Everyone gets that. Or, I think so. I get it, at least.
It's such a eerily feel-y tune for transitions. It's well beyond your typical game 'good night' music.
Good morning.

The case motherboard connectors are an absolute bitch to all get in. I really wish the manufacturers would change how its laid out.
>>175359880
Unfortunately, at the level of cases I buy, there's no way manufacturers would actually do something that would cost them extra money.
My case is a beaut for $40 but the fact I have to justify that it's nice for its cost should tell you all you need to know.
Rin would be a downright vicious opponent in DDR, I have a feeling.
>>175360005
I'm more thinking at a motherboard level than a case level.
I used to have a 40-50 quid case, as a general rule thats fine (unless it comes with an incendiary device built in claiming to be a PSU) but my current case was a hundred quid and by god is it worth it, looks sexy, built in fans are quiet and it has dust filters.
>>175360459
>picture
Let me help you
>>175360459
I imagine dust filters actually make a case worth more than just the bare bones. Quiet fans are always nice, though this case did well with that.
>>175360886
They're pretty great, haven't needed to do an internal dust clean yet, only issue is that if you leave it long enough you need to take a tissue or cloth and wipe the dust off the top of the filters but thats a lot easier than opening the internals up and cleaning the dust out of everything.
I feel like 2x400m relay should be Emi's actual theme, not standing tall. It actually suits her much more, and is generally the better song of the two.

>>175362617
Plain black.
It's not ugly, but I admit that I'm not out for aesthetics.

Plain Black can be good looking if the rest of the case design supports it. The only thing that automatically ruins a case is LEDs.
That feel when the only thing stopping you from getting a Japanese floor bed is that your current mattress hasn't worn out yet despite nearly ten years of honorable service.
>>175363172
Why would you want a floor bed?
>>175363287
Curiosity.
Boredom.
The fact I like sleeping on the floor.
>>175363341
But when you get up on a morning you'll have to force yourself up instead of just swinging around and standing. Sounds awful.
>>175363545
I have to slide down to the bottom of my bed unless I woke up by falling off of it anyway.
Which Katawas would sleep on the floor instead of embracing superior not floor mattress designs?
I think Lilly would but I blame hidebound natures and not having a bed to trip over in a room for that.

