His W talents are the go-to for newer players since it's an incredibly safe poke build with easy to hit attacks.

Depends on the character. Stay close to gate until you know how the enemy team is laned. Sometimes they five man mid.

If you see them five manning mid and you're top, feel free to push a bit more.

No harm in playing safe early, as there are usually rotating gankers. Just try to clear the wave before it gets in the tower's range.

That's pretty normal. Don't let it get you down. Think about it like learning to ride a bike. You might end up being some BMX world champion but at first, for probably weeks, you'll just be falling off and crying, and even for years after that you'll just be rolling along and occassionally falling off. You might be like me. I've barely played any RTS in my life. The bulk of my RTS experience was playing Command and Conquer about 19 years ago for about 10 hours total probably. I dabbled very slightly in the campaign for SC1 since then. Eventually I went and completed the campaign of WC3 and TFT.

Then moving onto Mobas, I played Dota for about 40 hours about 5 or 6 years ago. That's it. So even using the mouse in a relatively quick way (oh, I also don't play FPS other than a few hours in SP here and there, like back when HL1 came out) is a relatively new experience to me.

A lot of people that play these games used to play SC1/SC2/WC and other RTS for 1000s of hours in the past and then played 1000s of hours of Mobas.

I assume it's because I'm doing a lot wrong, but Auriel feels so underwhelming and pointless. Her attacks are so slow and lame, it seems impossible to stun anyone in most cases because they don't stand in such a place where it would line up and if you move to make it happen, you're dead. Her healing is shit and takes annoying extra work to pay for. The crown thing barely seems to help.

Maybe it's just because I'm playing at absolute entry level after some time away and she depends on teammates to do anything. But this just feels like I follow people around and watch them die before getting killed myself.
