Honestly, I'm not sure why Ryuji had issues. By that point in the game he had a pretty decent grasp of the cognition stuff, and it's not really all that hard to understand "the treasure thinks it's a God because humans' cognition made it so because they don't want to actually do things for themselves". Even the grail itself explained that like twice.

This came up a bit the other day, but its nice that P5 has such a strong waifu selection across the board. Aside from Ohya they're all pretty good and I'm sure she has her fans too. You get the odd anti-Makoto autist or the like for the other girls, but by and large they all seem pretty well liked.

Whereas 3 and 4 definitely had some excellent girls but also a lot more forgettable ones, or ones that have divided opinions at the very least.

Oh man, this was exactly the hardest choice in my playthrough too. I even ended up having both their rank 9 events on the same day.

I ended up choosing Hifumi because I'd had the Hawaii event with her and it seemed like a natural lead into the romance, it'd be a shame to waste it. At least Futuba bounces back from your friendzoning her pretty fast.

The bank's track was pretty decent and upgrades halfway through. The Pyramid was also pretty sweet.

Okumura's palace's track also upgrades in the last third. I actually prefer the airlock theme to the main one.

It's actually quite easy now that you can choose what to inherit (for the most part).

Skill cards help a lot (especially since you get a null phys one early). You also don't have to worry about skills you don't want being inherited and coveted skills are less likely to transfer so you spend 2 hours doing this convoluted method of having a persona have tons of skills that do not transfer and spam X and O til you get what you want.

Essentially find out what spells the target persona can learn that you want. Then check if there are spell cards for skills you need and then find a persona that has the skill you need and find a way to fuse him into a monster that can create your target.

I kind of miss that, with 4 and 5 it feels like you're losing valuable time if you don't immediately clear the dungeon in a single day. In 3 you knew when the boss would be and you could just build yourself up as much or as little as you wanted in advance.

I guess in practice it doesn't really change the available time, but pacing wise it feels off. Not helped by people constantly reminding you about your deadline if you put off the Palace/TV World to do something else.

it's a story with a defined destination, and the reason the other endings are just failure cutscenes is because they are not meant to be the actual ending but rather a push for the player to go back and do things properly.

I completed Yoshida's confidant already.
They were both real heartwarming. Yusuke overcoming Madarame's betrayal and taking hope and motivation from his friends, and Toranosuke with the speech about his desire to be like the Phantom Thieves.
I must say that confidants in P5 blow those from P4 out of the water pretty hard.
P4 had 3interesting s.links at most but P5 only has 2 boring confidants in my opinion (Morgana and Mishima's).

I liked P3's mechanics where you were free to do whatever the hell you wanted as long as you beat the monthly floor and Dark Hour bosses a lot more.

Im just glad we even had a real bad guy this time. I mean sure they where all cartoonishly evil rapists but having someone to put against the heroes really does go a long way to creating an interesting conflict.

Battling your own shadow is fine and all but doesn't really create quite the dynamic.
