compromise than an analog stick. It's fine if you don't want to sit in a chair or whatever, but the limit of a decent gaming mouse's accuracy is not the mouse. It's the human anatomy.

I know it does feel good to move with an analog stick, but movement in Titanfall specifically is actually better with keyboard+mouse because of the precision required for air strafing. You've probably seen Benchy's frag videos, but pay attention to how he sweeps around tight rooms - he can air strafe almost 180 degrees turns. good luck with either a trackpad or a virtual trackball. An actual trackball might work, though.

Dude that's what I'm saying, not sure if you've heard of the gyroscope capability. In my opinion, that's both the single biggest selling point as far as its potential for FPS's, and its greatest ironic failure in marketing since apparently no one knows about it.

Go to 2 minutes. The gyro is what singlehandedly makes the controller go from passable to More Than Viable.

Only problem is, no reviewer when the thing came out spent more than 5 minutes actually learning how to configure it in steam's (admittedly horrible at launch) software, and so completely missed the fact that the gyro turns the controller from the traditional, static, twin-stick chunk of plastic of yore, into a dynamic hardware device that translates the ACTUAL spatial motion of your arms into smooth, precise aiming in-game. It's at least twice better than a mouse in the "the only limit is the human anatomy" department.

the closest thing we can assume is that they must have thought the R-97 was underpowered because barely anybody used it without factoring in that it was probably just the Volt outshining it
they also probably severely overestimated the spread of it and figured high damage would suit high spread. when the reality of the situation is that for every 2 bullets that goes off center, 1 goes straight forward. and at 1080 RPM that's a nonissue
to make matters worse, the CAR is pretty much just a slightly worse pre-nerf Volt but Respawn will never adress this because they keep making grossly overpowered SMGs. Expect the Alternator to get buffed when the R-97 is nerfed