>>175365798
He's by far the worst shitposter in these threads.
honestly I wish all the tripfags, and people who pretend to talk in unique ways, like the doodposter and good night I love you poster would just leave. They just detract from the thread and add literally nothing of value.
>>175366018
Ehhh goodnight is fine, kinda like ksg mansion. But tripfags who do not produce content are cancer.
>>175366018
I've never understood why people try to build up an identity on 4chan, I've used this thread on and off for years and deliberately try to avoid being recognisable.
>>175366163
Goodnights problem is he won't post for hours and will still post good night for the attention.
>>175366163
goodnight and the ksg mansion poster are acceptable IMO. Kenji doesn't seem to have any real talents, or produce content at all but at least he posts a fair amount of art/images and enables some decent discussion about KS and other things. He can be annoying at times though.
>>175366316
Despite being an annoying twat at times he doesn't really attention whore, he just replies to everyone which at least gets conversation going.
>>175366249
but every post is for attention.
every post calls attention to what you wish to contribute to the thread.
Goodnight's problem isn't a problem.
>>175366249
There are things far more incomprehensible about this world of ours than human nature.
>>175365798
I don't think Kenji is capable of anything yet here we are
>>175366018
>They just detract from the thread and add literally nothing of value.
Your bitching however brings a lot of value and is a foundation of a good thread
>>175365843
Yeah I can't really decide between Kenji, Patient or some random butthurt anon actually. Anyway you're right up there in that league. Or down there shall I say?
>>175366426
>he doesn't really attention whore, he just replies to everyone
We probably have a different definition of attention whore but you're right, he at least starts conversations.
>>175366163
t. heavily biased
>>175366316
>or produce content
He's made content before.
Most of his writings have been pretty meh and often cut short.
But the problem is that he hasn't made anything new in a few years (I guess we kind of just went in a circle) so he has a bitch and a moan when someone makes OC 'because it detracts from the attention on his OC'
>>175366316
Kenji writes and draws. Not recently though, from what I recall.
>>175366485
In context I'm not using attention like that, I'm referring to when they just want to be noticed or have people talk about them instead of with them. If you ignore the thread for hours and then just post a goodnight then you fit into that category and that doesn't contribute to the thread in any way.I know he does that as I've been the only one to post for several hours until he posts his goodnight
>>175366924
I've never seen him complain about OC, but then again I'm just a writefag so writefagging doesn't really draw much attention.
>>175366426
because he lurks 24/7 and helps bump the thread
he also posts tons of images
for better or worse, the threads would be much closer to dying without him.
>>175366724
He might be one but he hides it well enough through sheer volume of trying to make conversation thats focused on other people I can give him a pass on that front. At this point his trip is a positive as it lets people who really don't like him filter him.
>>175367228
Yeah, all in all he's a net good, when he's online the thread is alive and conversation moves. I should have made it clearer.
>>175366924
The problem is, if I try to make anything, it gets shit on and that's very discouraging for the future making of OC. Please try to understand how frustrating that is.
I still want to finish a few fics but I'm not convinced anyone will give a crap.
>>175367334
Now now, Kenji, the point of creating things isn't that others will give a shit, but to give vessels to bits of our soul.
I'm convinced no one reads my shit but I ain't giving a fuck.
>>175367334
People are always going to shit on OC unless its really good and you have the bonus of being Kenji to make people shit on it more, just bare that in mind and share it, its good for the threads health and even one guy liking it is a sign you did something right.
Also >>175367448 is right.Creating a stream of content again might get people off your back too.
>>175367334
don't let shitposters here talk you out of making content. some of us here actually appreciate it. pretty sure 90% of the shitposters here have never made any fanfics or art.
>>175367551
>spoiler
But what if it doesn't?
>>175367725
Then they weren't going to get off of your back no matter what you did.
Coincidentally, controlling others through your actions is a poor idea in general; you should simply act to improve yourself.
>>175367448
>>175367551
>>175367682
And y'all getting baited by him right now. He's such a poor poor thing after all, i'm sure tthere's no reason people shit on him and don't read his stuff right?
>>175367863
I don't care if you shit on him, buddy. And you're baiting us just as much as he's baiting us.
>>175367725
>create content
>some people see you as an OC creator and treat you a bit better
>you improve the general
>you improve your competency level
>a few people who never would have liked you will continue to not like you
vs
>don't create content
>continue to be seen as a heavily posting autist at best by everyone
>people who don't like you continue to dislike you
Hard choice really.
>>175367827
You're right. Though I still worry about certain parties. I'll let it go for now.
>>175368004
I'd like to believe that.
>>175367978
Maybe I am, or maybe it's just a fair warning? Who knows right?
>>175368004
OR there's a third option where he created OC which is shit and can't take criticism too well, so he does what he does best and guilt trips people who dislike his creations. Honestly though, if his stuff was actually good, people would read it. He wouldn't have to BEG people to read or review it like he did not too long ago.
>>175368360
>implying it can't be both
>implying that warning people about a tripfag doesn't just contribute to the conversation where the (you)s pile up and everyone who is mad about tripfags gets madder and everyone who doesn't care just keeps not caring.

