Friede fucks up, falls into Painted World out of despair. Notes that the residents of the Painted World are preparing to recycle it, decides 'fuck cycles' (Which, given what is going on outside, is a kind of valid stance to take) and seduces Ariandel, convincing him to keep himself weak enough that he cannot burn the old world, and locking painter loli in a cellar with Vilhelm to babysit so that she can't paint a new world.

I mean, it's a world that is rotting, but all she was really trying to do was stop what she thought was a pointless sacrifice. She was wrong, really, really wrong, but when has anybody who ever did horrible things in the name of a good cause ever failed to delude themselves into thinking it's worth the cost?

Then the Unkindled Ash comes along and threatens to fuck everything up purely via his/her presence, ruining her idyllic land of stagnation and stasis. She tries to get him to leave, and I mean, there's nothing actually stopping Ash from leaving, but he pokes his nose in out of curiosity or righteousness or whatever and won't leave. She knows that while there are two Unkindled in the Painted World, she's on a time limit. Eventually, Ash finds Ariandel and she decides that shit needs to be dealt with because clearly her advice to just walk away was not heeded.

Everything she did was pretty reasonable from her point of view. To be honest, it's a reasonably well done tale of tragedy, ruined only by retarded breakneck pacing that stems from it trying to be a full story (in keeping with the 'worlds within worlds' theme) in a single DLC.

A common complaint in the previous games was that the invader had too much of an advantage invading especially with twinks. The advantage the host has in ds3 is dramatically greater than the advantages the invaders had in the past by orders of magnitude. TRC is normal DLC length. It's actually longer than any of the DaS2 DLCs (minus the backtrack padding in Ivory). It's only short relative to TOH, which is the longest expansion From has released.

AoA was planned for a much later release and pushed forward 6 months by Bamco, forcing much of its planning to be scrapped and condensed to fit the shorter development cycle.

That's one thing that bothered me about the series. I'm a new fag but wherever I go, someone tells me to avoid DS2 because it's shit or to avoid DS3 because it's shit.

I ultimately decided to play all the games in release order, and I'm currently experiencing the first DLC of DaS3, but I'm not seeing their "it's shit claims" I like somethings other games do over 2, I like somethings 2 does over the other games.

I don't understand this black and white mentality people have in regards to this site. I think BB is my favorite so far just because I love the cosmic-horror themes. But I prefer the slow combat in DaS.

this is what I'm testing currently. The idea was to force battle of attrition against host by constantly spraying bursting fireballs and catch rolls with whip or surge. Seemed to work out the best when I invade irithyll of the boreal valley or dungeon.

You know, when I first played DS1 and the sequel was in the works, I was excited to see how Fromsoft would develop covenants over time. But three games in and we still wound up with covenants like the Gravelords that only involve "talking" to a random corpse or object that give you no motivation or explanation for what you're doing or why.

Why was III so disappointing? I love I and Bloodborne, and think II was pretty good. But, I just can't make myself replay III. It's so, dull.

They could've easily introduced a secondary mechanic that would allow them to blue invade people who had aldrich faithful/rosaria's fingers equipped. Vordt's Greathammer is exceptionally strong, if you play right you're guaranteed a frost proc and it comes with perseverance

Standard Mace does scary things when people try and hit you

Millwood Battle Axe gets a guaranteed hit if you manage to hit the battle cry WA

Exile Curved GS is still strong despite the slight nerf, and the running R1 is still a bastard

Harald Curved Greatsword is used rarely enough that people are really not used to that WA. By the way, when using the WA, you need to hold down R2 in order to continue the chopping

Great Club is great, seriously, it has a great R2 in and out of battle-cry mode, nice and light, and the damage is tremendous

Ledo's is awesome, the buffed R2 has deceptive range and those rocks are no fucking joke if they connect

Continuing on, Ringed Knight Straight Sword is geared towards STR and the weapon art puts it up there with the other straight swords

Ringed Knight Spear is surprisingly effective with a huge gap closer and sweeping R2s

Winged Knight Twin Axes are simply terrifying, especially if you can afford to buff them

Crucifix of the Mad King is terribly strong if you can afford to put some stats into FAI, and even moreso if you can buff it with Dark Blade. Go 40/40 STR/FAI and watch the magic, massive damage for a halberd with the same R2s as the Great Club

Yhorm's Great Machete is the best Greataxe in the game, and the only one that can counter passive turtle players

Great Lance is bloody good, great for turtling with and cosplaying as every STRfag's favourite waifu, Felicia the Fucking Stronk

Because of the buffs to frostbite, all the weapons now do more frostbite per hit

Now, most people have just over 200 frost resistance on a standard build

Vordt's does 110 frost buildup per hit

You hit the enemy three times, you're all but guaranteed a proc. Which means the enemy is now recovering stamina a LOT slower. Then you just switch out to a faster weapon and watch as they try and fail to roll away in a blind panic

You can also tank through ANYTHING with that perseverance WA. Nothing can trade with you

Twin Axes do hilariously high damage with their combos, and like all twin weapons benefit massively from buffs since the damage procs twice per swing. Add that to the fact that people rarely see them in PvP and you've got a weapon that few people know how to deal with properly
