Honestly, this banner feels like it's going to suck.

There's absolutely no chance that Ike is anywhere near as good as people want him to be, plain and simple.

He's definitely going to be worse than Lucina and Ryoma, and possibly worse than Xander (especially given horse meta is in play with Xander). Maybe even worse than Marth and Lyn, although he'll almost certainly be better than Alm and Chrom unless his statline is worse than Seliph's.

If he ends up better than Xander, then it would at least be justifiable to pull for him, but if a neutral Xander is better than a neutral Ike then it would be best to not bother.

Soren is not going to be on par with Nino, Julia, or even Cecilia, which is particularly damning when 2/3 of those are 3* base units that it is actually expected you will pull eventually.

Titania is a melee green axe unit. Probably the best melee green cavalry, but if you're bothering with a green cavalry you'll probably use Cecilia instead anyways.

Mist is a healer.

I love Tellius but it looks like it will probably be as much of a shitshow as the current Echoes banner is: the red sword lord ends up decent but not amazing, the rest of the banner is a garbage fire, and then a better red sword unit than the one on the banner comes out as a GHB reward the week after anyways.

Really, that's the spirit of the game. You don't roll for things because they're meta, you roll for them because you like the characters. All the content can be cleared with 3 star units so it's best to just have fun with it.

Effie is the more useful unit but comes with less than ideal IVs, if you don't see yourself using her then I guess bit the bullet and go for it. If you plan on rolling any colorless sometime soon (kek who does that) maybe wait and see if you get a Klein to sacrifice instead.

Hard to say, it's rare that you'll need to bait more than once in a match and generally with cav buffs even with -def so long as you have raven/ta you shouldn't die to anything you are meant to tank unless they have desperation up.

With +spd you can actually prevent doubles and double some more, on a larger scale than others thanks to +4. That said if you really only care about pigeon holing Cecilia into blues+colorless then sure, it just means your team is that strong that it never needs Cecilia to double/prevent being doubled by someone she's not meant to tank.

Most people don't run cav memes. And for Cecilia, preventing doubles matters more if you ask me. Hector hits her really damn hard already. But that's just me, I'm in the category where I just wanted someone to beat Blues/Colorless in one hit and that's already extremely strong. Kagero takes care of anything she doesn't except someone like Hector which I can fill in easily since I have two slots remaining.

Preventing doubling and doubling is mostly the same thing, which is based on speed. If you don't run cavs then yeah +atk is better by a long shot, but we're discussing 2nd best. I don't see a reason why Cecilia would ever need to tank Hector. Armads ensures he hits her twice no matter what, so Cecilia dies. -def or -hp wouldn't make a difference if you are talking about tanking a single hit when he initiates, she still lives with a paltry sum of hp that won't ever survive another attack.

distant counter gives ryoma much more enemy phase potential and flexibility, which is incredibly important in a game where initiating is usually suicide unless you can be positioned back to safety
ryoma is so good because he can play defensively and make good trades with raijinto early in the fight, and also burst out to get tons of one-rounds later in the fight via desperation or vantage.

lucina could rival his usefulness with distant counter, but then she'd lose fury or lnd so like why run lucina
plus, falchions are especially not worth using now that julia exists and hard counters dragons anyway while also throwing up a middle finger to deadly blue mages like linde, olwen, and rein, and even other green mages if she picks g tomebreaker (she always should)
basically, you get way less bang for your buck and have too much role overlap by fielding lucina or any other melee red, sans maybe olivia, over ryoma

Sure, but that makes gronblade superior to raven tome. Raven TA's power comes from tanking not actually one shotting everyone it counters cause it honestly doesn't if the enemy has high res/hp.

And like I said for Hector nothing matters cause he has built in QR. If you attack him and he lives, he will double your ass and you die. If he attacks you, then it won't matter cause you'll live with a tiny bit of hp left no matter what IVs. Hector has 1 less speed than Cecilia, so unless it's +spd Hector vs -spd Cecilia even when he's below Armads range he still can't double.

Cecilia's biggest strength in meta is her cav meme. Otherwise, she's just a weaker version of Julia and Camilla with 3 move. This is specially since you like to deal with things in one hit, and Cecilia has 3 less attack than both of them, and 4 less total stats then both of them as well.

Both of those do the Raven TA job better so long as memes aren't involved. Cav meme reigns supreme due to how complete the options are.

Gronnblade is better, but at the same time requires a lot more investment, not just from getting a 5* Nino but from having to get all the cav memes. +Spd Cecilia would actually double neutral Hector and he'd die, but it's extremely specific and not really worth it.

I'm not saying that Cecilia is better than Julia or Camilla. She's a fine stand in option, especially since Julia and mage Camilla are 5* units, one of which is impossible to roll now, and something about +Atk is better than neutral or whatever no matter the bane.

What if they did something like Geneaology with Fates? Xander and Ryoma are your starting lords, but they both die fighting each other, then you continue the story with Heirs of Fate. The kids naturally don't trust each other because their parents died fighting one another, but the main enemy is clear to both of them, so they begrudgingly team up anyway