>>175369538
I have that one, but I can't find it. Forgot what name I saved it under, all those ages ago.
>>175368997
oh come on, that's not even believable.
So I just finished Hanako's route. I wasn't as emotional as I was with Lilly's, but I understand why it's so important. I get why so many of you enjoy her route that much. I...I enjoyed her route. I did not enjoy the writing. The writer used the word "nostalgia" 8 times in 4 acts.
Ever since I started Katawa Shoujo, I've been feeling tremendously better. Lilly's route has had me realize what I believe the primary message of KS is: people are far more than what they seem at face value. That was a helpful realization for me, as I'm undergoing a transition. Knowing that I can live my life with close friends, loving me for who I am is wonderful. Hanako's route reiterated that for me, but it also enforced that if you feel alone, you will find someone important to you one day, a friendship or otherwise. That's an important lesson, but it isn't one that will transform my life the way Lilly has.
This evening, I'll listen to the songs associated with Hanako, and that should get the waterworks going.
I'll start Shitzune's route this weekend, likely, once I get some work done.TLDR: Hanako had a good route but it won't be as important to me as Lilly's has.
>>175370396
>The writer used the word "nostalgia" 8 times in 4 acts.
You'd hate the ciaphas cain books, the writer can get really derivative even down to practically reusing sentences. Which is a shame as the ones where goes with a completely different structure are his best.

>>175372151
Thanks!
>>175372409
Yeah, for a few reasons. People have told me it's the best one and I actually intended on getting her route initially but it's very complicated.
I just finished playing emi and hanako, first time I played this game. I quite liked those two, especially emi (hanako was really nice, and kind of sad/depressing because she reminds me of myself). I feel a bit burnt out on KS due to all the feels, so I think I'll play another VN first, as I have only played ks. I think I'll play narcissu because it's kinda similar to ks. Is it a good first "real" japanese VN or not?
>>175372275
Its a powerful route.
>>175371793
I appealed to your kindness in good honor. I've asked you to stop the BS many times, in the best way I can.
If others could tie such replies you make to your general character, I don't think they'd feel so hot about you.
I say again, either talk with me about how we can improve things, or fix your fucking filter so you can stop terrorizing me and the rest of ksg.
>>175372597
Its a good starter VN, /vn/ have a wiki and a chart with good starter and beginner ones. Steins;Gate is also a really good early VN as the writings good, its got choice but not to a massive level and has feels that aren't the main focus like Narcissu.
WHY CAN'T EMI BE REAL
IT'S NOT FAIR BROS I WANT TO RUN WITH HER
I WANT TO GIVE HER A PIGGYBACK AND HAVE A ROMANTIC PICNIC IN THE RAIN
I WANT TO SNUGGLE WITH HER IN BED

Oh I told you many times, and you still fail to comprehend it. That is beyond my ability right now. You appealed to shit, ignored everything you've been told, be it by me or anyone else, and you still dare to play victim here.
>>175373504
No, you're not! You're a great anon! Don't feel so low about yourself!

>>175374090
Oh, so it took barely above 30 minutes for you to beg for forgiveness again. No. I told you before, this is how you deserve to be treated for the way you act. This is your own fault.
>>175371385
>>175371309
Suriko is the one who tries to pretend there's no rape scene since the route was subverted to trick people. And then if that doesn't work he'll try to deflect, samefag for hours and pretend to be the only person who criticizes to route and claim it as a ploy for attention, all as some failed attempt to invalidate criticism of it, and other typically autistic things.
Thank God the shimmie not updating for 4 months has coincided with a lack of that stuff. These threads used to be way worse in days gone by.

>>175375964
Why's that?
>>175376414
Perhaps in Hisao's case.
>>175378065
From Northern England, whenever I leave the country its "oh are you scottish och aye freedom from the english right hahahahaggis", every scot I've known for a while has been an awful person, Scotland at the moment is being self-righteous and irritating (yes yes no self awareness thank you), I keep seeing scots claiming anything good Britain did as Scottish and anything bad as English and the fetishisation of Scots by foreigners is dumb.
Really I have an irrational hatred of Scots and being so close to Scotland just makes it worse, most of it probably comes from irritating Americans and continental europeans who get their history from braveheart and their politics from the Independent so its probably misplaced but it still angers me.
>>175378589
Don't ever visit America. You might actually implode.

Sound advice, I know how Americans love the Irish and Scottish and it would drive me up the pole to have to deal with that constantly.

