They already stated ages ago they would not be adding content/characters or further working on KS years ago. By the end of finalizing the VN a ton of them had been fatigued and overall tired of working on it for that long anyways, and that's just the team that stuck with it until then. overall there had been a lot of hands on that project that came and went.

It really helps if you have someone to talk to, or just something to do to take your mind off it. it won't last long. I'd recommend giving the free VNs on steam a try. They can be a bit trash but some of are hidden gems.

For things not on steam:

The Blind Griffin is a pretty good free one.

The Knife of the Traitor is okay but it's a little confusing to navigate properly.

As for anime, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Gundam SEED (not SEED destiny), and Mobile Suit Gundam are all aight. I'd recommend Lupin III but that might be personal bias talking.
