I just bought 24 today and all I pulled was Cadet Oxton.

The rest I pulled from earned crates, except Lt. Wilhelm, which I bought with gold. (I did pull Wilhelm twice in the crates afterwards) Still need Widow, Orisa, McCree, Ziegler, and Null Bastion, like I said above.

Null Bastion is affordable if I need to buy him at the last minute. I have 2000 gold right now, a lot of it earned from the crates I bought.

I'm not a huge event skin person most of the time, it's just that I got the Origins edition back around release and really like the idea of running everybody in their "back in the old days" skins. I run Strike Commander Morrison, Blackwatch Reyes, Security Chief Pharah, etc. Was running Slipstream Tracer, but now I have the Cadet outfit instead and am using that.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not to run Ironclad Torb or Chief Engineer Torb. Even if I get Null Bastion I'll probably stick to Overgrown.

I think what he means is that on average it's going to take over $1170 to unlock ALL cosmetics for Overwatch.

Of course, nobody actually wants to do that, and you already own everything of mechanical benefit once you buy the game.

Dota 2 also has a massive cash shop of cosmetics, that also has little to no mechanical benefit. It's the main way the game monetizes. CS:GO does something similar, as does TF2, although TF2 also has weapons in its shop that are actually mechanically different from the stock weapons (though with a balanced set of benefits and trade-offs).
