First scenario event with echantment mats, which is extremely tedious as it's like 4-5 stages with battles each and no healing in-between and you have to fullfill the mission requirements to get the drops, in the future scenario events the drops are even better but the missions stay just as bullshit
Then you have the FFX event which is kinda comfy, until you get to the boss that is, that's pretty bullshit from what I recall but for the live of me I don't remember it's gimmick
Then you have the FF3 event where characters with bonus drops are all new to the game so you have to roll like madman and boss is even more bullshit and the gacha gets to the point of "If you dont have Orlandu/Eileen/OK/Tidus then you can fuck off"
Nothing about the games design really changes save for instant crafting being implemented but that's it

There's harder units to gear, yeah.
The cool thing about Naruto is that he can totally rock a holy setup without really losing damage (except to humans), so in some ways he's easy to gear.

But by running light, you miss out on the chance to capitalize on his -100% Dark Imperil counter, and it also makes it harder to clutch self-heal using dark damage.

If you do Moonblade+Greatsword, then replace BM with Dark Knight's Soul which actually synergizes with his own TMR which boosts attack further by greatsword and heavy armor being equipped.

Of course we would like to have the Deathbringer as you cut out the Moonblade but beggars can't be choosers. Moonblade+Greatsword still works well enough for Naruto since it gives him the dark element weapon he so craves without needing to go all in for a DKC.

Yeah, it's technically valid (if a little weaker than his Deathbringer setup).
It does make it harder for him to switch to Holy elemental though, unless you also have a spare BM. A lot of the time you're more likely to find Orlandu friends than DV friends, and it lets you chain with your own Agrias then too.

Because he imperils dark -50%, elemental averaging won't diminish his damage at all.
And that might actually be a fair bit STRONGER. Every so often Dark Veritas will counter with a -100% dark imperil, meaning he'd have an additional boost to his damage.

Still better if you can find another DV to chain with, but that's probably his best light element setup

Be so far AFAIK only has Shantotto, Prishe, Kupipi and Werei from XI - hard to imagine an Adoulin event when they've skipped straight to a Chains of Promathia character before having a Zilart-heavy one like Lion and Zeid, but then again, the Dissidia factor weighs heavily on XI's public image.

Didn't know Mobius did game-specific events, neat.

Heck, Jabbos and some of the other CoP characters like (fake) Louverance didn't even make it to XI itself as Trust NPCs, but yeah, Tenzen would make sense at some point... maybe along with Lilisette, since Zeid was released with Aphmau...

I guess there's also Pictlogica, which seems to have the most XI characters of anything out there, including the likes of Maat and Iroha... I could imagine August there eventually since Arciela in the very least is already in.

It took me like a month to figure out what I was doing in RK.

First goals should be to get full break, curaja, protectga/shellga (or the dances) and some lifesiphons crafted. Beyond that pull for characters you like when their banners come around. You can pull for meta but you'll enjoy the game more when using favorites. You do know how to craft right? With the new dailies up you should be able to get plenty of major orbs to downgrade into greaters for the necessary 4* stuff.

hit upgrades and inventory, create abilities, find what you need and make it. Then back otu and go to hone abilities to upgrade them

There's some alright stuff in there, but he was right in saying you need a medica ASAP. Arc's SSB works fine, so if you wanted to blow some mythril on the FFIII 2nd banner, you could try that. Full Break stacks with the other breakdowns like Power and Magic Breakdown, stacking breakdowns is a really solid tactic to make boss fights easier.

Yeah, you're gonna want to get Curaja and hone it as best you can. Ultra Cure is nice too since it helps when there's status effects, but it's easier to hone Curaja

That's fine. I have mine at rank 2 and almost never have to use them more than twice. If anything, I use the extra uses just to fill my healer's SB gauge more.

They're not so much used for damage as for filling your SB bar since they fill it up quite a bit, especially if you have any Record Materia that increase the bar more when you use abilities/do damage. Get one for each of your physical attackers on your team who can use them, get them to rank 3 or 4.

New medicas that I see on the banners from the next two weeks after looking at a couple of different sources:

Tactics:
Ovelia's Mage's Staff [BSSB, +10 MND] - 5 single-target Holy/NE white magic attacks, h55 heal to party, MND +30% to self, Burst Mode

Weak-ish as a medica, but Ramza's USB is on the same banner and that's pretty cool.