>>175379039
I've got family down there and I've never found it to be that bad when it comes to ethnic nationalism, I guess never truly being an independent country or being loved by Americans will do that .
Maybe its just the media and non-scots amplifying a minority but since Brexit and the Indyref its felt like theres been loads of anti-english sentiment coming out of Scotland.Tories on course to win 12 seats in Scotland is the most hilarious thing I've seen for ages, not even a Tory voter either.

To anyone who played the alpha, specifically Shizune's route:do you think it would be plausible if Misha had only been gravely injured by the car instead of killed by it?

I don't love her as a character but rin's route is amazing. I'd probably play it last. I'd suggest not looking up a walkthrough to get the ending you want; just save a lot and go in blind. Also, you should probably take a decent break between each route to enjoy it more. Just play some other VN or something (if your first VN was katawa shoujo, you may like Narcissu. Joke's on me! I ain't got Sunday afternoon off, and I gotta do my best to finish or mostly finish this fanfiction request. The request did become rather ambitious (especially since I spent most of the weekend lazing about, going to the gym, or drinking), but I need to strike while the iron is...at least lukewarm.
>>175462174
It happens.
Still gotta get through it or it'll only get it worse.
If it helps, try thinking of an easier order for it. Such as, separate black/white from color images first. The colored images will be easier to sort, just make a line of folders and start draggin'.
Some good music helps while you do it.

What kind of wine do you think Lilly might like the most?
>>175468156
Lilly seems to like wine in general.
I imagine she likes high quality dry reds, but finds that it's far easier to get more palatable whites.
As a red wine fan myself, when you get a proper merlot or cab sav that isn't just cheap shit that is bitter because they made it shittily?
There's nothing like those tannins hitting you.
>>175468471
I'm not too sure. I get the feeling she just generally likes wine. I'm not too knowledgeable about wines, so chances are I'd find the one kind she wouldn't like.
>>175469124
The trick, my son, is to spend $20 on the bottle. Unlike Liquor where quality generally starts around $25 or $30, Wine starts at bad or passable around $5 and rapidly increases as you approach $20, and then beyond that it usually only goes up based on rarity.
>>175469285
It becomes nice after that point but an expensive wine can be fucking phenomenal.
>>175469124
Shit replied to the wrong post.Point still stands.
>>175469285
$20 for a decent bottle? Not that bad.
Is it just me or does standard captcha have a really small pool of images lately?
I would think that'd be a bad thing, really easy to reverse engineer. The captchafarmers must be happy about that.
>>175468471
That sounds about right. You seem pretty well-versed on the subject.
>>175469124
Seems that way through her limited sessions with it. Maybe she needs more experience with it, too.
>>175469285
Pretty much. Even better over here in California.
>>175469463
I don't disagree in the slightest, but I tell you, I was a cheap wine believer until I splurged on a Chianti and felt the difference.
Like cheap dry reds give that revolting feeling because they make you gag.
You actually TASTE the tannins in a more expensive one. It's bitter because it's well designed, not because it's trying to kill you.
It's beautiful.
>>175469668
I used to work at a liquor store and my employer took the education of the workers relatively seriously.
>>175469674
I wasn't a huge fan of wine until I went to a political charity dinner and by God the expensive red they had there was incredible, the feeling of all the tastes on your tongue really makes you realise why people like Wine.
It really takes just one good wine to get you into good wine.
>>175469924
The only problem is when you gotta pay for them, because damn, you're either sharing that bottle with someone else or you gotta drink five doses of alcohol in one night.
>>175469802
For good reason I guess, with so much variety around.
What's the strongest drink any of you have had?A friend brought over a 190 proof Everclear once... It only took 8oz for me to start rolling around the floor like an idiot.
>>175470730
Nothing more extreme than an average vodka, really.
>>175470730
You drank eight ounces of everclear?
Are you aware that five doses of 100 proof alcohol (at around 1 to 1.5 ounces each dose) is enough to put most adults on the floor? You drank what is basically 16 doses of 100 proof alcohol.
Anyone in this thread, if you're confronted with everclear, be cool with that stuff. That shit will fuck you up.
>>175471032
Yeah... I have not touched the bottle since. It just sits in the back of the liquor cabinet with a taped note "For Emergencies Only."
>>175471345
Everclear IS good for making large batches of liquor out of fruit or fruit punch.
Drinking it by itself...well, you know that's a bad idea.
>>175470730
Absinthe I guess
>>175471456
Pretty much this. Wanting to drink everclear on its own is like wanting to fill your car's gas tank with nitro.
>>175470730

