If you go French lights, you're going to be suffering through various levels of mediocrity until tier 9 now that WG assfucked light tanks. The French lights in particular were kind of shit before but at least the ELC was good. Now the ELC is shit and the other French lights that were already bad got even worse except for the 1390 which got a huge buff.

While the AMX 30b does have some nice features, the barrel, mantle, wrap around bustle rack, IR(?) box, and rather large cupola make it inferior to the Centurion Action X. also the blue paint job is shit tier.

The Centurion Action X has

Why do people even want to drive any tank that goes under 30 km/h? WG should just arbitrarily increase the speed limit of awful slow shitpiles because no matter how much armor they get they're always going to get gold spammed to death, and the only way WG is going to make them relevant is by making a bunch of other stats on the tank broken OP (see: the fucking Maus). M53 does 1050 damage if it penetrates, and it will penetrate a light tank 9/10 times if it hits the top. Even if the M53 misses, he probably does 500 damage to a light tank just by splash, which is a lot better than dealing 100 damage to a heavy and hoping that your team uses the fact that the's stunned. Save your silly "stunning for the team" shit for CW and platoons where you're all on teamspeak. In random battles, you should go for damage. That means that you want to shoot groups of enemies as your first priority for splash damage, or else if you can only hit one target then you should shoot the lightly armored ones. Shooting a Russian heavy for 100 damage will put you on reload for longer than it will stun him.

Are you actually retarded? You shoot faster, splash further, and deal damage with every single hit if you're not bad. Just because you're not one shotting people doesn't mean your damage is inconsequential. There are plenty of games where you can shoot the heavy corner and get 1000 total splash damage per shot easily just because the heavies are forced to play in one small area of the map to be effective, and you can deal that damage without nearly as much RNG as before. You can shoot lights scouting your team and even if you usually miss, that splash damage is more than enough to stop them from doing it again. You can blindfire the one obvious TD camping spot which every fucking TD has used since 2011 and probably splash two or three different TDs. Welcome to the game everyone else plays, where you have to shoot a guy more than once to kill them. If you adapt to the new way arty plays, you can easily be just as effective at dealing damage as the last patch (unless you were an M44 heat spammer), and you get to stun bitches too.

The tier 8 and 9 light tanks are more fun than any of the light tanks in 9.17 ever were except maybe the pre-nerf ELC. It sucks that WG fucked up the balance on a lot of the light tanks, especially the tier 5 and 6 ones which suck massive dick now, but I've been having so much fun playing the T-54 ltwt and BC 12t that I really don't care. Playing a light tank with 33 hp/t is just more fun than playing one with 24 hp/t. I'm pretty sure the tier 10 light tanks will get buffed too since people are crying so much, so it will just be seal clubbers that get fucked by the light tank changes in the long run. I'll always be salty about the ELC changes, but I would gladly give up my ELC to play the new high tier lights that are just as much fun as the ELC.

You have absolutely no idea how any of the game mechanics work, do you?

HE shells do a maximum of 50% damage roll on targets that they do not penetrate, and the amount of damage it does within that 50% damage roll depends entirely upon penetration value of the shell vs armor thickness of where it hits.

What you want is for them to increase the penetration values, meaning that artillery can actually do things to heavy tanks, which is what they should be prioritizing in an ideal world.

For Russian lights, you're supposed to shoot and scoot at mid ranges because they're almost as accurate on the move as they are fully aimed, especially the T-100 which has the best soft stats in the game. The Frenchies and Germans still have good accuracy. The burger lights just got screwed with accuracy because WG wanted to fuck over everyone who bought permanent camo on some the most popular light tanks in the game like the Chaffee and T37 by nerfing those tanks and not refunding the camo (same reason why they gave the ELC the worst 90mm in the game to force ELC drivers to use a generic 75mm).

The Russian bias is more prevelant in WoWs, but it's a much slower game and less frustrating (if you don't get targeted by CVs when you have bad anti-air). If you like the slow gameplay, it'll be fun. The grind is a bit less taxing in WoWs as well, as you get credits thrown at you left and right