FFXII Banner 1:
Penelo's Hermes Suit [USSB, +10 MND] - h85 heal, 2000 HP Stock & 1 time Physical Blink to party, Instant Cast

Banner 2:
Larsa's Clothes of Prince [BSSB, +10 MND] - h85 heal & 1 time Status Blink to party, Burst Mode

Penelo's USB is a straight upgrade to Arc's instant medica adding the 2k HP bubble. Larsa's BSB has the status blink which is pretty neat lately, but you'd also have to use Larsa so I dunno.

Might as well let you look rather than hunting down the BSB commands right now.

Selphie is pretty much a straight up white mage. The mag blink on dreamstage is alright, but not always that useful. Her BSB is neat for a mag team because of the mag/mind buff, although cmd 1 is the only healing on it. It's sort of hard to justify her as a main healer in the long term, but she'll work until he could pull another medica.

I really wish I had a good character for witch spells. My only one is Edna but she doesn't have any SB.

For BE should I try for T.Terra? or just level another Exdeath. Kefka 6 star was a huge disappointment. Hell this entire FF6 event is a huge disappointment.
Also should I level my Queen? She her kit seems to only work well in very niche situations and I think I have better units that do a similar thing.

Oh right, that's a thing that's coming up. I completely forgot. I guess it mainly depends on what you're lacking and looking for in a team but from my own personal experience, Y'shs, Vanilles and Relms are fantastic Medicas with added effects (I'd give the point to Vanilles if only because a party ether is really handy but they're all rather good), WoL's has that great physical blink and does really high damage for an SSB, Zack's is a hastega if you lack that, and Krille's gives full quickcast so that's great on Mage teams. Everything else ranges from either very usable in specific setups to not worth your time.

I mean, SC was pretty poor from the get-go. Dark Bargain provides a unique buff which will stack with vanilla +ATK buffs, and is cheaper to hone. Magical darkness can get on fine thanks to DZ/DH. Memento Mori can be troublesome nowadays since it is a vanilla +MAG buff on top of the doom counter. That depends on the other potential sources of that buff in the party (due to one overwriting the other, etc).

So I'm retarded and need some /spoonfeed/. Pic related is my current units, and the party I'm running is noctis, cecil, rain, luka, and ace. I'm on the third island in story and it seems to be pretty tough. Am I doing something wrong here? Or should I just start running vortex for awakening/exp?

do a bit of the event and turn your fish in at king mog (inside vortex) for giant cactuars to boost your units alot. Once you get powerful enough units you should be able to kill the boss in the vortex world for the masamune and that should give you a good boost to push forward.

Also using damage/defense buffs and debuffs (fullbreaks or def/spirit breaks) help alot with maximizing your output

Also rain is the only story character that's worth using in general. He does get a group att/def/mag/spi buff that lasts 3 turns, and a fullbreak to att/def/mag/spi once you get him high enough, check a wiki.
Unfortunately he is only good at that and having decent hp, he suffers drastically in all other areas statistically and you will want to replace him with a better group make up in time.

Cecil at 5-6 star (check wiki) gets an ability called focus that increases mag/spirit for 3 turns, he is a decent tank, and can heal. He is a definite mainstay in your team, especially if you intend to use a mage.

Check the wiki to make sure you get every character an esper. The esper's stats partially translate to the character its equipped to, so its a stat boost for every character. I would put at least 10 levels into each character then focusing one really hard (ifirit for noctus).

The event now isn't great for getting easy gear for your guys. But in the future they usually hand out a 75 damage sword every 2-4 weeks. Keep an eye out on that, if you can handle the Rebirth of Intangir or can use a friend's extremely powerful unit you can kill him in the vortex and get a 82 damage sword thats super useful as well.

I always seem to have bad timing on when to pop off heals in solo and mp, and I don't have any instants besides arc ssb so I try to leave that to other people better at it. I have all 3 of the main magic buff sbs, shout and onion bsb so I'll swap whichever is best in when needed or if I have poor synergy. And if everything else is covered and I have good synergy I deck out Refia, Ashe, maria or Celes to hit shit.