It went down smooth but Jesus did it set your head to spinning.
>>175471590

>>175472039

>>175472039

Still, at least you learned something about booze.

>>175473790
Sure, why not, it can't be worse than the plastic bottle versions.
Not slav but vodka tends to come cheapest compared to other hard drinks here, so I've gone for that from time to time.
>>175473790
Maybe. Personally I still want one of those special bottles of Kalashnikov.

>>175485312
Admittedly I was assuming Factorio man would be reduced to a student for the sake of this.
Either way Mutou would probably mentor him on social stuff because I have a feeling Factorio guy would have Kenji levels of paranoia and probably have gun traps set up in his dorm room.
>>175485467
That'd probably make more sense man, but it's more fun to think of someone making a mega base over Yamaku, complete with orbital ion cannons, and electron beam turrets, with multiple nuclear reactors.

Obviously as a student he'd still do that, but he'd have to start off just having steam engines built into the hill under the school.

Probably not, theres a .jar in there as well that might work but I don't know how he coded it and the readme only specifies windows.

This was a really bad idea. I hate myself for touching this poison again, yet here I am. I haven't felt anything like this in half a decade. I am unable to focus on anything, Rin is always in the back of my mind calling after me.
On a side note, it's impressive that you've managed to keep /ksg/ running this long. I remember when we hit our 1000th thread - by then I was visiting this place a few times a month, out of habit. Have I missed out on anything big since then?

I run Linux exclusively except when I need to do anything remotely graphically taxing. Open source drivers are slow and closed source drivers suck.

That isn't really true any more. AMDGPU is making impressive steps towards parity with windows performance, and is open source. Nvidia's proprietary driver has always worked well for me, aside from optimus laptops being painful.

>full stack developer
Same here. Kind of makes one a jack-of-all-trades, which is exactly what most places need, but it's hard to get in the door sometimes.I got turned down for a graphic artist position because my resume was too "programmy". But when one of their developers left, giving a 2 week notice, and their DBA was out of commission for 2 months, my resume was on the top of the pack.
>>175516346
I just got a new nvidia optimus laptop (1050m) and it actually works pretty well. Did you set up bumblebee? After installing bbswitch-dkms-git, bumblebee-git, and nvidia-beta-dkms from the AUR, my laptop works really well. You shouldn't have screen tearing because optimus uses vsync. If you have tearing on your desktop, it's probably the Intel graphics' fault. Try uninstalling the xf86-video-intel driver, as it's unnecessary and worsens performance, and maybe getting a compositor like Compton if your DE/WM doesn't have one.

You must be exposed to inferior products to truly appreciate true greatness.

I'm just gonna take a guess, did you fall for the /g/ used thinkpad meme? they're nice laptops. I still have my t420 and x301.
>>175516665
It's not a hybrid setup to my knowledge, dedicated graphics only. But my only attempt was on a stock Ubuntu install and I didn't really try to try and fix problems before rolling back to the open source drivers.
>>175516668

HR never seems to grasp that concept; they crave overspecialization
>>175517852
The secret is that a lot of the overspecialised job offers won't find anyone who meets the criteria so you can apply and have a decent chance. Companies below 100 people are better on that front toolike the one I work for, I just wish the boss didn't have a burning hatred of using Objects and classes properly.
